When you find a special place like Smokey Ridge Ranch you have a dilemma - do I keep this gem to myself or do I tell the world and fear that it will be overcrowded like the other farms around here? While going to a couple of farms to walk around and get apple pie I was fried way too many people and way too hot. Driving home I realized that I didn't buy a single apple! Randomly saw this farm and saw that it wasn't swarming with people (thank god!). This is a very cute/small location with apples to pick AND chestnuts! Never picked chestnuts before, but this was such a fun experience and the staff were very friendly. Will come back!

The weather when we visited was great. Had a neat wine tasting experience at the backyard. They have free tasting of jam, no double dipping please! They have $10 of two options for wine tasting. Wine bottle costs $15-28 for a 750ml bottle. Two portable toilets available. Chestnut picking available too. Staffs were friendly and accommodating.

I went today with my husband and baby girl. We picked chestnut and bought a bag of Fuji apples. Even though it was the beginning of the season, we picked almost 2pound of chestnut (the cost is 8$ per pound). It was fun!! At the farm they have wine and cider tasting, but unfortunately no food. We'll come back next year for other chestnuts

If you love chestnuts this is the farm for you. It's small but has plenty of beautiful mature chestnut trees. We had a great time gathering our own chestnuts & they were delicious!! Plenty of parking & friendly staff. They also offer wine tasting & apple picking as well.

This place was sooo cute! We got the 2 different wine flights! My two faves were the Sangiovese and the late harvest. They were sweeter in taste! There's also a cute area outside to take fall pics in between all the beautiful trees! Would def recommend!

Although it was too late in the season for u-pick apples, they still had delicious apples to purchase without the work. The staff were very welcoming. There was a small food stand, Sierra Rizing, that had the best apple grilled cheese. Plenty of tables with views that we stayed a while.

It is a small place with wine tasting, apples, jams, etc. The unique aspects are 1) nice place for picnic and 2) exceptional service.

We would order it again in a heartbeat! The strawberry pie tasted like it was just strawberry jam as the filling and we didn't really like it much. Their burgers were so delicious and the sauce they offered were so good!! They had a chipotle and BBQ sauce that was so good that we regretted not asking if they sold it there to bring home with us! We also got their corn dog and hot link corn dog to try, as well as their hot apple cider. I don't even like cake donuts, but something about a freshly made HOT donut will do something to you!! It was SO soft, hot, and had a good amount of cinnamon to it which I really appreciated. Get your own and don't share, you've been warned! The corn dog batter is delicious! Crispy on the outside and ever so slightly doughy on the inside while still being chewy and soft--it was so good! Not to mention the actual hot dog tasted like it was all beef, not sure if it was, but it definitely wasn't a Bar-S hot dog if you know what I mean! The hot link corn dog was my FAVORITE. Had a GREAT snap when bitten into and had a very small kick to it. I wish it was spicier but that's okay! I love a good corn dog. The hot apple cider was on the sweeter side, it was good on that chilly day but I most likely wouldn't get it again next time because it was a bit too sweet. You have to stop by Rainbow Orchards. The only disappointment was no hot cider :( not sure if this is/isn't a thing at this farm, but that was one thing we were looking forward to. We rounded up all our treats and sat in the balcony patio of the Pie House. The tables and benches were a little damp, but we were able to easily wipe it down and enjoy the sun, crisp air and our delicious goodies!

Wanting to beat the crowds, we arrived a little before 10 a.m. and found parking quickly after discovering an additional parking lot. I've started a tradition of picking up one glass pumpkin each year, but this time I left with two--thanks to my husband's suggestion. The selection of pumpkins was beautiful, as always. We didn't see the popcorn or the glassblowing demos, though in fairness we may have been too early. Instead, we tried the Pineapple Ginger Hard Cider, which was delicious. Since we didn't want a full pour, we asked about a smaller size. The server showed us a half-glass, which was perfect, but we later realized we'd been charged for a full drink anyway. By the time we left around 10:30, cars were lined up down the road waiting to get into the lot. Parking definitely seemed limited for such a popular event.
