We drive three & A half hours up there looking forward to lunch and desert. Get to the window, order corndogs and the gal is super rude and curt, "Nope, ain't got no corndogs or food, just donuts & pie. Today is our soft opening, gotta come back tomorrow for food". Hey, thanks for nothing. Maybe you guys should have said that on your website instead of letting some people drive hours for nothing. She was so rude, we won't be back. I think this was one of the best places I've been to in Apple Hill Farms. The line was long but went reasonably quickly. However, the most amazing part were the apples cider donuts!! I usually hate donuts, and I wanted to try it just to experience the famous pastries that were from this farm. I wanted to explore some of the apple Hill Farms and this spot was on the list. Have been here once previously, and there isn't a whole lot to it, they have pies and merchandise to buy such as jams and jellies and produce, but it's not quite as expensive as BOA Vista. However, we stopped here again and had their famous donuts which were amazing and I have to say actually better than Boa Vista. We also had their fresh corn dogs and those were yummy as well. Although personal preference I would've liked the corn part a little more crispy but definitely will return for the donuts and if they ever have any specials, wouldn't mind trying their pies. The staff there is very friendly and knowledgeable. I think they have more events here for our families because there's a very large space with maybe a stage for music and lots of seating plus it's beautiful around the area with the fall trees. read more

Had some of the greatest apple cider donuts of my life at this orchard!! Came here specifically to pick up donuts and a little jug of apple cider, and wow, we loved them! It was my husband's first time tasting real fresh apple cider donuts, and I wanted to make sure he had the best experience. I haven't tried any of the other orchard's donuts, but this is definitely a solid choice! There are scattered tables around the orchard for visitors to sit and hang out, with one part of the orchard having a shaded area where tables are situated. Otherwise, they're available all around the outside area. Just beware that not all of the tables are adult size, so the few kids tables scattered in might fool you. All in all, we had such a good time here. We got our donuts and cider, played on the tractors, and hung out in the sun for a bit. For the best, fresh, warm, mouth watering Apple cider donuts - this is the place to go! It's not even a competition between them and other places. If you like apple juice, Rainbow Orchards is the best place to purchase apple juice. They have the best blend of apples to make a great tasting , naturally sweetened juice. If you come at the right times, you can see them pressing and bottling the juice through a window. They also sell a bunch of pastries in their bake shop including apple doughnuts. They have other items for sale as well such as jams, hard ciders, apples, pumpkins and some crafts. They have BBQ area behind the barn if you want to grab some lunch and picnic in their large picnic area. For me the main thing we come here for is their apple juice. We usually will purchase 1 gallon for each of us. They used to have samples of their apple juice, but this year they don't have it for some reason. 3.5 stars, but rounding up to 4. Recently did a scenic fall trip up to Apple Hill and shortlisted 4 or 5 orchards to visit. Rainbow Orchards made the list as it seemed to be THE place to try a freshly baked (er, fried?) apple donut. The venue has a large building where you can purchase apples, ciders, and also order food. We snagged a few apple donuts ($2 each) and a bottle of hard cider ($11.80). There were plenty of picnic tables outside in one main central area - some were covered and some were not. It was a great way to spend an hour or two relaxing and admiring the fall colors and having some snacks to boot. The donut was decent, but it did fall short of my expectations after all the rave reviews. It had a light cake-like texture with a dusting of sugar. I believe they're made to order, so at least it came out fresh which seemed to be the main differentiating factor vs regular donuts? I don't know how the donuts at other orchards compare, but I also felt it was a bit small (~3") as I assumed it would be the size of a standard donut. I conservatively took small bites to stretch that $2 further, haha. The cider was also OK - the cashier gave me a heads up that their ciders are more European style and not as carbonated. It was probably a notch above flat, but I didn't mind and sipped away. For photo ops, there are a few defunct tractors that you can actually climb up and sit on. While the hard cider and donuts weren't memorable (at least for me)...the venue is a terrific spot to relax and have a small picnic. I'd come back. read more

They're advertised as dog friendly, but even though the ordering area is outside-ish, dogs aren't allowed. It got hot even in late September, and it wouldn't have been safe midday. I was super excited to try their fresh apple cider donuts. They're made to order and come warm out of the fryer. It's hard to complain about a fresh donut, and it certainly wasn't bad! But honestly, I enjoyed the High Hill donuts a lot more. I also got a jug of cold cider to enjoy later. It was perfectly fine.
