This is "my" Starbucks & has been since the start of the pandemic. I started using DTs then & this was the best of several Starbucks in my area. I always had my 3 dogs w/me in the car. Servers were friendly, courteous, concerned, & expert. Rarely an error in service, & then only a tiny one. Best of all, the perks of being a regular: Partners know you, & you know them. For example, my oldest dog was gravely ill & 1 of the partners in particular, Soames, asked me about him every morning and took the time to show their concern & commiserate. This is usually one of my favorite starbucks to stop at before work. However this week has been TERRIBLE. The staff have been rude this week , this is my second day in a row that my Lavender Oat milk Matcha have been made without Lavender cold foam. Today was the cherry in top, after already being the second day my drink was made incorrectly, i politely asked if the lavender was in my drink , and they said no and started to remake it. As i was watching them remake , staff was extremely sloppy, my drink was watered down and not up to par, the lavender cold foam was also not layered at all on my drink , it was dumped in there and handed back off to me. This is the closest Starbucks to my house, and this visit was pleasant overall! They're nice and up to date on their decor, and the music is GOOD! I visited early in the afternoon and was pleased when she told me they had breakfast sandwiches left since I was there for breakfast and tea. My tea was flavorless, but IMO the Honey Citrus Mint (formerly the Medicine Ball from the secret menu) hasn't been right since they added it to the regular menu. read more

Honestly the worst customer service I have ever had in a Starbucks. Can't even name names of i wanted to because nobody wears name tags. I walked in wanting to buy some coffee beans for my new ninja coffee machine. There was a guy putting some bags up. I asked him if he could recommend one of the dark or medium roasts for sweetness. He ignored me. I asked again louder. He walked away and went behind the counter. I picked one out myself and approached the counter to pay and get a drink. I smiled and asked him if the were any chocolate chip cookies left. He did not respond. Frustrated at this point I asked if he was ready for my order. He grimaced at me and still said nothing. I told him my coffee order and asked for a chocolate chip cookie, heated up. After ringing me out he threw a cookie in a bag. It was still cold. I made my way over to the barista making my order. I asked her how her day was going. She ignored me. She put my drink on the counter and I said thank you and she shrugged and started to walk away. I took a sip and said "hey there is no flavoring or cream in this like I ordered, could I please get some?" She put a bottle of milk on the counter and walked away. I put the milk in my coffee and gave up on the flavoring. I don't feel like I was rude, and I was trying to be smiling and friendly so I don't know why everyone seemed disgruntled. They didn't seem very busy, and I don't expect a grand conversation or red carpet treatment or anything but a smile would be nice I guess. I don't know, it just really threw me off. Fast service with polite staff. My order was correct especially because Extra carmel is the key and they did just that. This location sits nestled between a business building and cvs. There is not lots of room to drive with the surroundings businesses but you still are able to maneuver just be mindful of the traffic. read more

I'm a Starbucks fan. While I've never been a huge coffee drinker, when Starbucks arrived in town that all changed. Yes, I know they're a tad overpriced. Yes, I know the coffee can be a bit bigger at times (Though I always think this comment is typical of someone who hasn't really experienced the variety that Starbucks offers). I don't care. I'm a Starbucks fan. I'm a fan of the coffee. I'm a fan of the culture. I'm a fan of their devotion to customer service. I'm a fan of their recent decision to pay for college for employees. This particular location, however, is not my favorite Starbucks location in Indianapolis. While they can still be mighty friendly at times, especially in the morning, it seems like far too often I've either experienced indifference or employees that lack the knowledge I usually associate with well-trained Starbucks employees. As a member of their "gold club," which you can equate to a frequent flyer in their rewards program, I'm fairly knowledgeable about their offerings and I expect their employees to know more than me. At this location, that doesn't always happen as was the case during my visit this evening. I arrived to take advantage of a reward that I had received called a "Lucky Dozen." The Starbucks website encourages you to tell the barista you want to use your "Lucky Dozen bonus" so they'll know to look on your card and use it. When I announced this to the barista this evening, I got a puzzled look and a "What?" While eventually a supervisor did get things figured out and it did work out, this isn't the first time at this location that I've had difficulty receiving rewards. As an added bonus (sarcasm noted), I also received the wrong receipt. As a chain, I'm a Starbucks fan. In the case of the Starbucks at 56th & Emerson, it unfortunately drops down to a "like" with occasionally great service, occasionally indifferent service, and a lack of knowledge that puts a damper on the usual warm and friendly Starbucks customer service that keeps me coming back. read more

Very rude baristas here. I placed a mobile order and showed up in the drive thru 10 minutes later when the drink was promised. I was met with attitude at the speaker box and then again at the window, despite showing up when the app told me to. The barista at the window was pushed aside for another female barista to say to us "you guys placed a huge order (three drinks consisting of two black cold brews) and showed up in five minutes so it's not our fault it's not ready." I spent a few hours at the Starbucks the other day doing some work on the computer (sometimes you just have a different scenery) I noticed that this Starbucks is a neighborhood Starbucks pretty much the people that came in know the employees. Me personally I'm not a huge Starbucks fan I don't drink a lot of coffee but the atmosphere is so calming and soothing and the smell of the coffee in the teas and pastries are somewhat relaxing. So what The Fall season they have all these new and different coffee mixes for The Fall season that customers are flocking in to get. I decided to try the iced caramel macchiato with pumpkin sauce instead of vanilla let me tell you it was an acquired taste very different yet delicious. You can earn Starbucks rewards and have a Starbucks account and you can purchase really cool glasses and cups. They have an online store where you can purchase items and coffees of all different flavors. The holidays are coming soon so there will be all kinds of gifts to purchase friends and family. Although I'm not a coffee drinker I do love the Starbucks atmosphere. read more

I guess I was spoiled at my former Starbucks location on the NW side of town off 56th & Lafayette Rd. I always received friendly greetings and smiles there. This morning 0/5 of the Baristas greeted me when I walked in and waited...waited to order. I did hear a Barista say "you have a customer" but not a "Hello! / Good Morning! / We'll be right with you!" Insert smile after any of the three options would have been great. Friendly customer service just doesn't seem to be their cup of tea or coffee. How hard can "Good Morning" be? It's interesting to see some rough reviews on here but I just went for the first time and enjoyed it! The woman working the register was very friendly in an auntie or mom kind of way, saying "you're welcome, baby" and stuff. That made me feel a bit more at home. I ordered the Sumatra but they ran out halfway through the the cup. She asked if I wanted to get topped off with something else and I said the Veranda, a bit sad since I couldn't get a full cup of what I wanted. Then she asked if I just wanted all Veranda, I said yes and she dumped out that Sumatra and told me that the next time I come she'll give me a free cup. So, yay! read more

So, the shift manager was on the phone when I walked in - didn't acknowledge me. One other barista is working drive thru - not tons of cars in line (1or2), but engaged. Oh wait, my name was just called - received my drink, but I'm thinking I may have to ask for my bakery item, hmm, yeah the barista is helping a new customer now. The kid that just came on and is taking over the DThru seems pretty sharp. Shift manager is tag-teaming the order for the new customer, I think? Another customer has come in - maybe four min ago - not acknowledged until the barista was ready to take the order. Man, I want my bakery item ... lots of gnats where I'm standing btw. Latest customer (a new one) doesn't look to pleased? Oh, just got asked if I was waiting on another mobile order - gonna get my bakery item, yes! Got it, oh & the barista apologized for the wait (that's what I'm taking about, a little acknowledgment goes a long way). Ah, Just realize the shift manager was making a big ole fancy drink just before announcing "see you after my 10 min break". I'll give another star - I don't like complaining. Just wish I could have been greeted with a "hi or hello or good afternoon" maybe a "we'll be right with you." Just a side note - no napkins, tables are dirty. I have to start by saying I'm an avid Starbucks customer and have been going to this location for a couple months now. Every time I go there, I always get amazing customer service! I usually order a grande iced "dirty" chai-tea latte, which is just a normal iced chai-tea but with a shot of espresso. I walked to an empty counter: no biggie as 2 employees were standing by, one sweeping, one just standing there. They then argued for over a minute whose job it was to take the order. One said that "Megan" told her to only do something. They talked on their headphones to someone in the back to ask for assistance. The one doing nothing finally walked over and took my order. Then a guy walked out from the back and they continued to discuss whose job it was. Then Megan walked out, and they started talking with her. In the meantime, noone is working on my order. During my wait, I bryshed an annoying fly away a few times and noticed how messy the counters - restaurant and kitchen side - looked. Very disappointing. read more

Overall, this is a pretty decent Starbucks location. They've gotten a lot faster with orders since a management change that happened about 6 months ago. Their atmosphere is quieter than most Starbucks and they very rarely run out of sandwiches and things, compared to other locations. This location ia pretty large inside and has a number of tables and chairs that are rarely, if ever full. If you want to meet someone for coffee, this is a great place and better than a lot of the other Starbucks and coffee shops nearby. There are outlets at all the tables except one, and it's relatively quiet, which means it's great for studying or getting work done too. The only big downside is that this is not the best place to get coffee if you want something quick on your way to work. This location has a large morning crowd (there are a lot of schools nearby and it's close to 465). This means that between 7 and 8 am it can take up to 15 minutes to go through the drive-through. I have noticed that if you go inside it's a little bit faster. read more

I have visited this specific location on multiple occasions, and each time i have been greeted with the same subpar/dismissive customer service. There were 4 employees there today, and each of them acted as if I was a nuisance. I have never gotten my coffee done right at this Starbucks! I get a venti Carmel iced coffee with cream and sugar and every single time it's wrong!! I would understand if I had a complicated order but I don't!! I'm usually in a hurry so I don't have time to have them redo it but this morning was my last time giving them a chance! I asked for a ice coffee and I got a hot Wednesday I didn't get any cream in my coffee and Monday I asked for a venti and I got the medium size with no sugar!!
