This is not my favorite spot for Mexican food in Manteca, but it's still a solid spot overall. Let's dive in... Ambiance - The interior is fairly good size with plenty of tables for groups big and small. There's a salsa bar so you can help yourself to the salsa they offer. Service - Service has always been solid when I've visited. Friendly staff, quick turnaround times usually. Food - The food is pretty good. It's not the best I've had in Manteca, but if I'm ever in a pinch this has been a solid backup option. I typically get their asada super burrito, or tacos with asada, chicken, or pastor. All options are good. Overall, the food won't drop your jaw or make you slap your mama, but it's a solid option here in Manteca. read more

Don't come here unless you want your burrito to be cold and fall apart. Couldn't even enjoy the food, tried our best to take a few bites but it was not good. We bring our food back with a few bites and ask for a refund, they refuse and only give us half. Burritos weren't even half way. Front employee is standing there arguing with me saying we ate more than half of the burrito, when clearly the burrito is still covering the entire container. Wow..can I just say, wow? WOW! First time here and got a surf and turf burrito. Not on the menu but requested to add shrimp, which they gladly did! After finally having to accept that the taco truck in the new Construction area was all we had for decent Mex food, I am sooooo glad we found our spot! What a great find in the Manteca area! The restaurant is clean, the staff is knowledgeable and kind. I have a gluten allergy and they went above and beyond to accommodate me. They offered to wipe down the grill prior to toasting my corn tortilla to help avoid cross contamination. The salsa bar is very clean, and the restaurant is spacious. I was tempted to try one of their refreshing agua frescas, but I had reached my sugar quota for the day. I think I've found my go to spot when I'm visiting Manteca. read more

I'm a big fan of this restaurant/taqueria. It's clean, huge space for seating, a nice open kitchen with friendly employees, etc. they also have a salsa bar with different types of salsas and toppings. I came with my family today and we had a great time. I enjoyed their Birria ramen which had loads of meat and consume. The flavors are incredible with the broth mixed with the consume. The shredded beef is tender but I will say, I thought they added way too much birria meat and it overshadowed the ramen noodles. They might need to lessen the meat. The burrito is huge and will definitely stuff you up. I thought the rice and beans needed more salt because one side of the burrito was bland. I ordered four tacos: 2 tripas (extra crispy) and Al Pastor. The tacos are delicious and full of meat and seasoning. I love that they add a small slice of sweet pineapple on top of the al pastor. I thought their carne asada is a bit too saucy for my liking. Usually, I love carne asada when it's more on the steak-type texture rather than being soaked in sauce and wet. Either way, their tacos are fire. I thoroughly enjoyed their Tortas too! I had a carne asada torta and it tasted phenomenal; I can stand the carne asada in this sandwich rather than a taco or burrito. The bread is fresh and crisp with melted white cheese. Tacos are really good! Tried an assortment of tacos ranging from carne asada, al pastor, cabesa and tripas and they were all seasoned well. They have a salsa bar that you can pile on to your plate. I barely finished my food and I'm still sitting in the restaurant writing this review. We ordered a burrito bowl, quesadilla, and supreme burrito. They all were very good but the quesadilla was my favorite!!!! I haven't had a quesadilla with so much flavor before. I did have to say no salsa and pico on it because I don't really like spicy food but it was still super flavorful. My burrito had salsa and pico in it so it was too spicy for me but my husband loved it. I would definitely come here again!! The place is clean with a really nice vibe also. My family lives near this taco spot and they recommended it to me. The way it works you order at the counter they give you a number. They call your number when your food is ready. In the meantime, you could go to the salsa bar and grab their delicious salsas . The hot sauces are definitely really good. The orange one is my favorite. I was looking for the little plastic containers to put your salsa in to my surprise, you have to ask for them in the front. Maybe it's a way to control people from getting more not sure.? Also it would be great to have napkins on the table since the tacos get pretty messy . The inside was clean and organized. The food was very delicious. This is by far the best Mexican food I've had in Manteca. I ordered two enchilada one chicken and one asada the green sauce recommended by the gentleman helping me, and it did not disappoint. I also ordered a birria taco, which was a solid 10/10. All of the salsas had excellent flavor as well. Although I don't live in the area, I would definitely make the drive back just to eat here again. The restaurant itself is charming, with thoughtful décor and a well-put-together atmosphere. Nice little spot in Manteca, with modern decor, and friendly staff working there. The one thing I can say. The grilled shrimp tacos were probably some of the best I've had in a while. I also ordered a plate of their asada fries. I normally dont eat a lot of fries and I probably won't again. And its not because I didn't like the asada fries,they were absolutely delicious. Because I slaughtered that plate, but my body just rejects it. But like I said earlier, I really loved the tacos and would definitely ordered them again and probably more than just two of them. Everything we've had is absolutely amazing and full of flavor! We've brought family who are visiting here and they've always loved it! Food is served hot and fast! Tried them out today and overall the food was great. I ordered 3 tacos--2 tripa and 1 al pastor. The tripa was excellent, super flavorful and cooked just right. The al pastor was okay, nothing too special. My son got 2 tacos (asada and chicken) and both were fire! We also tried the birria ramen, and that was extraordinary--definitely a highlight. On the flip side, the chorizo taco wasn't great, kind of a miss. The flauta order was tasty though, no complaints there. I also really liked that they have a salsa bar with a nice variety. The guacamole salsa tasted like it was close to expiring, but all the other salsas were really good. read more

I've been to the Chapala in Stockton before, but honestly this Manteca location is a lot better plus way cleaner. They also have an open kitchen so you can see your food being made. It's the usual ordering process where you order then sit down and wait for your food to be given to you. Only downside is you have to pay for chips, but not a huge deal. I personally ordered the Carne Asada Taco & Al Pastor Taco. Each taco is $2.75 which is a solid price. The Al Pastor and Carne Asada were pretty standard. I definitely prefer the Asada more. The meat to tortilla and salsa ratio is perfect too. The tortilla was really soft and doesn't fall apart while eating it. The Carne Asada Quesadilla ($11) blew my mind. That thing is MASSIVE. For $11 too it is a great deal. It was absolutely loaded with Asada and guacamole. It is definitely a sharable item and I couldn't even finish it despite being a total glutton myself. It is great value and I'd recommend it. Once you finish the staff cleans the table and dishes for you. Customer service is pretty friendly overall and the store is basically spotless. This is certainly a great spot for authentic Mexican food. read more

It's a small place and upon walking up it was packed. Meaning it would absolutely be good. I got a hot Cheeto burrito and it was ready within 5 minutes even with all the people there. I'd ordered the burrito bowl at the truck when it was in town. Having a dry space when it's raining seems a good idea right now. I ordered the Burrito Bowl and a Small Jamaica. She didn't ask me what I wanted on the burrito bowl, unlike when I ordered at the truck. I was a bit surprised at the price of the Small Jamaica--$4.75 seems a lot. It wasn't a long time and one of the people preparing food brought it to me at the counter near the doors. It was served in those same aluminum baking trays that they used for the truck. There was a surprise--guacamole. I don't like guacamole. I didn't complain, but I scooped out most of it and mixed everything. They didn't say anything from that point. Food was good, although it wasn't as hot as expected. I suppose that they have to make loads and just combine it. At $15.97 + $5.00 tip at the end, it's a once a month kind of meal for me.
