This is one of my regular spots when I'm in town visiting family. Employees are nice and they prepare the food pretty quick. The place has a good number of tables if you want to dine in. The section where they have the salsa's, chips, and other toppings is always kept clean and full. I've gone to taquerias where the section isn't kept up and it's not appetizing. So it's great to have it look inviting. We got the food to go and everything was packaged up nicely. I had the Pollo Asado (Grilled Chicken) Super Burrito and it was good. I actually split it with my mom and it was still a lot, especially with chips and salsa. My sister and nieces had Carne Asada Nachos and Quesaberria's. Everyone liked what they ordered. Carolina has underrated meats, tacos, flautas, beans, & rice. They have a super friendly & hardworking staff. They've got all the fixins at their chip bar where you can pack your own salsas, hot sauces, jals, etc to go. If you haven't been to Carolina lately, you haven't been to Carolina. Excellent improvements have been made! Prices are very good, $13 for a super burrito is almost unheard of nowadays, a breakfast menu. You still get chips and salsa and condiments included. I enjoyed about 1/4 of my burrito as dinner, plenty left over to enjoy. They have friendly service, and have done some remodeling to improve the look of the place. Place wasn't too busy. Ensure to go around the counter to the back to order bc it's not at the front. Menu board is pretty dulled out and perhaps could use some updating. But just goes to show you they're established. Super nachos w.al pastor were yummy. Husband liked his burrito. We got 2 tacos, 1 al pastor, 1 asada. They were filled pretty generously with meat. I'm picky about my al pastor and this one is good. We were given 2 small chip bags for free. The salsa bar was good. My favorite was the green creamy one. Just ordered a breakfast burrito this morning. I wasn't sure what to expect since the menu is very simplified. Choices are chorizo, bacon or ham. The menu doesn't tell you what else is in the breakfast burrito. It comes with rice refried beans eggs cheese pico and choice of meat. I asked for no rice, whole beans instead of refried and ham. I thought the burrito was going to be skimpy due to no rice. Well I was very wrong about that. This burrito was so big and delicious!!! We ordered the food on the phone to go. I can't really find the proper menu online but we know what we want enough to order. Our first time ordering here since it's very close to our house. Restaurant was fairly busy since it was Sunday. Their menu inside the restaurant was extensive and good selection to choose from. We ordered 3 tacos ( chorizo, carnitas and shrimps), lengua torta, and cheese quesadilla with rice and beans. The tacos were flavorful and delicious. Torta was ok. Feel like it was missing something. My kids love their rice and beans and quesadilla. I like that they have salsa bar and you get a free bag of chips. I got myself the al pastor super burrito. It tastes great and the size of the burrito was huge. I tried putting the burrito next to a tortilla chip to compare the size. The service was fast, and accurate, and kind. The ambiance has decorations and style of vintage central/South American. I highly recommend going here. read more

Food was good. I ordered a Super Burrito De Pastor, it came out on a plate, which was nice. (Side note it was hailing outside). The presentation when I cut it open could have been less drenchy as when you take a bite in you get a chunk of sour cream mixed with tomato . Looks can be appealing, in this case I tasted quite a few things all at once, rather it seemed a bit over salty for me. The owner remembered me!!! I used to come here at least once a week. I must have gone there over 10 years . I love their tacos and the nigra modelo beers. Of course if you eat there the chips and the salsa bars all you want. The owner loved to have me back. I was so happy to stop by in the morning before I was heading back to Texas. This time I had siete de mares 7 seafood soups, beer and one Asada taco. It was ONLY $22 for all these. The 7 seafood soup had king crab,shrimp, a huge shrimp, octopus, mussels, fish and squid. Soup was served with avocado and cilantros and onions. It was so delicious and hot. It was made fresh right there. I was in Texas time zone so the restaurant served me this soup before 9 am!! As far as I remember they are always open. The owner is hard worker. He must be working day and nights. I love the restaurant. It's very clean inside and friendly settings for salsa bars. Taqueria Carolina, I have gone here and ordered to go like maybe more than five times in a year. I have never complained about anything they make. The service is always fast and efficient. And the ambience of the restaurant makes me feel at home away from home. Very friendly staff. I always jeep forgetting to take a picture of my burrito but I would always get their California Burrito with Carne Asada and no pico. I am not s fan of pico. My fiancé ordered a container of rice for our dinner and they were first going to charge him $10 dollars for a large container. He ended up getting a small and they charged him $5. A couple days later he got a notice from his credit card that they updated the charge back to $10!! This is the second time that I've gone in here feeling like they charge us more because we don't speak Spanish. Not to mention the rice tasted like fish so I didn't even end up eating it. We used to frequent this establishment a lot. The last two times I've been here I haven't been impressed. One time I asked for grilled chicken and got the other shredded chicken in red sauce and drove all the way home, called back and they argued with me as if I ordered it wrong. Didn't want to do anything for me. After months I decided to give them another chance today and the inside of our burritos are cold! We've always gotten them to go and have never had them cold by the time we got home. Rice inside is hard. It's not good. From a scale 1-10.... 10 the food was amazing... I will have to say a 6. Will I be coming back here? Yes... will it be my first option? No. My husband and I bought the food to go because the garbage/dishes near the door was piled up! Not a great first impression. It was our first time here so we're willing to come back and try something else on the menu. I got the green enchiladas... it was pretty good. The rice, I've had better. For the most part, buche can either be the pig's esophagus or stomach. Taqueria Carolina's version is the latter and it is worth all the four stars I am giving this place. There are two other locations in town that have buche in their menu but they are so far behind in terms of taste and quality. Señor Jesus has mastered the craft of preparing the pig's stomach, which takes some tender loving care and patience to make. This is part of the digestive track and if it's not properly cleaned, you would be able to recognize it from the smell and, of course, from the taste. Of all the times I've eaten their buche, it has been spot on. It is actually more enjoyable than a pig's ear because you won't have to deal with the cartilage. Although buche is griddled before serving, it never loses that somewhat sticky texture which, for me, makes the meal even better. My penchant for offal dishes is huge and I know not everyone has the same inclination. For the benefit of Carlitos and Catalina, they also serve al pastor, carnitas, carne asada, pollo asado, chile verde, chile colorado, pescado, and camaron. Cabeza, lengua, and tripas are available for those who want something other than the ordinary. Although there are several options, it is the buche that leads me here. Their tripas is a little bit on the saltier side but I still get it every now and then. Al pastor, lengua, and cabeza are pretty solid. But if you want to yelp about something different and delicious, you know which one to choose... =) read more

My husband brought me here to try the second location as they have/had one in Stockton.. Let's just say that these two locations taste like a nasty break up and the Tracy location is just moving on and making delicious food! I ordered the Super Nachos just to try a bit of the meat, beans and fixings. I was NOT disappointed. Their beans tasted bomb, meat was cooked crispy on the outside and juicy in the middle. The salsas both red and green tasted.. better than the Stockton location. I keep calling it the Stockton location because they recently changed the name from Taqueria Carolina to Carolina's Grill or something. I'll be making the drive out here any time I want this place. I ordered 3 chicken burritos, to go, yesterday afternoon for myself and my family. I've been a customer for many years too. I've seen changes over those years some good, some not so good, but the food has always been consistently good. Yesterday was horrible. I sat down to enjoy my burrito and it tasted off. I opened it up and could see right away the inside of the tortilla was almost burnt black. I understand tortillas burn sometimes but you don't serve it to a customer and try and HIDE it. You knew it was burnt and had no problem serving it up. Shame on you. I will never go there again. You may have saved a few pennies but you lost more. read more

I ordered the chicken enchiladas from here and I was pretty disappointed in the flavor. It didn't really taste all that great or unique. Honestly it tasted like the canned enchilada sauce you can buy in the grocery store. The rice and beans were okay though. I just personally don't think I'll come to this spot again. It was really pricey for what you get out of it. Some yelpers like the food though, so give it a try, maybe it was just an off day or maybe it'll be up your alley on the flavor side. read more
