Felt like we were coming over to a family member's house for a meal like we do every Sunday. We ordered the breakfast burrito (eggs were super soft and each bite was evenly distributed between all the fillings), lake Finnon omelette (lots of sweet savory ham), and the fluffiest buttermilk pancake. We also got a warm cup of coffee, refreshing lake Finnon sunrise, and a fried doughnut (doughnut was the perfect amount of sweet and crunch). We also loved the sweet fruits and potatoes which were fried to a nice crisp with soft interior. Place is super clean and quaint. We will definitely stop by every time we are in the area. Can't wait to try their lunch menu!

The service was extremely friendly and you can tell that everyone was excited to make something great. I got the grilled Brie sandwich with mushrooms and caramelized onions and I added bacon but I should have added a patty. It was a good sandwich but needed some extra crunch, like apple/pear slices if not adding a patty. My boyfriend got the pulled pork sandwich and he absolutely loved it. The sauce had an orange tang that worked really well. The French fries were super salty and hot and fresh and we really enjoyed our meal. The views outside were great! Inside was clean but the real views are outside.

After a long day hanging out in Apple Hill I wanted some coffee for my trip back home to Vallejo and I didn't want coffee from a franchised spot (I prefer to support local cafes whenever possible, I really enjoy spots with more of a personal community vibe) so I was lucky to come across Camino Coffee Mill. The Camino Coffee Mill is modern in style but it's not pretentious and feels like you're getting coffee while on vacation (you'll get what I'm mean once you go and see for yourself.) The barista was very friendly and patient (it always takes me a bit longer when visiting a place the first time.) While waiting for my order I saw how they made their mocha and I'd wished one (it's usually one of my go toes but I went with something different) she must have noticed the look on my face because she offered to convert my latte into a mocha just so I could have the drink I really wanted (such a kind gesture!) She also shared with me some backstory on history of the cafe and how the cafe is owned by a local couple (who bought it right before getting married) and who also owns the pizza spot right next door (which I'll be trying on my next visit!) I'm so glad I took a chance on this spot and can't wait to try another drink from their menu (maybe a chai!) If you're in the Apple Hill area and want some great coffee to start and or end your day this is the place so bring a good book and or friend to catch up with! J

Perfect Spot for a Fall Day [Apple Hill|Camino CA]…read more The number of orchards in Apple Hill can be overwhelming that's why each year my eldest daughter always has a game plan to visit farms we haven't tried yet (and some repeat visits to our favorites) This was my first time at the Apple Ridge Farms. We spent most of our time here. There was a lot to do including an actual u-pick Apple orchard. Apple Ridge Farms is dog friendly. BBQ and Bakery with a full menu including sandwiches, salads and sides. They had a special on apple pies this weekend... $20 for a whole pie. Picnic Area - got our lunch and enjoyed it in the covered picnic area. Love their fries! Apple Barn - frozen pies, pastries, apple cider, fresh apples, Christmas boutique Country Store - filled with jams, jellies, fudge, chocolates, and great gift ideas Nature trail - visitors are able to choose between an easy trail and a not-so-easy trail. We chose the easy trail but I think they are both easy. Flower trail - unfortunately our visit was in early November and we missed when the flowers were in bloom. September would be the best time to visit and check out the colorful zinnias. Free to access. Gem mining - daughter has enjoyed this activity in other places since she was little. She's 23 now and still has fun with this experience. There is a fee for this activity. Pop ups Artisan Crafters - arts & crafts including wood works, handmade jewelry, handcrafted soaps and candles, paintings, dried nuts and fruits. Unique finds! Face painting - we did not do this activity due to time constraints but daughter had wanted one of Patrick Starr (SpongeBob Square Pants)... next time! Portable toilets are on-site. The bread was fresh and the apples paired so well with the sweet whipped cream. It didn't taste too eggy, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It's the kind of hospitality that's becoming rare these days, and it made our visit feel special. The atmosphere is outstanding -- a perfect blend of modern design with a fun Hawaiian Island twist. Everywhere you look, there are touches that make you feel like you're stepping into a pub on the islands, not just a local spot in the Sierra foothills. They absolutely nailed their goal of giving guests a taste and feel of the Tropics the moment you walk through the doors. We loved the food (full of bright, delicious flavors), and the rotating craft beer lineup is impressive. It was SO soft, hot, and had a good amount of cinnamon to it which I really appreciated. Get your own and don't share, you've been warned! The corn dog batter is delicious! Crispy on the outside and ever so slightly doughy on the inside while still being chewy and soft--it was so good! Not to mention the actual hot dog tasted like it was all beef, not sure if it was, but it definitely wasn't a Bar-S hot dog if you know what I mean! The hot link corn dog was my FAVORITE. Had a GREAT snap when bitten into and had a very small kick to it. I wish it was spicier but that's okay! I love a good corn dog. So if you like those Raiders of the Lost Ark vibes, then you would like sitting next to the mine for sure. It's roped off but you can hear the water dripping and it is naturally cool. The structure was originally built as a hotel in 1853 and has been well preserved. I ordered their Smith Flat House salad ($10) and the Jambalaya Risotto ($34) which consisted of Cajun-marinated prawns, lobster meat, Andouille sausage, grilled sweet corn with saffron chicken risotto. Definitely had a bit of a kick to it, the risotto was done well. My pet peeve is mushy risotto, it needs to have a slight bite to it which this one had thankfully. Love the fact that this place serves up local wines -- I couldn't recall the wine I had and they do not have their wine menu on their website.
