It's has a beautiful outside tasting area. The large patio area is between the Myka tasting room and a sister winery. When we made the reservation for the Pinot Niors we thought we had made the reservation for Myka, since we did it from the Myka website. Upon arrival there was some confusion about our reservation. But our party of 6 finally was seated, a bit far from the tasting room and actually closer to the sister one. Either way the setting was lovely. Our next dilemma was the Pinot Nior flights were not served the day we were there, Friday. No where in our search of the website did any of us catch that. So we ordered other tasting flights from that day's menu. Service for seemed slow or off. We were seated to far from the staff or maybe they serve the members first. Finally the wine maker did stop by the table to introduce himself. It was a short conversation. The overall experience and the tasting left me feeling eh. I made no puchases to take home. They are located across from Blue Barn Provisions to make it easier to find. Myka has several parking spot just off the road. read more

This is a hidden gem in Placerville. The precious Somm refer me to come here as he mentioned they have good reds here. The wines I tasted was good, but the thing was they have food here. I had the duck confit nachos and the spinach salad. Both dishes were surprisingly delicious for a winery kitchen. Beautiful tasting room but small. Outside patio and view of the lake is amazing. Stacey was personable and knowledgeable. She also invited me back for future events. Definitely a good stop for tasting and eating if visiting Placerville. read more

My partner and I stumbled upon this place on a rainy Sunday afternoon. We were only expecting some tasty wines and a light snack. What we were not expecting was the amazing hospitality, camaraderie, and laughter. We brought our 2 labs. If you have dogs, definitely bring them and pull up a seat on the deck. Everyone who walked in was from the local community, and wanted to pet and chat. So many friendly folks. It was a such a warm, welcoming feel for us out-of-towners. We originally started with our two wine flights. Then ventured off into tasting other wines. We originally started with the hummus pairing. Then decided to hang out longer because we were having such a good time. We also got the hearty sausage and cheese board, and the light and healthy spinach salad. We ended up buying 2 bottles of the 2020 Malbec from Saureel Vineyard and a bottle of the 2023 Pinot Noir from Indian Rock Vineyards. Totally drinkable wines on their own. Perfect after a long day of work and just need to unwind. Tbh, many of the wines and much of the food pairings were good. But the community and the staff made the difference - the entire experience felt like hanging out with your bestie, and laughing and connecting. It was so much fun. Not only is the wine delicious, but the food is outstanding. We visited a couple times and now our members. Each and every time we've been there, it has been a wonderful experience. Are you looking for Pinots? This is the place for you! Staff is very friendly and helpful! The location is a hide away of perfection. They have outdoor and indoor seating. The prize on the outside seating is the rooster that comes around and wants to hang with the people. They do have food to eat. The menu looked tasty. I was full when I went after a picnic. I came here on MLK day, on the suggestion of my date. And I am glad we went. We had a really nice time with Sara. She was so nice, friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The wine is really good. They do a great job across the board. We left with four bottles! Not only is the wine good, but their food is really good too! My date recommended the Gorgonzola cheesecake with crostini's and the flatbread pizza. Both were incredible. They have a nice little menu that begs you to try it all! Then there was Katie, the winery dog. Such a precious little girl. She's a really cute Lab who belongs to the owner, who we got to meet also and he was really great too. Such a great place to go to! I had no idea Apple Hill had wineries. A friend purchased a private event dinner and wine pairing package so our group got to enjoy hearing about the winery and their wines while having the place to ourselves. I can't believe I don't remember our hostess' name because she was incredible! She was lively, knowledgeable about the wines and how the winery was operated and she had a lot of good stories to tell. Lisa, the chef, was also amazing! The four course meal was perfection and the wine paired perfectly with each dish. I was also surprised with how good the wine was. We left with eight bottles. I highly recommend going to Myka's and drink some wine and eat Lisa's food. When I have out of town guests, I will be taking them here. read more

Very nice tasting room nestled in the trees right off highway 50. Wines are very good here. The Pinot noir is nice. I also like their fume blanc. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. Excellent and welcoming staff. Lisa is very hospitalible and set up the outdoor firepit for us right away and bring us some wine for tasting. We ordered roasted squash, spinach and almond salad with bacon dressing, and a chicken artichoke cheese flatbread. Food tastes great. The flatbread was crispy and warm but a little burnt at the bottom. Lisa keeps checking on us to pour the wine and bringing us hot water and water in addition to the wine flight. She is very attentive and informative; we learned much about their winery and the wines we were sampling. Their. cute little dog is also very friendly and welcoming; keep wanting to play with us. Unfortunately, Myka Cellars was a bit of a let down...I hate giving negative reviews during this time as I recognize it's hard being a business during a pandemic. We went on a weekend day and had a large group, but some basic steps were missed. We were excited by a few things on the menu, all of which were not available the day we went :(. My friend had a hair in her grilled cheese and the tomato soup was more like an onion soup. The artichoke dip was great, but super tiny portion. I won't give up on this place, but would recommend calling to see what's available on their menu before going. read more

Wine was great, service was really bad. It took us over 2 hours to complete our tasting. The server was snarky. When we arrived he told us we had pushed our reservation back an hour- we did not, I checked & confirmed via email. As we were leaving he tried blaming his slow service on us being early. Again, we were not early, the winery had been open for a few hours before we arrived, and there were maybe 2 other groups there. He was just very slow, but also rude about it. Love, love, love the food here. The flight of white was delish and they have a cute patio with comfy chairs with a very relaxed atmosphere.
