I never thought about it much. I just walked up to the truck, looked at the menu, ordered my food, and enjoyed the hell out of it. I am certain I have been getting great food from the truck, El Jacalito, for sometime now and highly recommend it.

The sign said Taquizas so that's what we'll go with for now (though the trailer did say Magda's tacos or Tacos Magda). I ordered 3 tacos (asada, pastor, Chicken), a quesabirria and a horchata. Pastor had some nice char and was relatively tender. My favorite Al Pastor tacos pretty much always have some form/taste of pineapple but theirs to me just doesn't have it. Maybe it was drowned out by the salsa? The asada was fairly standard, nothing to write home about. Not especially tender or tough. Tad dry though. Of the regular tacos, the chicken was the most standoutish. Very moist and tender. On the negative though, it was VERY salty to the point where I almost didn't finish it. The quesabirria had some positives and negatives too. The tortilla was nicely done with just the right amount of crisp. The meat itself was a tad tough and dry though. And this is possibly the first time that I had a quesabirria that didn't come with consommé for dipping. Quesabirria just doesn't hit the same without it. And with quesabirria I also prefer that green salsa already inside it as opposed to putting it on after the fact. They had a table with all of the condiments and toppings like salsa and onions. I was more than happy to do it myself for the regular tacos. The horchata was so grainy and not refreshing at all. Not super sweet either so I guess that's a plus. Don't know how horchata is made; is it blended because if so it definitely needed to be blended even more. Or is it strained out? I don't know. The person who took my order was very pleasant though. They also got my food out pretty quickly. I don't think I could give them more than a 3/5 and that's a little generous.

The restaurant is seated to the back of the parking lot with a liquor store to the right. You know, you've found the place with their large grill on the corner of the lot. The Hubbs had stopped in previously after going to the liquor store next-door for an energy drink and had gotten a mini burrito which he felt had homemade flavor and great size to eat while driving to work. When you walk in your hit with a bunch of mini boards and behind that is an open kitchen, where two ladies were doing prep and cooking. We decided to get a sampling of their food and got a chili verde sope, shrimp & al pastor tacos, Quesabirria tacos and a mini carne asada burrito. The food is all made to order and had a fresh homemade taste to it. Surprisingly the mini burrito which I thought would be basic had a great taste and size. The salsa bar has several options and all the items were also very fresh. The food has a homemade quality, they're not skimpy with the toppings, and the price won't break the bank.

Salsa bar was pretty good they had a lot of options as well as grilled/pickled veggies. Food came out and the quesadillas were sliced in a narrow way which i liked cuz i can dip in the salsa. Tacos were also good and flavorful. Overall great place for Mexican food. For sure would come back and try their ribs or other meats.

This is what a $17.99 pozole looked like after I was charged an additional $1.99 for extra hominy, for a total of about $20. It had no meat at all, and the extra hominy I paid for was barely noticeable. When people order takeout, it's usually because they're in a hurry. Customers shouldn't have to check every order before leaving to make sure they're getting what they paid for. This has happened more than once, and it's very frustrating.

I had an aqua fresca that was good, but did not taste house made. I had a breaded fish taco and a pastor taco. Again, good, but the sauce on the pastor was really too hot and spicy for me. We had guacamole and chips which were good, a enchilada, and fries/chicken strips, which tasted ok-but the strips appeared to be the kind you get at a fast food place. Now the server was outstanding! She was very attentive, answered all of my questions and was very knowledgeable about the menu, which had a lot of items on it. The restaurant was really clean and had great decor. The bar area looked nice and had TV's-thus the cantina portion. Pricing is fair, especially on taco tuesday. Overall, everything was good, but I've experienced dazzling at other restaurants I have experienced and reviewed. If your in the area, why not give it a try.

I've ordered quesadillas from many places and have never received one prepared this way, so I brought it back to the counter to clarify. I explained that I was expecting a traditional quesadilla with cheese and meat and that this wasn't what I wanted. The employee told me that's how they normally make them, which is fine if that's their standard, but it wasn't communicated when ordering. What disappointed me was the lack of effort to resolve the issue. Rather than offering to remake it or correct the order, I was asked if I wanted to purchase another one. I wasn't looking to buy a second meal--I simply wanted the item I originally expected. The interaction left me feeling like customer satisfaction wasn't a priority, which was disappointing.
