I recently had lunch here for the first time. I ordered the $24 fish and chips and my friend ordered an $18 cheeseburger with french fries. Both of our french fries were definitely pre-cooked and then dropped in the fryer to finish them once we place the order, if you've ever worked in a restaurant, I'm sure you know that trick, it significantly changes the texture of the french fry. My fish was so battered and overcooked, the breading cut the inside of my mouth, and it was like chewing through a rock, I ended up having to use a knife and a fork to extract the overcooked fish inside. My friend tried to order his burger, medium rare, and was told by the waitress, they only do well done, usually a good indicator of untrained cooks or pre-cooked frozen burgers, which is exactly what it was, the color inside was an unusual gray color. Texture was super chewy, and his fries were the same as mine. 61 or $62 for fish and chips, a cheeseburger and a couple of iced teas and a decent tip, probably wouldn't stop there again. read more

Service was very good, unfortunately the food was not. The burgers were mediocre at best and the meat was dry and tasteless. The chicken dish was overcooked and lacking in flavor other than the capers. Very disappointing and overpriced for the quality of the food. I've eaten here a few times in the past, and it is extremely hit or miss. read more

Called ahead of time and was able to place our names on a waitlist. Parking is bery limited but fortunately we were able to fond a parking not too far away. Once we arrived our table was ready and we were seated right away. The place was pretty busy, but the staff was definitely nice and attentive. Ordered our food and it came out pretty quick. Prices were all over the place. Some plates were 20sand others 50s. The memu has many outings which we liked. The appetizers we got was okay. Different but probably wouldnt order again. The steaks were good. Overall we would probably come back if we are craving a meaty meal. read more

I was excited to try this restaurant, but after going there, I don't think I would go back. The staff was friendly, but they were understaffed To say they were slow would be an understatement. Being understaffed is one thing, but the quality of the food is another. Something is up with their soft drinks. I don't know if it was soap in the glasses or what. But the soft drinks all had a funky taste even the different flavors. It took forever for our order to get taken. And then when the food came, I was pretty disappointed in my order. I ordered the Wagyu cheeseburger which wasn't cheap and was on like a Texas toast. The burger itself only covered about half the toast and was cut in half as you'll see in the picture. The problem is that there was way more toast than there was burger, which is what I ordered. I didn't just order toast. I wanted a burger. The coleslaw was very runny and I wouldn't order that again. Overall my order wasn't worth the price I paid this place was busy and maybe we caught it on an off day but I'm thinking that I would never go back. read more

We came here twice and really enjoyed it. Service was very friendly, the beer selection was varied and the multiple TVs were perfect for sports fans. The food was good pub fare. Loved the burgers and especially the nachos. Parking is a breeze and since I have some mobility issues, I appreciated the entrance, exit and bathroom situation. Servers are always incredibly kind, accommodating, and quick, food is always amazing, and we're in an out quick! My go-to is the carne asada tacos, but you truthfully cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Have been coming here since I was a kid and will keep going forever! read more

Boomshakalaka, came across this hidden gem after missing my exit to downtown Stockton and took a chance getting off on Main Street in Ripon. I am so glad that I did since Ripon California is a charming old western town with a rich history and cool buildings. While downtown Ripon is very small it features many restaurants and I decided to give this place a try because it appeared the most appealing to me from all the choices given. I immediately knew I was in the right place as soon as I stepped inside the restaurant since it was packed. Even though the place was very busy I was lucky enough to find a chair at the bar. There were only a few seats left upon my arrival. The bartender Vanessa behind the bar was very attentive and gave me great recommendations on the drinks and the food menu. My fish taco salad I ordered looked great and was amazingly big and enough to feed a whole family! It's very flavorful and I enjoyed it tremendously. I loved everything about it from the ingredients to the unique salad dressing which made this a satisfying and delicious meal! 5 stars for reasonably priced food, great atmosphere and fantastic service! What an unexpected surprise! I was a little skeptical when I couldn't see their menu online, but thank you to whomever has posted pics of the hard copy. Took a small group to dinner and everyone enjoyed their meal- hard to make a group of eight completely satisfied, so you know it's good all around. Heard good things about the steak, the salmon was a large portion and tasty, asparagus was plump and the risotto was a hit. From the looks of the loaded mashed potatoes, they would have been just as good. I'm not local, so maybe this isn't as much of a hidden gem as I feel, but I'm glad we have it a try! read more

This used to be a go to spot for me several years ago. We ordered burgers. They came RAW! Sent them back and when my girlfriend finally came back it was the wrong burger. It wasn't even her original order. So back it went again! When she finally got the burger it was burnt! Not even well done but cremated! Can't complain! Came here for Father's Day with my family (my first father's day & had my dad & uncle with me, too.) and it went great! My uncle chose this spot & even though it was about an hour away from home, it was worth while. Luckily we came here, because it was not too busy. There was a good amount of people, but not as busy as it would be elsewhere for Father's Day. Our waiter (man with the beard in the Yeezy's) was great. He was super nice & friendly. There were a few mistakes made by the kitchen & he was not hesitant on getting it fixed. I had gotten the rib tips with a side of coleslaw & green beans with onions & bacon. The coleslaw was delicious! & compared to most places, this place gives you an actual cup of coleslaw, not a tablespoon of it!! The green beans were pretty good too with the onions & bacon. The rib tips were amazing! There was a decent sized portion on my large plate. Nice crust to the tips, perfect amount of sauce, too. Not drenched in sauce & it was not dry either. There was so much food, I brought home my leftovers & had it for breakfast (literally just ate them 15 minutes ago prior to writing this review). Only great things to say about this little place. I'm sure maybe mostly only locals know about it ( I'm not a local) but this place sure does deserve the business they get. read more

First time going to celebrate my dad's birthday! I absolutely loved the fish and chips I ordered. It almost had the same flavor that a restaurant that I would often go to in SF has. I'm a little from my hometown so it was both nostalgic and delicious to be eating this. I will be returning even if I go alone! I loved it that much. read more

This place was such a delight. After having to leave another restaurant over sitting in our table for 25 minutes with no service, this place was an absolute breath of fresh air. We were seated right away, had drinks in minutes, our order taken promptly and food brought out shortly after. Our waiter was awesome. My husband and I each got a sandwich. The Ripon Roadhouse is the sister restaurant to the Boathouse in Lathrop. The menus are similar, but the Roadhouse has a fryer they use to good advantage. Simple things like fries and wings come out just right in the hands of pros. Throw in their batter fish and chips and you're on the escalator up to a good food experience. Every time I've been there, the wait staff has been very polite and helpful. The place has a local feel like a good roadhouse should. A real solid joint. read more

So when I first started going here food was great. That was in 2025. Fish awesome. I went today to get fish tacos that I love. I had to sit outside cause my puppy was with us in a stroller for dogs. Of course the out door area was not clean not many eat out there although it wasn't cold and a sunny day. It took the 3rd gal to come out to get a rag to clean the table top but she didn't the chairs so we sat down in the dust. I was excited to order my fish tacos! But it came out 2 tacos not 3 and like 1 piece of fish cut in half for a little piece in each taco. I thought Ok 20 bucks for this? I got less food and less fish? Not great. The gal came out finally after half the meal to give me napkins but didn't even notice we needed refill drinks. I went inside to pay as she didn't come back for a bit. I told her there wasn't much fish I ate coleslaw tacos. She said sorry maybe next time. And that they don't get cod any more they get something else. I'm thinking ok a 50 dollar lunch and my daughter got cold fries before they were outside and a small piece of chkn on a huge ciabatta bread plain? I think I'm not excited to go back here. Found this gem here on Yelp when we were visiting the area and trying to find a place for lunch. I had the fish n chips and an ice cold IPA. The fish was nice and crispy, the coating stayed on the fish well, and the portion was huge. The coleslaw was fresh and not at all soggy, and the fries were well cooked. We were greeted at the door by the manager who himself went and had a table cleared for us. Our server was sweet, very attentive, and we had a wonderful experience. Set on the Main Street block, this place is pretty much what you would expect from a "Roadhouse"... old brick front exterior opens up to a brick and dark wood interior. Service was just ok on our visit for lunch. Food was good, but pretty typical burger, red meats, and a fish and chips lunch menu. Nothing outstanding or 'wow' worthy. read more
