My FAVVVVVVVVORITE place in TRACY to get Tacos!! The shrimp tacos are to die for. But literally you can't go wrong with anything you order. I do have to add extra meat when I get the burritos since Covid but other than that they have big helpings. And if you like it really spicy just ask for extra jalapeño's on the side. They also have red and green habanero sauce they will give you IF you ask. read more

If you're looking for another place that isn't Potranca or Mexicana, let me put you onto another Mexican classic that will BLOW your mind away. Look no further than La Costa!! I especially like their location on 11th Street, just right across from the Tracy City Hall. I've passed through La Costa multiple times, but have never had the opportunity to try this place until now. They have a dine-in and take-out option -- both ideal for the occasions at hand. They are quick, efficient, and will modify your order based on your needs. The ambiance of the restaurant is also very spacious -- lots of tables and fresh air, since they're pretty much outdoors. It depends on what protein you are trying, but I really like their shrimp tacos. They're one of the best tacos I've tried at any taqueria thus far. The horchata and jamaica were also really good as well. Overall, I'd recommend this place to anybody who visits the city or wants another option. read more

I dream about their shrimp tacos. The el pastor ones, too. The shrimp has just the right level of spice and the pastor has just the right hint of char and pineapply goodness. With a slice of avocado, they are taco perfection. I typically get three tacos for me, two carne asada for my sister, and a burrito for my brother-in-law and we to all end things satisfied. I've never had a dish there I didn't like Sometimes I wish they had more indoor seating. I don't have to wish they accepted credit and debit cards anymore, because they recently started accepting both. Definitely recommended. read more

OK, first of all let me say I've been eating off and on at this original spot for years and have to say honestly they have one of the best tacos, ceviche, tostadas, and burritos and the whole valley. The only issue that we've ever had here was it was cash only in the past But now being I was just there today that has changed now they take credit card much better ambience is just a nice little taco shop. They have a few that I know of and Tracy Manteca and Brentwood. I'm sure there might be others but these are the ones I've been to The family that owns. This is from Jalisco Mexico very good family so they make sure the service is great at all the locations so come check it out. You won't be disappointed. Years ago we used to go to the Manteca location but wife works near here and decided to give it a try. It was crowded but we the service was good and we got our food extremely fast. They have mostly outside sitting and it was a bit hot but they have plenty of shaded sitting area. I had the orchard and tacos of different types. Lengua tacos were pretty good but I have had better Al pastor. Carne asada was good and wife's asada burrito was also good with nice flavor of beans and rice and loaded with beef. Solid 3.75 for food and service. read more

What can I say about this establishment that already hasn't been said ?! You know when I give good reviews, it's because I felt the food talking for me. Let's start at the amazing service and welcoming atmosphere. We sat out on the patio with my dog and were just perfect. No bugs pestering us at all. Make sure you go to the 11th st La Costa because there's two, I'll review the other one tonight and see if it holds uo! I went back today and got 5 tacos and 2 horchatas, they remembered me and gave me a very good price! They also remembered I loved Chiles toreados ! I'm literally getting dressed to head over again. One of my favorite places in Tracy! Every time I'm in town I try to stop by! This place is so consistent with their flavor everything tastes so good. I have never been disappointed! They are super friendly will answer all your questions and they get your food to you quick. If you like soda their Pepsi is very good. They have a small indoor dining area but most of the seating is outdoors covered the order and pickup is also in the same place at a window. They are cash only so keep that in mind but if you haven't been YOU MUST GIVE THEM A TRY. read more

This place was ok even 6 months ago but now No. greasy carnitas. Three tacos stuffed into a lil box. Filled with grease. They charged me $30 for 5 tacos plain with sour cream and cheese only. This same meal used to only cost 18. Nvr will I pay 30 for small tacos that's insane read more

Once upon a time in a galaxy very close to Tracy........... La Costa was a great place to buy food and eat! I have gone here for 25 years and feel they have been decaying, declining, whatever you want to say! A month ago I bought a tostada de civeche de cameron for 7 dollars a tostada!!! LOL. The shrimp was not very well cleaned, it still had some yellow to it and if you know how to clean shrimp, you know what I'm talking about. The to go cup looks smaller! Yet when I go to La Mexicana and buy a tostada de cameron... it is significanlty more fulfilling and cheaper now! When I go to Modesto and buy ceviche the price has not changed as dramatic as La Costa and get more from them! In addition, I don't buy burritos from them anymore which was a staple for them back in the late 1990's and early 2000's! It seems like Los Potros and La Mexicana have been providing burritos which are more fulfilling and yet more consitent in price and I ask you why do La Costa's burritos look significantly smaller than these other places who are providing food around the same price!!! La Mexicana just recently expanded in Mountain House and I have been using them for catering on a consistent basis! La Costa, good luck making it in Tracy. I know popeyes opened up another franchise around you! Your prices for what you get are out of this world, a joke, don't get happy and high! In addition, why does the taco stand over the bridge from you provide tacos for the same price, 3 dollars, and they provide double the amount of meat!!!!!! I asked my daughter to get me an Al pastor burrito, she and my grandson had an asada Burrito. It wasn't great at all, First off unlike other places, they wrapped it neatly. My Al pastor burrito didn't have taste at all. Thirdly, there's not much meat in there. There's more rice, onion, no cilantro, sour cream. There's a tiny piece of pineapple. I had wanted the sour crème on the side. The salsa wasn't that great either. Not a kick of spice at all. I've had this before and was better. read more

A cash-only establishment! The last time I visited was a few years back, and it seems since then their indoor dining area has been (and is still) closed likely due to the impacts of COVID-19. They're located at a corner on 11th Street right by Tracy High and have pretty decent outdoor dining areas, although it seems these don't get cleaned very well or often. I was able to try their al pastor quesadilla and tacos, both of which tasted pretty flavorful and were mixed in with pineapples which I enjoyed! + Quesadilla Al Pastor (3/5): It was super soggy and was shaped essentially as an open burrito, so it was pretty difficult to eat. There wasn't much cheese as I would've expected, as the cheese was basically made into a crust onto the tortilla. + Tacos Al Pastor (3.5/5): Also very soggy, but the marinade was still pretty flavorful. Overall, a decent place to have tacos in the area since it's pretty inexpensive here! read more

Food is okay, although they're the first Mexican place I've been to that does not have chips, like at all. Not even for purchase. They have plenty of outdoor seating. Their burritos are pretty big but sloppy and don't hold their shape. Service is meh. When I ordered, I asked the guy for jalapeños on the side. Checked the bag, no jalapeños. When I asked the gal at the pick-up window for jalapeños and salsa, she seemed annoyed and was quick to close the little screen on me. 2 al pastor burritos, $16, it is cheap. I've had better al pastor though- Theirs is ok-ish. Maybe next time I'll try carnitas. Cash only! read more

If you're looking for quality burritos and tacos, this is a great location. Their prices are hard to beat for the quality of food you receive. Keep in mind this location is located next to Tracy High. It can be very busy during the school year during lunch time, so plan accordingly. Make sure you bring cash, because they do not accept credit cards/Venmo, etc. If you're looking to dine in, they have a fair amount of outdoor seating. The parking lot is small and can get full which can make parking more difficult. During my visits, I generally order their asada burrito. They are decent sized and taste good. This is a great option if you're on the go without overpaying for food. read more

The food here wasn't bad. I ordered 3 tacos - pastor, asada, and lengua. My main gripe was that it was doused in so much salsa that you'd think they'd be hiding something and it's all you tasted. The asada taco is what you'd expect - chopped up meat, salsa roja, corn tortilla. It was good, but just ordinary. The lengua was also standard as well. However, I was glad that it wasn't overstewed. The lengua still had some bite to it but definitely lacked seasoning. All I tasted was the salsa verde. The al pastor was the most unique of the 3. The marinade had a different flare than the pastor at other shops. The flavor of the chiles stood out more than your typical shop. Overall, La Costa isn't bad, but isn't wow either. I could just be spoiled by the tacos I had down in LA and SD, but there are also places in the Bay I prefer as well. read more

Love the quick service here! We've only been here once but the time we ordered to the time we received our food was really quick even on a weekday evening during dinner time. I ordered some chicken tacos and my husband had a chicken burrito. The chicken was flavored and seasoned really nicely. I feel like it was priced fairly as well. Food is delicious. Owner is a bit rude but everybody else is extremely kind and helpful. I ordered a beef taco and got it 2 minutes later, and this isn't the first time I got my food within the same 10 minutes of me ordered. Service is always fast and food is always fresh. I wanted to use the ketchup on the table but it was 100°+ on the day I went & it was left out in the heat & bottle was really hot to touch & it says refrigerate after opening. CASH ONLY! Cool little spot, can eat outside or to go. Since we moved to the area the indoor dining part hasnt seemed to open yet, not sure if it will. The food isnt to rave about, just filling if you are in the mood for some mexican food. We have gotten some pretty okay options a few times but again not my first choice to go to. I asked for no sauce in the burrito last time and it was still very soggy, possibly from however they cook the chicken it must be in a stew form or something. Food was definitely worth the wait though. The tacos I ordered were amazing , it hit the right spot every bite. My husband ordered combo bowl , it was great as well. Will be returning to this place soon to try more of their amazing food. This place has a lot of place to sit inside and few outside tables if you feel hot inside.

It was just water, so there was no tang to this. There was no salt or pepper seasoning, soooo plain. There was no jalapeño or hot chili type of essence in the "lime" juice. It tasted like somebody just put regular water, shrimp, avocado, cucumber, and onion in a bowl so plainly. Only positive was the fish was good quality.

The 50% I had to remove with no meat, and the pile of gristle.

The sampler was all yummy with the ranch dipping sauce that has imitation bacon I was told ( because I dont eat pork). I loved the fish and chips. They provided amply amount of tarter sauce. I was using as much as I could on each dip and was still left with tarter sauce at the end. The fries are unique and extremely crispy and different. I loved them. Never had fries like that before, truly unique. Can't wait to try more stuff on tje menu. Pro tip: they close earlier than usual on Sunday so come early on that day. We arrived at closing time but they was nice enough to let is sit down and order.
