We had 10 unexpected guests all family. So we needed coffee and breakfast quick and I mean quick . I had no time to walk in and wait type of breakfast . I decided to stop by Placerville Coffee Depot. Where do I start . The helpful and pleasant staff there made my stress level go from 100 to 0! The service 10 The smile 10 The easy personal order right at the window 10 The coffee 10 But let me tell you all what made my morning . It was the breakfast burritos !!!! Great selection, I order 3 chorizo burritos, 3- sausage egg burritos , and 4 egg bell peppers burritos . I could not wait to eat so I started eating my chorizo egg burrito Holy moly! I thought for sure this was a home made burrito . Once home, everyone enjoyed their breakfast and thank me for the delicious burritos. I am going back for sure . PCD Thank you . I stoped by this great little hidden gem on my way to Tahoe & Wow!!! On top of the best customer service I tried their toasted mellow coffee per their recommendation & it was super good. Just the right amount of sweetness and coffee I was looking for. I really love finding little mom and pop shops like this to give back to the community and they just have a more personal feel from the staff. It's been many years since I've came through here. On many visits the drinks were watered down and the service was not the friendliest. I heard earlier today it was recently sold to a young couple so I thought I'd give this place a new chance. The owners were both friendly and my drink was made quickly and tasted great. It's still a walk up or drive thru and has a few tables outside. I will definitely start coming back and hopefully word gets around that it's changed hands. There's a lot of us locals that would much rather support our town's small businesses rather than Starbucks, Dutch Bros, and Dunkin'. read more

I'm no coffee expert, barista, or java junkie necessarily, but usually once a week I end up at the Depot. I get there really early, so there's usually no crowds or lines. I don't order anything too fancy, but I do enjoy the coffee in general and from my amateur perspective, I think the do a good job. The staff is quick, efficient, friendly, and in a few minutes, I'm on to my commute into town with a hot cup of good coffee and that, folks, makes me happy. They have good scones and muffins, though they always seem to be out of most of the flavors by the time I get to them, offer more robust food menuthan the other coffee stands. We found this place right when we moved here in summer. Small Drive thru, they use Peets coffee and offer alternative milks like coconut and almond.:-) Omg- their scones are to die for. They make them fresh there and very moist. Drinks are good, I usually get a Chai as I don't drink coffee, but hubby does. They are very consistent on making them the same, that's because I see the same girl there most of the time. Sometimes they run out of baked goods, understandable bc its not Starbucks(and Thank God) Its a small mom and pop type drive-thru place. I wish I wasn't on a diet, I run over there right now for a scone. One of us will be back. read more

As a small restaurant owner myself, I know first hand that you can't be perfect or please everyone 100% of the time. I was kind of surprised at some of the lower star reviews that this place has. I've only been here around four times so far and I have ZERO complaints. Yesterday I bought an iced caramel macchiato and an orange cranberry scone. Today I bought the same and added a Hot caramel macchiato. I'm not an expert on scones but these are definitely the best scones that I have ever had. As far as the coffee, I drove past at least four Starbucks to get to this place. That girl knows how to make a good cup of coffee. Customer service....like I said, I own a restaurant so I can say right now that if the young woman working this morning ever needed a job I'd hire her in a heartbeat! Nice greeting, Warm smile, clean appearance, good communication. One other thing worth mentioning is that if your latte takes a few seconds longer than Starbucks it's probably because the young lady is making sure to clean up any milk on the steam nozzle thingy and counter which I witnessed this morning. I really appreciated it since I know how important good house cleaning is when serving the general public. The car behind me didn't see her do it but they should really appreciate It as well. Great Job, Needless to say I'll be back! Update; Everything in my original review is still correct. I just found out today that the Scones are actually baked at this Coffee shop.
