The Cowboy Benedict was a nice delicious surprise! Tri tip? Good. Biscuit? Good. Eggs? Goood. All the staff were polite, attentive, & on top of things. While being quite busy, we still got our food relatively quickly. Would definitely come back again.

    Cinnamon roll (eggless) very good.

Friendly but busy service. Good food, could be improved. Biscuits were as good as expected. Salad was sad sad iceberg lettuce and dressing could be improved. Also prices were pretty high even for senior plates ($15.99- egg, toast/biscuit, meat). Cobb salad $18.99 (full) half $15.99- iceberg 99%, as mentioned above was largest disappointment. Bacon was pretty good, full slices were cut up. Coffee was excellent $3.99 - Clayton coffee. Very good body and no sour. Orange juice $8.99 L size. Pretty pricey and really too sweet- too much sugar. Home fries $5.99 for a side - or else I would have ordered it, looked very well made. Fruit $5.99 for a cup

First time trying this place that I've heard coworkers have recommended me to try. Came here on a Saturday morning and the place was busy and had a 15 minute wait. We asked the waitress her recommendations and she suggests their biscuit (2 for $6.99) and green chilaquiles which is a Mexican style breakfast. So the biscuit- it was okay and there were a lot of jellies and jams provided. I usually get biscuits for free in other restaurants so I don't think it was worth paying for it. Nothing special. 3 stars The Green chilaquiles- we decided to share a plate, added avocado. Item was $17.99, $2.25 added for splitting a plate... and $2 for avocado. Not sure how I feel about adding a charge for sharing a plate. Breakfast was fine. I'd probably go for a traditional American breakfast in the future. So for me, it was a 3 star. Now that I've tried this place, I don't think I will be a regular customer since the wait isn't worth it for a local breakfast place.

This was my first time eating here with my co-worker who mentioned this amazing restaurant to me. We had brunch, the service was amazing and the food was delicious. This place is a hidden treasure in Modesto, I plan to have my whole family come here for brunch one day

Food a bit pricey, but service extremely good always someone asking if you need anything and coffee pouring never stops. Although I wish coffee would be more hot got mine lukewarm every single time. Space nice yet, too many tables those 2 seated tables too small can't fit much. Food- chicken friend steak very good as for chilaquiles disappointed the sauce cold which made them cold.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted right away--definitely recommend getting there early. We sat at the counter bar, were greeted again, and had our drink order taken promptly. The coffee was on point. I asked for a recommendation and went with the chicken fried steak breakfast, and the homestyle potatoes were delicious. Thank you, we'll definitely be driving from Fresno to visit again definitely 5 star place PS the locals were also very friendly and helpful in ordering food..!

Spicy Chicken Sandwich** Not spicy in my opinion, but still good

Let me start by saying, even though you'll see the crowd outside waiting for their table, be patient because the wait is QUICK! They provide water outside on a cute little cart while you wait! The inside of the restaurant seems very intimate and homey in the aspect of you having breakfast at someone's grandma's house. Very fitting for the theme! Down to the uniforms, I loved the style and simple decor the establishment was pushing. Their homemade biscuits and strawberry jam are truly the star dish here. Biscuits come out fresh, warm, fluffy, with a light crisp on the outside. The jam is sweetened to the perfect amount, you can truly tell there are no artificial flavors in this jam! Same with the cinnamon bun, you can taste the freshness and with the best gooey center. I'd say the only real disappointing dish was the billionaires bacon, in my personal opinion I would have liked more seasoning/spice/black pepper added to enhance the flavor. Same with the spicy chicken sandwich, there was zero spice present. Still a delicious sandwich although, just not the spice level I was expecting. But if you're someone who's sensitive to spices or different flavor profiles, you'll be fine trying either of those dishes. Solely my own opinion, I was expecting more from them. Nonetheless, I will absolutely be coming back to get another round of biscuits and to explore the menu more!

This is the second time we've visited. Wait times are typically long, especially on a weekend but it's well worth it! Highly recommend trying the biscuits with whipped butter and homemade strawberry jam. Staff is incredibly attentive and helpful. I definitely need to come back to try their lunch items.

Pictures speak for themselves. Top notch place, great food, definitely a treat for brunch!! Hard to find southern food in California and this was great! Note we are from California not the south so do what you will for that. Coffee refills on demand- what else is more perfect?

I actually enjoyed this place. The food was delicious & we had really fast service. It was super busy and we got a table for two right away. Giving it three stars because our silverware on the table was noticeable dirty. We also had to remind our server to bring us a coffee refill twice so that was annoying.

The Biscuit Basket is small and very busy -- so definitely be prepared to wait! That said, they do such a thoughtful job taking care of guests while you wait. The complimentary coffee out front is such a nice touch and instantly sets the tone. We walked in with a party of 8 while visiting, fully expecting a long wait (they told us up to 50 minutes), but we were pleasantly surprised and seated in about 20 minutes instead! Huge win. Our server was great -- helpful, patient, and super friendly. Once seated, the food came out pretty quickly too. I ordered the chilaquiles, and they were delicious -- the chips stayed crunchy (not soggy at all!), and the green sauce had just the right kick. My vanilla latte was also pretty delicious. My niece ordered the breakfast burrito and gave it a 10/10, literally excited with every bite. My husband really enjoyed his country fried steak with biscuit and gravy. The only miss for our table was the cinnamon roll -- my nephew felt the texture was a bit off. Now we totally get why this place is always packed. When a spot is this busy all the time, you know the food is good. Definitely worth the wait -- we'd absolutely come back!

I love this place! The chilaqueles is delish, the cinnamon roll is divine, the French toast is great, the eggs are fluffy! The chicken Fried chicken is yummy...... the biscuit doesn't have an aftertaste. Crispy yet moist Service is awesome, especially from the lady who comes with the building!!! We will stop in everytime we get a chance!

We had been wanting to visit for awhile, but every time we stopped by there was a wait - get there early especially on weekends! So we stopped in on a random weekday off and OMG... this spot is amazing!! We never have found it if it wasn't for Yelp since it's not in an area I'd ever think to visit for breakfast. First and foremost, the service is so friendly. There are staff literally everywhere constantly circling and helping and checking in. And it's also FAST! Our food came out in what seemed like only a few minutes. We got the fancy bacon, biscuits and gravy, a cowboy omelette, and a cinnamon roll: The cinnamon roll is the second best cinnamon roll I've ever had!!! (Hard to beat Moss Rose in Oakdale) It's huge and comes out warm with a huge amount of not-too-sweet frosting. Plenty to share between two people. The biscuits are the best I've ever had! Super flakey, buttery, and smothered in delicious sausage gravy. I went with the a la carte side option of 2 biscuits and gravy but they do have a biscuit plate that also includes eggs and sides. My boyfriend got the omelette and it filled the plate - it also included SO many home fry potatoes that were incredible. They weren't crispy but were super flavorful and buttery. We got the billionaire bacon as a starter and that was the only thing that left us underwhelmed. For $15, you get 4 slices of bacon. Yes, it's thicker bacon and the flavors are good, but I wish it had been crispier and was a little more flavorful. (My dad used to make a similar recipe baked in the oven so my comparison is to that) There was lots of seating inside, a mixture of booths and tabletops and even seats at the bar looking towards the kitchen. Not a lot of seating to wait but I'm pretty sure they text you when your table is ready so it's easy to wait in your car right there. If there's a line, don't let it deter you! It's worth the wait!

My party was seated fairly quickly. Our waitress took all our orders by memory - we were a party of 8! I got the Chicken Marsala: Chicken, sauce, mixed veggies, mashed potatoes, and gravy. I started off with the mixed veggies - they were cooked soft, just how I like them. They were also flavorful! Not just regular ole steamed frozen veggies, they definitely were buttered and seasoned or something. Next, the mashed potatoes. I'm not a mashed potato connoisseur - matter of fact, I usually skip eating mashed potatoes when they're available. These mashed potatoes however were so flavorful! And it was not only the gravy doing all the talking, it was both the mash and the gravy. I was impressed! Lastly, the chicken Marsala. The chicken itself was cooked to perfection, moist on the inside & fully cooked - and with chicken breast, we all know how hard that is to accomplish. The sauce was incredible. I have never had any Marsala sauce as good as that. So much flavor, very savory. Altogether, the flavors worked together and worked perfectly. If only I wasn't an hour away, I would come here more often. I hope to be here again someday!

The service was good and the atmosphere was pleasant, but at these prices, and the taste of old grease from the grill, I could not recommend this restaurant. The bill was $39.97 and we did not have anything to drink! Go democrats! Lol!

My friend, whom I realized often fusses about the meals we share, was more critical. He didn't like the potato salad (but ate it all with little time spared). He liked the meat in the sandwich, giving it a 5 out of 5. He liked the service less (I felt it was on point and just fine.) I mean, I was surprised there were any left at the end of lunch because they were so good. Then there was the deep fried pickles. Pickles are just something that you have to either love Em or you hate Em. But deep fried pickles are just that sour taste that I just have to have. I have to have a sweet and a sour and pickles are just that for us. So we enjoyed them. They were just crispy enpugh on the outside with just a nice firm bite of the pickle, tender. And then that bitterness was really good. And then our main meal came, and there is enough food on that platter for two people to share. So if you're getting it for one, you better be a hearty guy like you gotta be a lumberjack guy to eat this all by yourself. Because this is like a platterful. There is like 6 ribs on that plate, 2 mouds of the pulled pork, 2 big huge scoops of macaroni n cheese and like a bag of those tater tots, then they drizzle, drizzle, drizzle, barbecue sauce. All over it, it was just like mouthwatering. When it hit the table. It smelled so good, it was just amazing. And then we just dove in a little bit, tried this a little bit of that, the ribs fell off the bone. It was so good. Now the restaurant is small and looks like it is a locals kinda spot so it is semi loud with sports and men chopping it up, but there were ladies sitting at various tables and a couple of families so it is semi family friendly if you dont mind the bar aspect that is bigger than the eating area in my opinion. We only seen one staff member on the floor and one behind the bar while we were there, but the service was quick and the ladies were attentive so it was a good experience. The decor needs an update and it had a 4 out of 5 vibe for me, but I rate food not people so I would go back for that.

So I ordered the #26 Mongolian beef combination that has fried rice and chow mein. The fried rice and chow mein is already premade and behind the glass counter. The chow mein had a little pork with their noodles. Lucky for me, the Mongolian beef was cooked to order and just took about 6 mins wait. To me, this is what I consider the ideal Mongolian beef. Thin beef slices that is brown in appearance with a nice glaze. It comes with tons of green onions, chili peppers and onions and topped with crispy rice noodles. Theres a nice "hot" as in flavor taste to it but not strong. It's my favorite and I feel this beats Panda Express any day. 5 stars The place probably is busier during lunch being downtown so when i picked up my order, it was close to 5 pm and wasn't that busy. Thing that I notice is their menu on the wall says $12.50 for my #26 Mongolian beef combo and when I ordered 2, the guy just used his memory to punch in $28.85 on my credit card. So sales tax is 8.88% now and when I did the calculation, it should have been less. Not sure whether they didn't update their wall menu price. But that kind of irked me since I know some places charge an added fee for using a cc (which they have no disclosure). Either way, don't rely on their wall prices if you order there in person. Door dash has this priced at $15 for pick up but i ordered it at the counter when I got there. Still, one of the better Chinese food in Modesto
