There was something for everyone, and it made it fun trying different options and finding favorites. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which I really appreciated. Located in a food plaza tucked away in a little neighborhood. The location is clean and feels safe. I didn't take pictures of the inside/outside decor but it's neat. Lots of spots for instagrammable pictures. Service was nice and quick. Only one server and she was super friendly. I ordered the fish and chips- opted for the garlic fries. I was eager to try it after seeing pictures of it on IG. However I was left a bit disappointed. I got two pieces of fish that weren't very big. It was quite salty even with the lemon wedges. The garlic fries were decent, crispy but very greasy after taste. My best friend got the chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. She was even more disappointed. Was in the area to take the kids rock climbing down the road. We were hungry and I was looking places up and this looked pretty good. All 3 of us ordered root beer and they were out. We got the bacon nachos fries. They were waffle fries with beer cheese, tomatoes, guacamole, sour cream, bacon, jalapeños and green onion. The beer cheese is really good! We added the short rib to it and it was super flavorful and tender. We did notice some weird cooked pieces of celery, but maybe it came with the meat. We also ordered the appetizer sampler. It comes with Nashville hot chicken tenders with pickles, wings, pizza pretzel with marinara, jalapeños poppers and celery and carrots. It also said choice of 4 sauces and we were not asked what sauces we wanted. It arrived with 2 ranch, a beer cheese and a spicy creamy sauce. Also, we were not told they were out of jalapeno poppers (which is why I wanted the platter) and the substituted waffle fries. That was a bummer because we already had waffle fries for the nachos. Also...no pickles, no marinara for the pretzel. The pretzel was a little dry for us. We chose BBQ wings and they were pretty good. We tried to order their pickle dip, but they were also out of that. First time visiting The Ripon Tap House. First impression...the place is decorated nicely and the staff were friendly when we arrived. We were sat at a large "community" type table but had most of it to ourselves. Our server came by fairly quick and took our drink orders. When she returned we were ready to order. She did let us know it was very busy and almost everyone had arrived about the same time. We place our order and it did take a considerable amount of time to get our food..but she at least has warned us. Our server was very attentive (plus she had a cool New Zealand accent!). For food I got the Fish & Chips and upgraded to garlic fries. The fries are a waffle cut and were loaded with garlic. Very good flavor, a little greasy. The cod fish had a nice light batter and was cooked perfectly. My big issue was that between the greasy fries and oil from the fish the plate was kinda swimming in oil. The fish was also under seasoned. It needed salt and pepper (neither of which were on the table). It did come with a great tartar sauce for the fish and ranch for the chips. My wife got the Cubano sandwich with salad. She really liked the sandwich. The salad was ok but the mixed greens were cut very large and no knife was offered. Overall it was a good meal and thanks to the great service I am sure we will be back...hopefully when they are not slammed like they were the food/table setup may be a bit better, Still recommend you give it a try... read more

I will start this review by saying I'm writing it at Roadhouse when we were supposed to be at Taphouse... so there's that. This review is based on recent beer selection and our experiences on Tuesday night during their BBQ night. In fairness, they host a BBQ guy to do their food, but they should be on the same page. We arrived just before 4 PM, when they are supposed to open, and the doors were locked and it was dark. When they were supposed to open at 4, a guy was frantically setting up stuff. Now, I totally get being late, but own it. Around 4:05 I knock on the door and dude initially tries to not make eye contact. When I keep staring, he looks bothered and comes to the door. He opens it and says theyre not ready. I ask if they are supposed to open at 4 and he says they are then offers the type of insincere apology my toddler does. Top that off with the fact that a few times ago when we came they ran out of everything but pulled pork... I'm good. We will be taking a break. On the beer front, I have been underwhelmed by the recent selection. And a good number of the beers have been flat. It is a total shame because we like the place. Ripon Tap House has quickly become one of our favorite spots. We first tried it because of Sweet Deals, and we've been back several times since because we absolutely love the food, beer, and overall vibe. Since we spend a lot of time at Mistlin for sports, it's the perfect place to relax and grab a great meal afterward. The burgers are awesome, the fish and chips are epic, and the homemade pretzels are the real deal. The fries are delicious too. The Ripon Tap House is such an amazing addition to Ripon! From the moment you walk in, you can see just how much work and devotion they put into their establishment. As soon as you walk in, you feel how fun and welcoming it feels. The decor is very inviting and also honors Ripon at the same time. My wife and I frequent the Tap House at least once or twice a month. They have an awesome rotating tap selection and you can tell they go out of their way to make sure the beer and drink selections are unique and something the customers will enjoy. Whether you're looking for beer, cider, wine, cocktails, or great food, they have something for everyone. The staff is always friendly and I cannot express how welcome you feel as soon as you walk in the door. They also have trivia, bingo, happy hours and other events several times a month! Ripon Tap House has been on my radar for a while and I finally got to try it out and I was very impressed! It's a great place to hang out and get drinks, but the food is also really impressive. I will say that this is a type of place you would go to if you have time because the food doesn't come out super quick, but that's the only con I have. The service here is top tier and the ambiance is comfortable. The food isn't outrageously priced either. You can look at their menu through scanning a QR code and they certainly have a lot of options. From salads, to burgers and sandwiches, to pastas, and much more. My family and I came on a Sunday afternoon so they had their brunch menu available with items such as avocado toast and steak and eggs. I personally got the Pesto Chicken Sandwich ($17) with a side of waffle fries. I really enjoyed this fried chicken sandwich. It wasn't overly oily, but it was really crispy. The chicken inside was moist and the pesto complimented the sandwich well. The buns and bread they use is also really good quality. Also those waffle fries are amazing. Very crispy and well seasoned. Their steak and eggs that I stole off a family member's plate was also really good. Cooked perfectly medium rare and juicy while being very tender. I also heard the Caesar salad was amazing too. Especially the bread they use to make the croutons. My experience at Ripon Tap House was great and I highly recommend coming here. The restaurants in this particular area in Ripon really has some of the best food you can get in Ripon and really the central valley in general. Ripon Tap House is one of those standouts. read more

We were looking for a more laid-back spot for our rehearsal dinner--something that could accommodate about 80 guests and still feel relaxed and celebratory. Ripon Taphouse ended up being the perfect choice. It all started spontaneously: we were near the venue, popped in to try a few beers, and instantly got the idea to ask if they could host our event. From that moment on, Chris (the owner) and Chef Mo were all in. Although they hadn't hosted many large events before, they embraced the challenge with so much heart and enthusiasm--we were their "guinea pig" event, and they absolutely crushed it. Everyone had a blast. The vibe was exactly what we were hoping for: fun, casual, and full of good energy. The food? Incredible. They adapted their regular menu to fit our vision perfectly--serving sliders instead of full burgers, crafting an allergy-friendly table (a huge hit with the many guests who had dietary restrictions), and putting out total crowd-pleasers like the poke tower and the poutine. Our guests raved about it all night. The beer selection is next-level. They rotate their taps regularly, and every pour is clearly curated with care. One green sour beer in particular was unforgettable--so unique and delicious. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had the pretzel beer cheese appetizer and it was AMAZING! We had the fish and chips and it was FANTASTIC! All the food is made in house and they don't lightly batter the fish until you order it so everything is fresh. So we've been here three times total - once as a family and once on a date. This third time they have implemented a digital ordering system (scan and order from table). We waited over an hour for our food. I'm so disappointed. The people seem really nice and our "server" was awesome (bc his job was basically apologizing for the digital ordering). I'm sure the kitchen was swamped with people doing staggered orders. Please do not wait to "work out the kinks" of this new ordering system. Ok so we were pretty excited to try this new place. The good: beer on tap was good and garlic fries are excellent. The bad: service was just ok. Waited a while to have them come back to table to take order. Only 1 waitress in place too many tables. Never got a water refill and finally asked if I wanted another beer but at that point was done with meal. Also we ordered two of the same sandwich. 1 was filled with meat the other was pretty bare, so that was disappointing. However the worst part was we went on a Sunday so many items(like at least half the menu!) was out of stock. They told me the baseball families came and went through all their inventory. Love the beers on tap and they're always rotating. They have a good variety of ciders, wine, lagers, IPAs, and usually one stout on tap. The food is delicious, definitely get the fried pickles with the adobo chipotle sauce as well as the cheese curds. The food takes awhile to come out but that's ok if you're surrounded by good company and a good beer. The menu online does have a few more options but the servers are great at letting you know what you can customize with your burgers/sandwiches. You can tell that they put a lot of effort into their food and their service. The servers are all kind and will take care of you greatly. The taproom is very big and great for groups or small parties. It's a very pretty space and they have TVs and trivia night on certain days. read more
