In general, the food was okay. The carne asada was a little to cooked so it just fell out of the taco. The shell had a bad shape so I could not eat it like a regular taco so I just broke the shell and used it to scoop everything that fell out. read more

Came in on a Wednesday afternoon We were skeptical since no one else was there but I'm so glad we gave this restaurant a chance. The complimentary chips and salsa(bomb). I got the enchiladas one beef, one chicken w/ half red and half green sauce came with rice and beans, baby let me tell you these were sooooo good. Also got a soup and a burrito. Vida Mia may not be new, but the new management is definitely bringing fresh energy. I'll admit, the menu felt a bit overwhelming at first--there's a lot to choose from, maybe too much--but the warm, friendly service made up for it right away. I had two kids with me, and the staff went out of their way to find crayons and coloring pages to keep them busy. That level of thoughtfulness goes a long way. The food itself is truly authentic Mexican. The salsa served with the chips is a homemade cilantro-based salsa--not the generic pico de gallo some people expect. If you actually know Mexican food, you'll appreciate how fresh and delicious it is. I ordered the enchilada dinner with both red and green chicken enchiladas, and both were absolutely flavorful. The refried beans topped with cheese and the rice tasted homemade and comforting. Everything on the plate felt thoughtfully prepared. Whole table passed on it and getting a taste. I have to admit the birra had good flavor but extreme amount of fat but the chicken in tacos where really good. Don't bother with the asada it was flavorless poor quality beef like most taco trucks and lots of fat as well. Could not take a bit without inedible fat throughout. This place was great. New ownership, and I think they changed the menu a little bit. I miss the refried beans with the salsa that they used to have there, and free refills would be nice. The inside is nice, bright and clean. The server couldn't answer our questions about the salsas or tacos with any certainty. I asked if the taco shells were deep fried and she said you mean taquitos? She didn't understand and I didn't know how else to ask that question. They were homemade, deep fried shells:-) The shredded beef was ok, lacking flavor as were the tacos and burrito. The salsa was like nothing I've had before, it was orange colored and didn't taste like any salsa I've ever had. They don't have a regular red salsa or pico de gallo. The chips were good and overall the food was ok. When we got the bill we were charged $2.99 for the guacamole with the burrito, the menu said add sour cream or guacamole $1.50. If it had said $2.99 I would not have ordered it. The server said the menu is all wrong when I brought it to her attention, but she did refund the money. My wife and I used to go to this restaurant. Our favorite dish is the Chile Verde. Today we stopped by and the first thing I noticed that there were no customers inside. The music was ear piercing, so we decided to take out. Before we used to get a nice big size of cup of meat and the rice, beans, salsa, chips on the side with the corn tortilla. Well, those days are gone it seems. There must've been a change of ownership as everything is different now. Instead of the meat in the cup, now we got everything in a plastic carry out tray. The rice and beans are less than before, there's no cheese on the beans. A tiny little bit of salad mixed in with the meat. The meat looked like shredded meat and perhaps half the amount compared to the old serving. The food was very salty. The salsa is a weird looking orange colored sauce. Didn't see any onions or tomatoes, just a very little cilantro. No jalapenos. Honestly, I have no idea what was in it. However I tried it and actually I liked it. Perhaps the only thing I liked about the whole dinner. I must say tonight experience was rather disappointing. I was debating whether I should give one star or two. (I'm giving two because I liked the taste of the salsa even though I have no idea what was in it?) I am sorry to say we are not going to return again. We had a late craving for Mexican food and our usual spot closed at 8:00pm, so we decided to give Vida Mia a try since they are new in town, and I'm glad we did! First impression- our meals were thoughtfully and beautifully presented. The taste test- delicious, traditional but with a very distinct flavor, like you would get from your Abuela, it's unique to her and there's nothing else quite like it! Friendly greeter, Andrea, welcomed immediately and let us choose a spot to sit that allowed us to keep an eye on our jeep and loaded trailer she gave us menus and chips and salsa. The salsa is an uncommon yellow orange with cilantro, tasty and mildly spicy! We ordered beers and perused a lengthy menu. We decided on the Chili Relleno with Carnitas and green sauce and the Cameron's de Cucaracha supposedly the spiciest option. They both came with a nice serving of not runny beans, well seasoned rice and a simple but dressing- less salad. The Relleno was well filled with perfect Carnitas in a fluffy batter drizzled with crema and surrounded by a really good green sauce! My Camarones were tender and tossed in a thick, rich, Smokey sauce made with chilis de Arbol. The sauce was amazing with the shrimp and rice! I picked up every single chili and sucked the sauce off, it was THAT GOOD! Both dishes were the cleanest and freshest tasting I've had in a loooong time! This place should be hopping! When my fajitas came out at Vida Mia, the sizzling was so loud that everyone in the restaurant turned to look -- The smell filled the room and the fajitas were absolutely delicious, and the homemade tortillas took them to another level. Flavors! Vida Mia does not disappoint when it comes to bringing out the authentic Mexican Sabor (flavor) with their dishes. The chipotle enchiladas are delicious as well as the Al pastor burrito bowl my wife and I ordered. I would give 5 stars but when I first came to this restaurant it had a great presentation of 3 salsas and a nice basket with chips to make it feel like a more high end place. Just came back recently, and met the new owner, he was very nice and courteous and wanted to make sure we were comfortable. The decor needs an update but my guess is since there in transition that may come soon enough . Environment was quiet because it was late in the evening and looks like they were just getting ready to close up, but other than that it looked clean. I was really impressed that they had three options of salsa for the chips. Chips will be made in house soon enough, which will be a plus. Food was really good. Unfortunately it wasn't a great first impression. I had the wet burrito (carne asada) with red sauce and I was instantly caught off guard by how much the sauce reminded me of spaghetti'Os upon tasting it. I decided to let the Mrs. taste it without telling her how I felt about it because I honestly thought my taste buds were glitching since there is no way a legit mexican restaurant would think it'd be acceptable to cover a burrito in canned tomato sauce, or anything like it.
