Someone told me this place was good so I had to try it . The outside and inside is very nice and clean. Inside it's not your typical taqueria it has a full bar it's also very spacious. The inside is very classy chic with a Mexican twist . I went during the week so it was happy hour . Their happy hour is pretty sweet ! It's from Monday - Friday 4-6 pm, Dine-In Only . They offered $10 drinks and also $10 appetizers. I ended up getting their tacos de papa from their happy hour, which is two tacos, but they are very fulfilling. They're very delicious and I did not see them in the regular menu so if you go during happy hour, it's definitely a must try. I also ordered Jesse's favorite, which is a Chile that looks like a chille relleno, but it's not instead of the egg it has a cream sauce on top and inside it has ground beef . My dad ordered the fajitas which they came with a side of cilantro rice and beans and also all the fixings like guacamole and stuff. Let me tell you the fajitas meal was huge. You could definitely share it with somebody else. I have to say their portions are very generous. For drinks they have beers margaritas my mother had a Chavela, which is beer with lime. I'm not a big tequila fan, but they do have a full bar so I just changed the dirty linen drink for Gin instead of tequila and it was very delicious . The service everyone was really nice and attentive. Overall, we had a great dinner my family and I we had a lot of food and a lot of good laughs. I would definitely come back. We had a really nice dinner experience at Primo's. Love the space and the sports bar feel. Casual enough but upscale at the same time. Our server was amazing, took great care of us. Now on to the food- starting with the tortilla chips and the salsas, we were impressed at how fresh and warm they were. The elote had sriracha in it and I wasn't a great fan. The fried vegetarian burrito was amazing and the veggie tacos were good as well but could use a bit more flavor. The meat tacos were well-made. The Valencia old-fashioned was excellent. The horchata was good, a bit too sweet for my taste though. Overall, great place to have a nice meal. I'll surely stop by the next time we drive by Ripon. read more

Last night we had a slightly last-minute Boxing Day dinner at Primos. I called on December 23 and explained the desire for a December 26 reservation for a party of eight, did I mention that I called at 10:30 at night. The person who answered the phone that late hour was friendly, helpful, and even a little bit funny. She set me up with the early dinner reservation. One other, probably not very important point, we don't live in Ripon and have never been there before. We picked Primos based on your previews and photos and the restaurant dinner menu. Our group consisted of for out-of-towners and for local Riponites. During the evening, the entire staff was friendly, and the service was excellent. The food was very good and the portions were large enough for the several large eaters in our group. For me, I ate half my dinner and took the other half home. During the dinner, we learned that the four from the area come here somewhat regularly. It seems to be a favorite of theirs, and I can see why. We will return. read more

Primos Restaurant & Tequila Bar - Great Food & Service! I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and my wife and I finally decided to go for dinner. When we arrived (around 5:30 pm), the parking lot was pretty full, but there weren't many people waiting. We were quoted a 30-minute wait, which was no problem, but we were pleasantly surprised to be seated in about 10 minutes. Right away, we were greeted with ice-cold water (without having to ask), along with chips, green salsa (not spicy but great flavor), and black refried beans. We ordered cocktails-- I had a Tequila Old Fashioned, and my wife had a Tequila Mule. Both were very tasty and well-made. For dinner, I ordered the Carnitas Dinner, which came with green rice, whole black beans served in a fried flour tortilla bowl, and a side of pico de gallo. The only thing missing was a side of guacamole, but it wasn't a deal breaker. The food arrived quickly, everything was hot, and the flavors were delicious. The flour tortillas seemed homemade--two large, soft tortillas that complemented the meal perfectly. My wife ordered three Pastor Tacos, which also came with the same rice and beans. She really enjoyed her meal as well. For dessert, we shared the churros, which came with caramel and chocolate dipping sauces. They were served hot and fresh--definitely a great way to end the meal! I have been here many times and love it. Popped in for an early lunch with a friend. The staff is always amazing! The ambience is modern and the place is always super clean. The cocktails are creative and super flavorful. The food is great, a modern twist on Mexican food. I try something different every time I go. Wow! Finally found a great date night spot! We came here on a whim because the other Mexican restaurant we wanted to dine at was super busy on a Friday night. There was no wait here but a good amount of people. Service was great. Upon being seated, you are served complimentary house made tortilla chips, salsa and bean dip. First time here, my sister always raves about this restaurant and I see why. The food and service were phenomenal with fair prices. First round of drinks we had were the Cadillac margaritas, made fresh and strong we also started with the queso fundido appetizer it was amazing. After asking a few questions, our server helped me decide on the Jessie's Favorite - it is now my favorite as well. My boyfriend had the fried burrito which was packed with flavor. The customer service is also top tier and I had a great experience because of how friendly the staff are. The ambiance is also comfortable and spacious. Plenty of parking outside as well. What my table ordered: - Quesadilla Sincronizadas w/ Chicken ($16) - Salmon Primos Specialty Plate ($24) You also get complimentary chips and salsa as well as a type of black bean dip. The chips were actually amazing and tasted very fresh. They were warm and crispy. The green salsa was delicious, but also not very spicy. The bean dip sprinkled with a little bit of cheese got cleaned out very quickly. It was a 10/10. The staff was also very attentive and would ask if my table needed refills for chips which was really nice. I personally got the quesadillas with chicken and boy I definitely cannot finish them in one sitting. The value for the amount of food you get is pretty good. The chicken is really tender and moist and the quesadilla was loaded with cheese. They use some really good tortillas. I was a fan. I tried a bite of the salmon and it was moist and flavorful. I was overall really pleased with my experience at Primos and I would be happy to come again. There's also a bar area and multiple tvs. They start you off with chips and salsa. They give you a bean too. The salsa was pretty good. It was a green salsa and wasn't spicy at all. It was three tacos with pastor, grilled pineapple and onions and cilantro. Came with rice and black beans. Very delicious. Pastor was nice and seasoned. We stopped in on a Monday night and it was half full. There aren't many nice restaurants open on a Monday, so this was a great option. This was my first time in and it was pretty spacious inside with a bar offering. I had a mixed cocktail, I don't recall the name... something laundry- and it was delicious. We then ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp, and it was so delicious as was everything else that followed. We ordered fish tacos and a wet burrito and everything hit the spot. I found the $14 margarita quite small and full of ice so very strong but more tequila flavor than blackberry. Perhaps the price was due to the tequila? I don't personally enjoy the flavor of straight liquor and am more inclined to order fruity drinks that only have a touch of alcohol flavor. Tonight we went to dinner and experienced sticker shock when we got our bill. We always order their pitcher of Cadillac margaritas for $64 which has always been excellent. Tonight we received our tab and the price of the same pitcher was $85.00. Our waitress explained that their prices have increased as of last week and even a single margarita in a small glass has went up from $14.00 to $17.00. It's unfortunate that they have chosen to increase their prices by 33% at the risk of losing customers. We will be choosing to frequent other Ripon restaurants in the future. read more

We stopped into Primo's for the first time, and were not disappointed. I ordered the El Señor burrito with shrimp, and my partner ordered the shrimp tacos. Generous portions! The burrito is easily enough food for two. The food is a cut above, with healthier ingredients, i.e. spinach tortilla instead of flour, black beans instead of pinto, etc. They have a nice tequila bar, and make a very good house margarita - tasty and well balanced, not too sweet. The staff was nice, and the bartender was on top of it! We're not usually in this area, but if we were, we would definitely stop in again. read more
