They don't pretend to be an amusement park and don't offer a bunch of random attractions. Instead you come here to relax, to sit with family and friends and to enjoy some delightful goodies. For our 3rd visit, we got 6 apple cider donuts ( amazing and not greasy), apple cider ( a crowd favorite), alcoholic apple cider ( pretty strong) and a apple pie ala mode ( amazing). This is for the blueberry stand at the SF Farmer's market. Stay away from this stand - the person selling you the blueberries targeted us with random aggressive and confrontational behavior. My 11 year old daughter and I came to the Ferry Building for a fun Mom and daughter morning. We hit the Rainbow Orchards stand first, for what was my first and sure to be last visit. We waited to the side while a customer who was there before us was helped, chatting about how much to get. That customer left, and he took the elderly guy who came after us first - no big deal. Then it was our turn and I asked him for 5 dollars worth and handed him a 20. I had 4 singles and a 20, and the choices were either 5 dollars worth, 8 dollars worth, or another amount I can't recall. He told my shy daughter snakily "Don't grow up to be a person who comes to the Farmer's Market and doesn't have exact change." It felt out of line for him to address her in that way. And, he's already complained about me not having exact change. Hey, either sell us the blueberries or don't, but were not here to be a sponge for your anger. So, I observed flatly, well, we don't have to buy anything. And he said, "yes, you do, because I already have your money." Okay, so another aggressive and weird response. I reached out to get the bag of blueberries, since evidently he was giving me no choice other than to buy them, and he backed up so they would be out of my reach. It was like the 4th rude thing he did that was unprovoked. I managed to get the bag and walk away, but he did ruin a chunk of our sweet trip to the Farmer's Market. I've been passing by Rainbow Orchards at least once a year for the past 10 years. The best time to come is a non-holiday weekday. The apple donuts just taste better when it's not busy. My mom loves the apple tart, but every year it gets smaller and with less apples. The woman that works behind the counter was rude at checkout. They don't really have too much inside their store. I did not order a donut, they were expensive. The outdoor are with picnic tables is pretty but the surface is dangerous for anyone who is unsteady on their feet. The grass seems to be full of gopher holes which makes it challenging to walk. Rainbow Orchards was our first stop of the day. We stopped for hot cider and a quick bite before heading off to visit six other Apple Hill stops. After visiting them all, Rainbow Orchards was definitely our favorite! Everything we ordered was a 10/10 -- the apple cheesecake, Hot Link hot dog, and especially the donut! The donuts and pies were our absolute favorites and so delicious! We also loved all the benches and seating areas, especially the large spaces where groups can sit together. Everything was clean, and having an actual bathroom was a huge plus compared to some of the other farms that only had porta-potties. We would definitely come back and make this a must-stop every time we visit Apple Hill! read more

PLEASE COME HERE!! They make their apple cider donuts TO ORDER so they come out piping hot. Everything on their menu is homemade! We also got their corn dog and hot link corn dog to try, as well as their hot apple cider. I don't even like cake donuts, but something about a freshly made HOT donut will do something to you!! It was SO soft, hot, and had a good amount of cinnamon to it which I really appreciated. Get your own and don't share, you've been warned! The corn dog batter is delicious! Crispy on the outside and ever so slightly doughy on the inside while still being chewy and soft--it was so good! Not to mention the actual hot dog tasted like it was all beef, not sure if it was, but it definitely wasn't a Bar-S hot dog if you know what I mean! The hot link corn dog was my FAVORITE. Had a GREAT snap when bitten into and had a very small kick to it. I wish it was spicier but that's okay! I love a good corn dog. The hot apple cider was on the sweeter side, it was good on that chilly day but I most likely wouldn't get it again next time because it was a bit too sweet. You have to stop by Rainbow Orchards. This is such a cute little place! Their hot cider is reasonably priced and takes off the chill on a cold autumn morning. However, plan to show up early! I've been here twice, but only hot cider once because they were so busy. There's a lot to look at in their barn but it is not enclosed, so prepare to be exposed to the elements. We drive three & A half hours up there looking forward to lunch and desert. This is one of those must-haves when you go to Apple Hill, if you don't mind the lines! Tons of seating as well as grassy areas to bring a blanket. The donuts are a must, ask for them extra crispy/double fried. Unfortunately this was the longest line I've ever seen this year, it took about 40 mins to get through the whole thing. I don't see why people like this place so much. The staff are rude and not friendly. The line was long to order food. We tried the hotlink corn dog, apple donuts, and a caramel apple. The hotlink corn dog was mediocre, the hotlink was not spicy at all. The donuts tasted like just sugar dough, didn't taste any apple flavoring. The caramel apple was very small and $7, tasted basic, and not worth it. The lady who rung us up was rude and acted like she was irritated with questions. Beautiful area right next to Larsen Apple Barn. There is a nice picnic table area surround by trees, lots of parking and a great traffic flow to prevent any back up. Restrooms were nice. They have picnic type tables, many set out under the trees. They do not have the outhouse type restrooms at this location. It's a lot better then the outhouse. I wanted to explore some of the apple Hill Farms and this spot was on the list. Have been here once previously, and there isn't a whole lot to it, they have pies and merchandise to buy such as jams and jellies and produce, but it's not quite as expensive as BOA Vista. However, we stopped here again and had their famous donuts which were amazing and I have to say actually better than Boa Vista. We also had their fresh corn dogs and those were yummy as well. Although personal preference I would've liked the corn part a little more crispy but definitely will return for the donuts and if they ever have any specials, wouldn't mind trying their pies. The staff there is very friendly and knowledgeable. I think they have more events here for our families because there's a very large space with maybe a stage for music and lots of seating plus it's beautiful around the area with the fall trees. read more

It was my husband's first time tasting real fresh apple cider donuts, and I wanted to make sure he had the best experience. I haven't tried any of the other orchard's donuts, but this is definitely a solid choice! There are scattered tables around the orchard for visitors to sit and hang out, with one part of the orchard having a shaded area where tables are situated. Otherwise, they're available all around the outside area. Just beware that not all of the tables are adult size, so the few kids tables scattered in might fool you. All in all, we had such a good time here. We got our donuts and cider, played on the tractors, and hung out in the sun for a bit.
