my boyfriend & i did sunday breakfast here. the food was good, but it was not amazing. part of me feels that just might have been the dish i picked. (i want to come back to try something else instead). but, aside from the food, the staff was incredibly nice. they have a very cute set up outside, & i love that they treat dogs like customers too! the place could be a little bigger. it was a little crammed, but if you sit outside, you're in the clear. it was a very nice place, but not memorable as i was hoping it would be. i would rate it between 3-4 stars, but because of the staff being so attentive and nice, i give it 4! read more

This place was awesome! Their banana pancakes are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good! You could seriously share this with someone else because of how generous the serving is! Seemed unorganized, we waited outside and the only two times waitstaff came out to call a name, it was the same name, they were already seated. Very expensive for what is offered. 4 of us had breakfast ranging from the Mighty Aztec omelette, to one of their eggs Benedict options. We also had the foo, and a scramble type breakfast with eggs, bacon, and potatoes I think? Anyway while the food tasted good, we expected to be wow'ed for the price paid. $50 for two adults and a child's meal is outrageous considering my wife and I had water with our meals. I have been waiting to try this place - I do love that there is another restaurant (not bar) that I can get a Bloody Mary (BM) at in the mornings and it was delicious! I was SO excited to hear this place was opening up. Close to home and with outside patio (so we can bring our dog along with us.) Figured we'd try 1 last time with lunch items. Still bad. Food is not very flavorful. Standard bacon n eggs are okay, but their omlettes were soggy n the flavor combos are just not my thing I guess. Soooo.....pretty nice ambiance. The interior is cool and hippyish and the music is totally rad. The food....ehhhh....not so great. Wife ordered a breakfast burrito and it was wrong. I was very disappointed with my first visit here. The food looked great but thats as close as we got to food just by looking. The staff were bickering with each other and it seemed unprofessional to argue about money and payments. When we had been sitting waiting for our table for what seemed like 30 minutes an older man walked in and was hugging and talking to one of the staff members. The staff member took this older gentlemen to an open table and sat him down and was serving him. He didn't get his name taken or even wait to get a table he just got sat down the moment he walked in. Awesome food , awesome staff, Laurie, Ken so courteous and patient. First time there unfortunately worse experience because of the element there. Horrible week just wanted to go to a nice and calm place to enjoy a nice brunch with my son whom is" WHITE " (as you read further will understand my reason for caps and emphasis of white) was paying, unfortunately was not a great idea. Wish the staff or manager would've stepped in and notified the manager/ owner that this element was being a real problem. Nothing like brunch with a side of activisim and hate towards the "white people, how white people are the problem"! ugggh, unforgetable experience, what a shame. Ken and Laurie thank you for doing your best in lightening the mood, God Bless You, but it was ruined once we sat down. Hopefully the owner will step in and start walking around and let people know that there is no room for such behavior in such a hip and what seemed like a calm establishment. This place looks cool. Customer service was great, food was not. Had an omelette and a taco salad. I've had better taco salads at hospitals. The omelette sounded great on the menu but was poorly executed. The hash browns tasted​ like they were cooked in old grease. The biscuit was delicious, the gravy was not. I should have had the biscuit with butter and jelly. I was really jazzed to try this place, then was really disappointed. The menu looks awesome, the food just wasn't. This is one of the only places for brunch in Modesto and I am not going to complain. The food was really good, the portions are huge, the average person won't even finish everything.
