The entree items were really well done, we had the Spanish Omelette and the Chicken Fried Steak, both very flavorful and would order again. The sides like Country Potatoes, Hashbrowns, Pancakes and Biscuits and Gravy were all very average. Overall I was full. This place is on Yosemite in a little shopping center and is pretty small inside, maybe a handful of tables. Decor is coffee related. Coffee was decent, it feels like a sister restaurant to Bob's in Ceres CA but I'm not sure. Now not to be negative, this was my experience and it was a busy Sunday morning. I have to be honest, I cannot give this place more than three stars. I don't see how this establishment has higher rating than three stars. I ordered what I usually order at any new breakfast restaurant, the corned beefhash, and eggs. And their country potatoes are just thinly sliced potatoes not roughly cut potatoes with veggies like what country potatoes should be. It was average at best. Ok we found this place by accident and I don't think I'm ever gonna eat at another breakfast place the portions are HUGE ! The hashbrowns are the best I've ever had in life I was shook I ate half of them before even starting my omelette... Then I tasted the omelette and almost died it is so fresh so flavorful and so good.bthey allowed me to add mushrooms which was amazing and fresh just as the other ingredients. The biscuits were some of the softest fluffiest biscuits I ever had the gravy is creamy and rich but not to heavy. I spent a lot of time eating this meal cuz I wanted to savor every bite. I came 45 minutes before closing and the lady that was there claimed to be the owner and she was just sitting on the table talking to someone and told me they are closed and I can't order but the sign says "open" and it was 100% empty. First time at Modesto Cafe. Found the place on Yelp. As soon as we walked in we knew we were going to be eating something delicious. The aromas coming from the kitchen really set for what was to come. The waitress was very pleasant, quick and checked in on us perfectly. Food arrived about 10 ish minutes after ordering. The food here is good. I wouldn't say it's spectacular. I ordered The Supreme Omelette. I should have read the menu a bit closer as it said it has Spanish Sauce. I am not one to put ketchup on my eggs or anything of the sort. The Spanish Sauce is basically a watered down version of ketchup. Aside from the sauce, the omelette was good. I had a biscuit with gravy and two pancakes. The biscuit and gravy lacked flavor. I also had country potatoes as my side. The service was friendly. I only wish I would've been informed about the ketchup/Spanish Sauce on the eggs because there is a very high percentage of people that do not like that. The service was very hospitable and they were very quick to serve our needs anytime we needed anything. I ordered the chilaquiles which came with came with the option of toast, biscuits with gravy or French toast. The chilaquiles were delicious although more on the acidic side. They tasted very authentic! The potatoes were slices and seasoned perfectly! And the French toast was sweet and savory. Been here twice food was decent but this third time food was terrible and i didnt eat it and there was no effort to compensate in any way even a little. There was an issue with the card reader thing and checked my account in the parking lot and seen it charged me twice.
