    Super Food Scramble
    Chelle K.

I've been to Squeeze In 4 times before this review and have always enjoyed my experience, so maybe my visit last Sunday was just an off-day? I ordered the Super Food Scramble because I wanted something healthy and not too heavy. The scramble came with egg whites, spinach, broccoli, red bell peppers, zucchini, and added the turkey sausage for an additional charge. The scramble came with a nice serving of fresh fruit with melons, strawberries, pineapple, and blueberries and an English muffin. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito with turkey sausage and potatoes. Our food took a while to come out, at least 20 minutes. My food looked great, but the scramble was watery and had no flavor. I tried putting Chalula on it, but it didn't make up for the watery texture. The service started off great, but since it was an hour before close, everyone was busy trying to get their sidework done and it was difficult to get refills on iced teas and coffees. We just did without. My husband's burrito and potatoes also had no flavor. A little disappointing in terms of food quality and service. Although the experience could have been better, we'll probably try Squeeze In again sometime in the future. Modesto needs more fun and cool breakfast spots like this one.

I've always wanted to check this place out because of the reviews and finally got my chance. First off if you're going on the weekend be prepared to wait. There's usually a line, ok that's a positive sign the place is good. When we were called to a table my excitement was noticeable. My friend snickered I'm sure. As we walked into the funky establishment I looked at the patrons food. Yes, I admit it. So may options are listed on the menu. I go for savory of course while he, of course, goes for sweet. He ordered some sweet pancake thing As we waited for our...food and waited for our drink..it was crowded ok! Making a point here! I lo9ked around at the walls, the ceiling and the crazy decorations. Again a funky vibe with bright colors, alien stuff and whatever else. We liked the place a lot and have been back several times. With the cost of the world nowadays we don't go out as much as we used to. But when I stay over his place, he lives closer, and we have extra cash and wake up early enough we try to come in here for breakfast.

Service was good very welcoming pretty cool surf atmosphere place. I got the pancakes with a butter honey special sauce. It was really good and I got a side of sausage. Also, good my husband got a bacon cheeseburger, which was awesome with garlic fries. Everything was good and we got that special bloody Mary, which was like lunch in a mug flavor was nice and spicy

This place is squeezed In (see what I did there?!) a corner of the Raley's shopping center. It is open for breakfast and lunch but gets really busy during weekend brunch time. There is both inside and patio seating. I love their menu! It's fun to read, and it has pictures for all sorts of items. There are a lot of items to choose from, but that never has diminished the taste or timing of the food. The food is more of comfort style, with some creative ideas in there as well. I believe Bobby Flay featured them on one of his TV shows, which is why several dishes are named after him (maybe not this particular one - they are a small chain but must be franchised?). This one is owned/run by a mother and son, if I remember correctly, and they do a great job! Everyone is super friendly and service is prompt and attentive, with everyone helping each other out, whether it's bringing the food, refilling, water, or coffee, or checking in at the tables. We told them that we were on a lunch break break and they made sure to get us in and out on time, since we came during a break in the crowds. They have different items you can order if you have allergies. This is great since I avoid gluten. In fact, when I was ordering, I asked if they had something on the menu, which they didn't, but they had the ingredients, so they made it for me. Cream cheese scrambled eggs with green onions on top! Yum! Talk about making the customer happy! Most plates seem to run about $15-$20, but the portions are good sized. Most of the time, I have leftovers to take home. Give this local place a try!

This is hands down one of my favorite breakfast spots in Modesto. The service is always great and the overall Vibe of this place is just great all around. The food is always fresh and delicious and the drinks are always a hit and I love that you can make em a double for those mornings that really need it. Definitely a must try if you're ever in town!

What a fun experience! Quirky atmosphere that makes you wonder what the food will be like. Let me tell you...not disappointed! I had the Hangover omelette; so much meat was packed into it! The eggs were perfectly cooked, meat was flavorful, and the hash browns were the perfect amount of crispy! Tried the Jack fosters banana pancake (minus the walnuts) and can I just tell you I had a religious experience!! All of the staff were friendly and came to check on us throughout our meal. We will be back!!

This worked fine for us. We had our menus and drinks in a reasonable time, and had a relaxing time throughout. We both had the pulled pork sandwich along with the ice tea. My friend, whom I realized often fusses about the meals we share, was more critical. His comments were "Wrong bun, hamburger bun shoulda been an onion bun" and "How long does it take to make a sandwich?" (The wait time was totally reasonable to me.) He didn't like the potato salad (but ate it all with little time spared). He liked the meat in the sandwich, giving it a 5 out of 5. He liked the service less (I felt it was on point and just fine.) The twisted pig is a good place to eat, if it is noisy inside (as it often is) check out the patio.

The "hamburger" was clearly made from frozen patties with no flavor or effort put into it. Bad food and questionable service -- definitely not worth the money.

My party was seated fairly quickly. Our waitress took all our orders by memory - we were a party of 8! I got the Chicken Marsala: Chicken, sauce, mixed veggies, mashed potatoes, and gravy. I started off with the mixed veggies - they were cooked soft, just how I like them. They were also flavorful! Not just regular ole steamed frozen veggies, they definitely were buttered and seasoned or something. Next, the mashed potatoes. I'm not a mashed potato connoisseur - matter of fact, I usually skip eating mashed potatoes when they're available. These mashed potatoes however were so flavorful! And it was not only the gravy doing all the talking, it was both the mash and the gravy. I was impressed! Lastly, the chicken Marsala. The chicken itself was cooked to perfection, moist on the inside & fully cooked - and with chicken breast, we all know how hard that is to accomplish. The sauce was incredible. I have never had any Marsala sauce as good as that. So much flavor, very savory. Altogether, the flavors worked together and worked perfectly. If only I wasn't an hour away, I would come here more often. I hope to be here again someday!

I showed up around 7pm and I thought it might have been closed because no one was here. But they were open. I ordered a Bauer burger with the house seasoned fries. They asked how I'd like the egg cooked and the burger cooked: I asked for medium for both. Given how dead the place was, it did take a minute to get my food. The burger was ok, not worth $21. The bun fell apart very quickly which is a bit of a cardinal sin in the burger game. The bacon on the burger was not bacon strips but a bit of bacon crumble. The patty was a bit overcooked so it was dry and it wasn't seasoned so it was bland. The egg was cooked perfectly, but the aioli and the egg yolk with a disintegrated bun made for a huge mess. The fries were interesting. The house seasoned fries are not salted. So the fries were almost sweet due to the spices, but no salt. And they do not have regular table ketchup or malt vinegar. I did ask for some ketchup and they brought me their house ketchup. While not like a classic ketchup, it was actually quite good. Oh, be aware. They will charge you a 4% fee when they bring you the check (what would have happened if I'd paid with cash?). I do not see anywhere on the menu where they say their is a payment fee so that is a pretty shady business practice. Overall: meh. Here, you order your food, grab a number, and find your own seat for the food to be brought out to you. We sat at a table outside to decide what to order. There were no menus available so we just had to search for it online before heading inside to order. Despite being third in line from the register, we had an extremely long wait to order. There was only one person running the register who also had to make the drinks, meaning the service incredibly slow. We wanted to order the five taco platter, garlic fries, chicken Caesar salad, and mimosa pitcher. Sadly, we were only able to get the pitcher and salad. The cashier told us "sorry, we aren't doing fries right now." Not doing fries? Every plate in the vicinity had fries on them. She said that because it was brunch hour, only food on the brunch menu could be ordered. We looked at the brunch menu again and literally saw garlic fries as an option as a side for the burgers/sandwiches. No where did it specify that you can't order off the other menu and both were available online. What bothered us about this is that we placed this order at around 1:50pm, and brunch ended at 2:00pm. I understand that we are not entitled to things on the lunch menu during brunch-time for items like the tacos, but considering the menu swap was less than 10 minutes away and they were quite literally were "doing fries" at the time, it didn't make much sense to us. The only food that we ended up ordering was the Chicken Caesar Salad. This one dish took a super long time to receive. By the time it was brought out, the three of us nearly finished the Mimosa pitcher. The waitress noticed we had no silverware and said she would go grab us some. Because of how the service had been going thus far, we placed a bet on whether or not the waitress would come back with the silverware. Surprise, surprise. She didn't. We had to go inside later and search for silverware ourselves. We weren't even able to get sharing plates which was upsetting since the waitress asked us if we would be sharing the salad. The salad itself looked delicious, but was bland. The dressing was missing that zing and zest that a Caesar dressing typically has. I do appreciate that is was a chopped salad, had avocado, and seasoned croutons. It is just unfortunate that it was lacking any flavor at all. The food prices are quite affordable for the quantity of food you receive though. This experience was disappointing because I was so optimistic about the place. The menu looked good, it had fun and casual vibes and a cool crowd of people. If Commonwealth worked towards better service practices, it would have been a more positive experience.
