I read the reviews prior and they brought me here to see for myself . The service from walking in the door was prompt and very welcoming. I ordered a chicken torta which in my opinion is now gonna be a go to for me when I'm in Manteca. The chips and salsa were fresh and very good. This is a family friendly restaurant and the decor inside is very nice . If you'd like to have a drink with your meal they have a full bar set up and if I wasn't driving , a margarita would've been a perfect match with my torta ... Definitely a revisit by me will happen and I will pass this on to friends and family that will and are in the area. read more

I thought I'd get some lunch to go. Ordered what I wanted plus the drink. I asked if I can get a couple of slices of Limes or lemons with my burrito that I had ordered at the counter.... The front counter lady said it would have to be an extra cost for a couple of slices of lemons or limes.....I asked her to run that be me again. She said it will coast extra for slices of limes or lemon. She said that Is their rule...it blew my mind That asked for limes for Mexican Food At charge . That was Greed and lacked any customer Satisfaction for 2 slices of lemon or lime. Ordered food to go. Said it would be ready in about 15-20 minutes and it was. Food tasted great. I like how they include the sides. Prices are worth the size of the plates. My only confusion is that ive ordered the same plate multiple times to go and ive been charged 3 different prices out of the 4 times ive went there. Ill be asking for a receipt next time because now I'm worried they may be adding an additional tip on top of what I include or maybe they just ring things up differently with each person. Either way I feel of in ordering the exact same plate each time, I should only be charged one price. Other than that customer service isn't bad. We are here for lunch yesterday after volunteering at the food bank. This was my second visit to this restaurant. Our party was promptly seated and drink/food orders taken. We were brought chips and salsa to snack on while our food was being prepared. I ordered the fish plate as a healthy option. It came out with two large fillets, veggies, and salad as my side. It's been a while and I recently went again, so I thought I'd update my experience. Unfortunately, still just pretty average overall. Service - The service was good overall. The one bad mark was when they brought my bill they had misplaced my credit card. It was found by another patron right at the entrance/exit of the restaurant. That could've been really bad and I'm not really sure how my card ended up there, but it did make it back to me thanks to an attentive guest. Food - The food was pretty good overall. The one bad mark was that I got the taco salad (La Compuesta) and the flour shell the taco salad came in was extremely stale. That's usually my favorite part is breaking it up and kinda turning it into nachos as I finish, but I couldn't even eat it. Very disappointing. The stuff on the inside was quite tasty though. Overall, a mixed bag result and when you factor in you're likely paying over $20 per person, I just don't see the appeal. It's good, but not that good. read more

My absolute favorite go-to for Mexican food. I ALWAYS get the arroz con pollo, always. It's the best around, and I've tried it everywhere I see it offered. The flavors are unmatched. OK, first of all let me say we came back to this place because we liked it so much the last time and being it was Mother's Day I knew it would be packed. But it wasn't too long of a wait something like 20 minutes. Service was excellent as usual. Margaritas were great. Food was excellent which I will put up a couple of pictures. We had the Molcajete combination with steak chicken and shrimp plus the sides plus chips and salsa ambience is always nice in this place. They keep it looking great overall I will give this five stars again Because everything was great reasonable prices for what you get so we will be back again. My family always comes here for birthdays and milestone celebrations. We are always greeted with great service and hospitality. Our most recent visit was for my dad's birthday and he still talks about how it was one of the better dinners he has had so I thought I would leave a review as a thank you. The whole staff came out to sing him happy birthday and caught him by surprise. All of our meals were delicious and hearty. They come in big portions so we do family style or share around the table so we get to try a little bit of everything. The chicken fajitas always hit the spot and enchiladas are pretty popular in my family. Ambiance is always energetic and the table salsa + thick fresh flour tortilla chips hit the spot! read more

I'm from San Jose and I have family and lots of friends here in Manteca. My mom's been living here for about 20 years. She's never been here until I brought her. We love this place. I already loved this place. We love Maddie and she always gives us excellent service. We order the Sopes plate and have tried numerous other items. All the food we order has been delicious and filling. We choose the bar area when we visit and we have a good time laughing and enjoying the atmosphere of our favorite restaurant. Got sat at the table for a chips and drinks and then nothing. Took 20 minutes and me asking a waitress if someone could take our order. I drive from the East Bay just to go to El Jardin. They have the best Enchiladas Del Mar. I get the crab with garlic butter and green sauce. I usually get them to go because the Molcajete bowl is fabulous and I can't resist, it is huge and it is lots of fun to share! The flour tortilla chips are worth the drive on their own. read more

Ok.. Let's be real. ALMOST anytime you visit a "whole in the. Wall" style restaurant, the food usually ends up being top tier!! Now. I do t consider this a hole in the wall but is now at big as most spots. The food however. Yeah. Let's get right to it.. we came in. On Sunday. Had about a brief 10min wait, seated and got right to business. Waiter took our drink order after a short 5 mins. Which was great and did the usual, which was brought out some chip and salads. The chips and sala were good. Super fresh and packed good flavor and texture both the chips and the salsa. The little slaw they brought. Was horrible to OUR taste pallet. May be different for you all's. It just wasn't a taste I or my family liked. Go figure lol. But the food. They have a pretty extensive menus and to be honest. It was hard for me to choose. EVERYTHING sounded soo good from the descriptions. I finally settled on a Del Mar enchiladas with Alaskan crab meat. drool much reasonably priced come with two enchiladas a side of refried beans covered in cheese and a side of Spanish rice. I also ordered a pork tamale smothered in red/green sauce and cheese on top. Took about 10-15mins to get back to us. Reasonable time. I was ready to walk straight back to the kitchen and hug the chef. Sheeesh!!! So nicely presented. Wifey ordered the 3 Item combination which was 2 steak enchiladas and 1 steak tacos., my son ordered a Steak Supreme Burrito, (Which by the way was MASSIVE). They both demolished their plates I was rather shocked that my son finished most the burrito. It was so fat he had to eat it with a fork. The taste of everything was soo on point. Kinda reminds me of being in Old Town San Diego. Flavors were just exactly what they looked like they would be and then some. We have a rule that we live buy. You try the beans first. If those are hittin then chances are the rest of the food is going to be on point. And it was!!! The staff there moves very fast like crazy fast there. They are nice and courteous. The ambiance is definitely vibey. Just wish the booths and tables had a bit more space. That's my only draw.. but other than that. Excellent experience. We'll definitely be back again. Meat was tender. And the veggies were sautéed down so it was soft and flavorful. Not too spicy if you eat spicy. 2/5 spice level. Overall really good tacos 5/5. Large amount of rice and beans too. This probably is some of the WORST Mexican food I ever had! If it wasn't for the nice hostess(I forget her name) I would definitely not give this place even the one star. I had to wait for over an hour for a to-go order. The food wasn't even edible! I ordered two chicken enchiladas, rice, and beans and the only I could finish was the rice and the chips/salsa that came with the meal. The chicken enchiladas weren't even edible and fell apart.
