The cheese and sour cream was from shredded cheddar and Monterey cheese. It's a lazy kind of what they prep things. Only thing that was good was the michelada shrimps. Definitely not coming back. I've been having molcajete on my mind. I first tried the restaurant next to Rosita's grocery store but they were closed. I wanted a place near by and tried Fello's. There was one group of customers. I was greeted with a wonderful smile and sat near the window. Their mocajete had a choice of steak, chicken and/or shrimp. I chose steak and shrimp. I've never had mocajete before and I was amazed how large the bowl that it came in. It was hot and steaming. It came and the flavors had a nice stewed tomato broth. Steak was seared, shrimp cooked nicely, and the green onions had a good seared from the fajita hot big bowl. I don't know how to compare this since this was my first tome to try this. I was there on a Sunday morning with my family! We love Mexican food so I thought I would give them a try again. I ordered caldo de pollo and received what looked like tortilla soup. Upon arriving saw new staff and most likely new cooks since our burrito meat was cooked completely different, found grissle, AND this sharp ass object what is this a bone??How does this happen!l? I was recommended this restaurant by my CMT. We came early, but it was surprisingly empty. I enjoyed that they have a salsa bar (and quite honestly, this is the second taqueria I've been to with such a variety). Not only were their salsas, but two types of pico de gallo, but there was pickled jalapeños with carrots, veggies, and salad. There was also CUCUMBER! I got the two sopes plate and they were good! My only complaint would be the beans are rice were not hot, but warm. My husband enjoyed the posole. It's a little different than those he's used to from the Bay Area; however, he really enjoyed it. Met some friends here for a Mexican lunch. I ordered a chimichanga with carnitas and excluded onions. The size was large and it was hot and tasty and full of flavor. I brought home about a 1/3 of it for later. It is a lot of food. The salsa was also good the tortilla chips were a bit dry but otherwise tasted fine. My wife ordered a chil Colorado plate and another got a torta. The booth we sat in was a bit cramped. Next time I would opt for a table. Simple interior, clean and sort of cafeteria like. My wife wanted to try some new food in town and hadn't tried Fello's yet. I knew that it would be a hit because you're not just going through motions here. You actually get good food with amazing flavor from the rice and beans to the main course. I like the fact that the place is smaller and comforting inside. Nice pictures on the wall with a good amount of booths and tables. I was I could remember the name of the young man who was our server but it is escaping me at this moment. He was incredibly respectful and attentive to me and my wife and really made the whole experience what it was. Having good food is great, pairing it with great service is excellent. The shrimp tacos were perfection. Each and every shrimp was fried just as well as the other. Tons of fresh flavor from all the dishes. Second - I'm not Hispanic so I can't really vouch for what is truly 'authentic' (neither can anyone else who isn't Hispanic or been raised in a Hispanic household - this means you too 'Karen'...smh) However, I am a California native and I've enjoyed flavorful Cali~Mexican food my whole life. We had a great Sunday lunch here. I had Huevos Rancheros - my usual go to. Hubs had chorizo and eggs. Flavor? Off the charts. Perfect rice & beans. A primer for Huevos Rancheros including a rich sauce flavored with what tastes like a slow roasted, shredded beef, traditional spices, cilantro and a sturdy tomato base. Tortillas - perfect crunch on arrival, and over time yielded nicely to the eggs. Perfectly fried eggs; not quite jammy & just enough yolk to slowly work into the tortillas. Hubs chorizo/eggs, no grease, excellent portion control and ratio (eggs to meat); well done scramble and spot on beans and rice. Bonus points for attentive service and great music selection! The new restaurant is still using Fellos menu, I ordered my favorite Fellos dish "Camarones al La Cucaracha", I should've went with my gut feeling when waitress told me the new chef makes it different but she assured me the new chef was a very good cook, which was not true! The dish and the sauce nothing close to the original the sauces and salsas had no heat everything was very salty beans were dried out. I will not be going back. Mexican food spots have come and gone in this location. We had Casa Flores for quite some time, then it was vacant for a while, then Papa Juan's came and went faster than I run to the bathroom after eating Taco Bell. When we saw Fello's with their "coming soon" sign, we viewed it with cautious optimism. The one thing we knew it had going for it was that it used to be a food truck located around Louise and Airport and it seemed to have a decent crowd whenever we drove by. After seeing them open and reading some of the reviews, we decided to make the trek for ourselves. I can only view 17 shots of the quesabirria taco before wanting to see what it's all about for myself... Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly lady who told us to sit anywhere. We decided to sit in a hybrid booth (half booth, half chairs) with a great shot of the kitchen so we could watch all of the food coming out. There weren't a lot of photos of different foods on Yelp, so I wanted to see the diversity for myself. Teresa came and greeted us and brought some chips and salsa while taking our drink orders. Teresa was fantastic the entire night. Very friendly and helpful and very attentive. The whole staff seemed to be this way from my observation. If our water got low, either Teresa or another team member were quick to action to ask if we were doing okay. 5-star service if I ever saw it. How about the food? Teresa recommended the pozole and I took her recommendation. It was friggin' legit! It was probably the best tasting soup I've ever had in my life. I also ordered a quesabirria because I saw 149 photos of it online and wanted to see what it was all about. Since I ate that first, I basically had no room left for the soup and took most of it home, but the flavors were incredible between the quesabirria and the pozole. The quesabirria isn't on the menu, but if you order it you'll get it and you will love it. It's a filling son of a gun though! My other half got an al pastor burrito bowl and it was packed with goodies. She absolutely loved her entree as well. Oh, and I almost forgot they have HOMEMADE corn tortillas! The food is 5 stars. How about price? The price is pretty reasonable when you factor in the portion sizes. The pozole came in a bowl big enough to bathe a newborn and I've already had 2 servings of it with another serving left for later. It's A LOT. You definitely get your money's worth when you dine here. Between the two of us, our tab ran somewhere near $34 and that's me ordering a quesabirria as well as our regular two entrees. Very reasonable. 5 stars for the portion size to price ratio. How's the ambience? It's a nice little restaurant. Nothing swanky, but not a dive either. It's well presented and there's a TV in the room which was showing Harry Potter while we dined. What can be better than stuffing your face with quesabirria while Voldemort is trying to take over the world? Nothing, that's what! All things considered, we have ourselves a new favorite sit-down Mexican restaurant and it's only a short drive from home. The staff were great, the food was great and the prices were very fair. We were intrigued with what Fello's would provide, since we live two minutes away. My mom made the order over the phone and they explained certain items that my mom didn't understand, such as, "gravy" is their red sauce. My parents ordered 6 dinners and it came to a fair amount. Prices are consistent with other Mexican Restaurants around town. They even read back the order and the requests/changes we asked for with our food. Food looked enticing, but I only took a photo of mine. A couple of bites in, I notice there is no flavor. Tasted pretty bland. Took a couple of more bites, now into the middle of the burrito. Same lack of taste. Not only did I think there was a lack of flavor but so did my son (who will eat anything), and he got a bean and cheese burrito. He didn't finish his, nor did the rest of my family and myself. We threw it away. They also didn't follow through with our requests, no "gravy" on mine, just green salsa. My father hates onions and requested no onions. They put a fair share of onions in his and mine that were cut in chunks and were raw. Was hoping for a great dinner. read more

Located in a busy older shopping center on the corner of Louise & Main, in the same shopping center as Save Mart. It was a Monday and we decided to give the place a try thanks to the endorsements on Nextdoor. Interior has been freshened up with a modern dia de los muertos decor with what appears to be the previous Mexican restaurants booths & tables. Staff was friendly, efficient and checked in often. Menu is more on the extensive side and even though we're not the combo plate folks we went with the server's recommendations and ordered the Fello's Combo. In fact, I believe this is the only time the Hubbs and I ordered the same exact dish. Crispy Birria taco, steak ranchero, chili relleno, chili Colorado enchilada with rice, beans and extra salad on the plate. Food was fresh but smothered in their thick gravy making it difficult to actually taste the food. I also didn't care for it on my chili relleno which should have a fresh tomato sauce that is more on the light side. On another note, I'm not much of a gravy fan and prefer a red roasted peppers enchilada sauce. The Hubbs loved the gravy but felt it was beef overload with beef 3 ways! Both the Hubbs and I gave the food 3.5 stars. For $16 for a large platter of food, pricing is reasonable, service very good and the babes gobbled up her rice & beans. The restroom was also nicely decorated and very clean, thus the round up to 4 stars. We both decided we'll be back and we'll give other items on the menu a try. read more

Dinner at Fello's Mexican Restaurant, usually their food is excellent but tonight's dinner experience was not good, the guacamole was rancid so we gave it back to the server and did not order another one, our dinner finally came and the consommé that came with the Birria was also rancid and only came with 2 tortillas, not to mention while eating with one hand we both were shooing flies away with the other hand! We haven't been there in a while and couldn't understand why they lack proper food storage. Our server was very nice and helpful and totally understanding, she did agree that the guacamole was rancid. Fello's was one of our favorites but unfortunately we will not return. RUN, don't walk to this restaurant! I've seen it for a while now and kept meaning to try it and finally did with my husband and I'm so glad we did! It is some of the best Mexican food we've ever had. He ordered the torta and I did a 2 item combo with a chile relleno and a chicken chimichanga. The meat was seasoned beautifully! It did have a lot of chicken but I just scraped some of mine out.
