Sociology has opened their second location in Placerville so we knew we had to try it before driving to Tahoe for the weekend. Ordering online is super easy and comes with descriptions. The parking lot right next door is a bit rocky but there is some street parking available as well. There is a outdoor patio in the back but it seems like its not maintained well and quite dirty. We opted to just eat in the car. They could definitely improve the outdoor area. Breakfast burrito - Just okay in my opinion. The main ingredients are egg & bacon so the only flavor profile that stands out is the salt from the bacon. Textures and flavorwise is pretty bland and boring. They could definitely improve this by adding tater tots, a creamy sauce, or some salsa. Tesora- if you like your coffee sweet, order this! The coffee is well balanced, sweet and has a cozy cinnamon finish. Final thoughts: would definitely come back for the coffee but skip the breakfast burrito next time.

I stopped by here for breakfast and coffee and this place was such a vibe! Service was great, food was hot and fresh, and coffee was delicious. Definitely a new favorite pit stop in Placerville!

The chef's bowl is delicious. Exactly what you need on a cold morning. Hearty, smoky, indulgent without making you feel heavy afterward. Perfectly fried egg. Crispy bacon. Nice touch of freshness with the micro greens. Although I personally loved the chipotle sauce, if you're not used to heat, then I'd recommend you request light sauce and maybe add avocado and tomato. But if you're like me and like chipotle, the sauce is something you can see yourself putting on everything. The Teddy Graham can also cool down the palate. I'm not one for iced coffee but I saw bourbon and you know ... sold. But really, it was well balanced and flavorful while still being able to taste coffee. The service was fast too. I'd go back to try all the other coffees and food. They all looked really good.

Oh yeah! We are fans of the Sociology in Folsom, but first time coming to the one in Placerville! Loved it! This space is HUGE! So many places to sit, which is great. I hate a super crowded coffee shop.... They also have a patio to sit outside when it's nice. We got coffees and fresh made pastries. Hubs ordered the breakfast burrito and said it was the best one he's ever had! (That's saying a lot for him)! The coffee is delicious and strong. Just the way we like it. Parking on the street or in the lot right next door!! COFFEEEEE!!

This eatery is a spin off from the Sociology in Folsom. Our Associate who served us was Camille and she was delightful serving us with energy and a smile. Both my bride and I had the turkey sandwich on sourdough and it was incredible! It comes with chips and I had the tropical ice tea which was amazing! Really like the minimalist approach to the furniture and decorations that is attracting a younger college crowd. They will be opening an event meeting room in November! I am coming back and this shop is a wonderful addition to Placerville. By the way ... Al of the baked goods are made from scratch! I know it's game on!

love that sociology is in placerville now! this feels like a much bigger space than the folsom location -- but it still brings the same charm and vibe as the OG! let's jump right in: SERVICE Camille and Tyler served us today, and really made our first visit to this location great. Tyler instantly greeted us when we walked in. Camille made our drinks and was so kind. great service from both of them in true sociology fashion! DRINKS the cold brew old fashioned was phenomenal! excellent flavor and not too sweet. the kiddos got the iced chai and said it was a 10/10 (& they're little chai connoisseurs)! PARKING lots of parking in the adjacent lots as well as street parking! VIBES always immaculate vibes at sociology. from the decor to the staff, sociology has a consistently chill vibe that just exudes happiness. looking forward to coming back to try more drink options and the food! well done on the second location sociology!

Stellar coffee and the breakfast burrito was on point would definitely recommend this low key coffee shop to everyone.

I love going to sociology, I usually go about 4-5 times a week either in the folsom or here in placerville. I absolutely love coming here Camille and Tyler are always spot on with the my coffee order and the customer service is always amazing. If you ever need a good coffee or mid day pick me up this is your place. And also the cinnamon rolls are the most delicious cinnamon rolls ever! The whole vibe of the place is amazing and always very clean. 10/10 would recommend!!!

Latte was good and the avocado toast was really great! Simple, but balanced, and really tasty! The best one I've had in a while.

They serve organic coffee and I could really taste the difference. They currently have a seasonal menu and their regular menu included some unique options. The maple latte caught my eye; I ordered it with oat milk and it was one of the best coffee drinks I've ever had. Seriously! It wasn't overpoweringly sweet, but there was enough flavor so it actually tasted like a maple latte instead of a warm milk as many special drinks end up tasting from my experience. It's always disappointing to buy an expensive coffee that doesn't have enough flavor, but you'll get what you pay for here. They offer a few little snacks and there is tons of seating (indoor and outdoor!) with beautiful natural light, art and plants. The baristas were kind and helpful and made beautiful latte art. If you love it as much as I did, you can even buy coffee beans and merchandise as well. It's tucked away in downtown placerville and I would highly recommend Pachamama to everyone!

This particular one is in Placerville, right on touristy Main Street. Well It's actually tucked in a shopping pedestrian alley right off Main Street. The coffee is delicious. I've had their various drip coffees before, all terrific tasting. My usual go to's are their lattes. This time I was in the mood for a seasonal winter drink, wintermint mocha. Yum! I ordered it with oat milk and they don't up charge. The mocha had a smooth, creamy chocolate espresso taste. I even got a pretty design of foamed milk on top of my drink. Aww it was cute. No up charge for that as well and I didn't even ask them to do it Outside the cafe is an outdoor courtyard with bistro tables for folks to sit n enjoy their coffee or whatever. I say whatever because the area is open for all to sit a spell. The courtyard is enclosed with brick buildings around its square perimeter. The buildings provide ample shade and cooling temps in the summer. Plus there is a water fountain that provides a calming zen like sound of trickling water. The cafe also has an indoor seating area. The interior furniture includes tables, sofas, lounge chairs, and high top tables aesthetically giving off modern, minimalist Scandinavian design vibes. Luvin this look.

After a long day hanging out in Apple Hill I wanted some coffee for my trip back home to Vallejo and I didn't want coffee from a franchised spot (I prefer to support local cafes whenever possible, I really enjoy spots with more of a personal community vibe) so I was lucky to come across Camino Coffee Mill. The Camino Coffee Mill is modern in style but it's not pretentious and feels like you're getting coffee while on vacation (you'll get what I'm mean once you go and see for yourself.) The barista was very friendly and patient (it always takes me a bit longer when visiting a place the first time.) While waiting for my order I saw how they made their mocha and I'd wished one (it's usually one of my go toes but I went with something different) she must have noticed the look on my face because she offered to convert my latte into a mocha just so I could have the drink I really wanted (such a kind gesture!) She also shared with me some backstory on history of the cafe and how the cafe is owned by a local couple (who bought it right before getting married) and who also owns the pizza spot right next door (which I'll be trying on my next visit!) I'm so glad I took a chance on this spot and can't wait to try another drink from their menu (maybe a chai!) If you're in the Apple Hill area and want some great coffee to start and or end your day this is the place so bring a good book and or friend to catch up with! J
