Been here twice now for a bag of crab for two people, both times during the rush, and both times the wait was 20 minutes or less. That's solid. Service was good both visits too -- we never had to hunt anyone down or sit there wondering where our food was. The Cajun fries are what I keep thinking about. The seasoning on them is really good. Prices feel pretty fair for a seafood boil -- not cheap, but not Sacramento-trip expensive either. I'd rather come here than drive all the way out there for something that's basically the same price. Mixed drinks were good. Favorite so far is the tamarind margarita. This is my go-to seafood boil spot now. I'll be back. read more

My friend and I share a mild seafood boil because she cannot tolerate spicy food and we cannot finish a whole bag on our own. The bag arrived much spicier than expected, and my friend was barely able to eat it. When we brought it up, our server immediately insisted it was the correct spice level rather than checking with the kitchen or trying to find a solution. She also assumed I would finish the entire bag myself, when I explained we share one, and would have to charge us extra for a new bag or small side portion for my friend but it was not our mistake. What disappointed me most was the lack of service recovery. There was no apology, no effort to investigate, and no attempt to accommodate the situation. We passed by this place and decided to give it a try since the reviews seemed decent, but unfortunately we were very disappointed with our meal. Originally, we planned to order one of their combo deals where you can choose two seafood options (1 lb each) along with sausage and corn. However, we were surprised to learn that we couldn't select shrimp for both seafood choices. The combo required two different types of seafood and the server was quite rude about it. I honestly don't understand the reasoning behind that restriction. It's not like we were trying to order two pounds of crab legs, we just wanted shrimp. Because of that policy, we ended up ordering à la carte instead and got 2 lbs of head-on shrimp with sausage and corn as sides, which yes was more expensive even though it was the same options in the combo. The shrimp itself was fine, and the sausage and corn were okay, but the sauce completely missed the mark. We chose the house sauce that combines all the flavors, and it was one of the worst seafood boil sauces I've had. It was extremely heavy on the black pepper, to the point where you could see pepper specks covering everything. Despite that, it somehow lacked flavor. The sauce was also very oily and thin, rather than rich and buttery like you'd expect from a good seafood boil. The sauce was so unappealing that we didn't even finish the shrimp. We took the leftovers home thinking we might be able to salvage them, but after trying them again, we ended up throwing everything away. we were also never checked on after we were brought our food.  Unfortunately, this was not a meal I'd order again, and I wouldn't return. read more

Had left Akitaca Crab when they totally had us wait when there was no line and plenty of tables. Went to Bag o crab and this place was way busier and lines of peeps waiting. We put our name on the list and had to wait 10 mins to get seated. We didn't mind since they seem to have more staff to handle the crowd. We got seated and within a minute or so, our waitress came over to greet and take our order. We got the combo 3 with Dungeoness crab seasoned with garlic butter medium. Added 2 garlic noodles and 2 side of rice. Overall, I got my crab fix and my wife had her shrimp fix. Our waitress Soledad was great. Very friendly and attentive. It was by birthday and I wanted a seafood boil so the fams took me here. I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised. I got a medium atomic combo which was really good. I tried the kids' chicken strips and Cajun fires-also legit. The staff was young and energetic, they were very helpful answering all our "first timer" type questions. I also have to give them credit as I noticed they dealt with numerous rude demanding customers at other tables unusually well. Get here before 5 PM and you won't have to wait long, good luck anytime past that as they seem to be the only game in town. I almost forgot: a freaking robot-server-thing sang me happy birthday. Party of 2 and the things we ordered. We got 2 seafood bags (1 lb of crawfish + 1lb of mussels and 1lb crawfish + 1lb of clams). Clam chowder, oh boy. Was not the best chowder, would I order again,no. 2 sides of rice. And the biggest downfall was when we ordered our chicken wings, mango flavored. We didn't even finished, our wings were raw! We told our server but she was fighting with us, telling us that's how they served their wings. Never had a raw chicken wings, from any other places, so that was an experience. I drive over an hour to get a bag. Last night was dinner rush when I called numerous times and was sent to voicemail. Walked in placed my order 3/4 head off 1 whole crab Potatoes Sausage Corn. Add another 3/4 head off and some garlic noodles. $100 and some change Got home (56 miles away) to a THICK THICK "sauce" 13 shrimp, whole crab, 2 corns, 3 sliced pieces of sausage and 1 potato... :( Check to go orders on way out I guess... this was almost inedible and the crab was a bit "ammonia" like having us to choose not to eat it. Is the thick curry type sauce a thing now? Super bummed and disappointed. The place was packed with a line out the door as well, maybe that's why the order wasn't done correctly. Honestly, I hate writing these type of reviews but this was very disappointing and I won't be coming back. It looks like I'll have to find another Cajun seafood place... Just for background, we arrived here around 8:40 and ordered combo #2 which comes with a lb of snow crab legs, shrimp, some potatoes, corn and sausage. At around 9:35, our waitress came by and asked us if we were ready for the check. We weren't even half way through the bag and were still eating. I didn't think much of this until she came back 10 mins later and asked if we needed a box and if we are ready to take care of the bill. I realize that the place closes at 10pm, but there is still no need to rush us like that, especially when there is still people eating at the restaurant. We would have finished right at 10 anyways. I felt uncomfortable so we paid for our meal and left. When we walked out at 10:05, there were still people eating inside. We ordered the garlic noodles, shrimp , chicken wings, grilled fish and kids chicken tenders basket. The kids basket was so small and thin. The grilled fish entree was so "fishy" kind of hard to eat. The garlic noodles were so oily and had no flavor. The chicken wings. Do not order them. I had food poisoning last November. And today I thought I was going to get it again. Me and my boyfriend had stopped by this location for the first time together. There was no weight and the server was really friendly. She was checking in on us throughout our visit and made sure that our water cups were filled. I usually try the combo that comes with sausage, corn, and potatoes. My boyfriend and I were craving a Cajun seafood boil so we decided to check Bag o' Crab out! We came here on a Sunday evening around 7 pm and there was surprisingly only about a 10 minute wait for us to get seated! I ordered 1 pound of the head-on shrimp (for full flavor town) with atomic sauce (basically all the sauces on the menu together minus the Louisiana) with no spice + added some Louisiana sausages (an order = six sausages). My boyfriend got the head-off shrimp (he doesn't like to work for his food lol) with atomic sauce with mild spice. In addition, we ordered a side of rice and garlic noods. I like that we get to adjust the spice level because for a girlie with zero spicy tolerance, I would refrain from eating Cajun food since it usually has some spice. We each also got a "starter kit" of a pair of gloves, bib, napkins, to-go box, and hand cleansing wipes. I am very impressed with the flavor of the garlic noods; I've been to other Cajun food restaurants and usually the garlic flavor would be super subtle but these garlic noodles were very buttery and the garlic flavor was strong. The atomic sauce was also very good; I would say if you added spice to the sauce, it is more flavorful compared to sauces with no spice added. The mild wasn't too spicy (I thought the sausages were actually more spicy) and this is coming from someone with a spice tolerance of 2 Hot Cheetos. Overall, the restaurant was very clean, especially as we're eating a messy meal. Our drinks and food were brought out by a cute little robot and our food actually came out relatively fast (maybe 5 minutes after we ordered). Ordered a pound of shrimp and had leftovers for about three more meals and for $18.95, you can't beat it. Server was extremely helpful in helping us decide what seasonings and add ons to get. Came here on a weeknight. The parking lot was full. Luckily we didn't have to wait too long for a table. The menu options are typical of a Cajun seafood boil. The prices were good for the quantity of you got one of the combos. The appetizers weren't very impressive, however the seafood boil definitely hit the spot. Oysters were WAY too garlicky. Only tasted the garlic chunks and not much of anything else. Garlic noodles were simple, if probably use the term basic. Fried chicken had little flavor. I like kickin crab and boiling pot so having something like this close by definitely is comparable and i liked the combo i got. Had the fried calamari with sweet potato fries. The fries had sugar added, tasty but not diabetic friendly. The calamari looked like onion rings, thick squid and had thick coating. Not a fan! Tasted like the fried fish. All the boiled meals looked like soup in a bag. The octopus was chewy. Clams good but why so much sauce. The robot delivered the food and was blaring music. The food was delicious. I enjoyed the Korean wings and shrimp. I did not particularly like the atomic blend, but I loved the Louisiana. My aunt found a gnat in her beverage. they reuse the paper menus that are ripped with dried food on it. they are insanely overpriced for low quality seafood. I ordered the $93 crab pot for me and my mom and it included 1 whole dungeness crab, 3/4 pounds of shrimp, two corns two potato's 4 sausage cuts, and a pound of mussels. for the amount of food served it was not worth $93. I highly recommend the crab place about a block away, Akatica for half the price and better quality. read more

Still my favorite place to eat in Modesto. We typically order the head-off shrimp with Louisiana "little bit" spicy, garlic noodles, Cajun fries, mango habanero wings. Louisiana sauce is finger-licking delicious. Garlic noodles, I've noticed sometimes vary in portion size.. if visiting during a busy time the portion seems to be smaller. But flavor wise always taste really good, they have just the right amount of garlic. Cajun fries nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The wings are all flat type wings which is a huge plus. And the mango habanero sauce is not quite as spicy as Buffalo Wild Wings sauce, but it does have a good kick to it. I would say it's more sweet than spicy. Make sure to ask for their spicy mayo sauce for your fries. Every so often I'll order the snow crab legs which never disappoint as well. Aside from the great food the service is always 10/10 Our favorite servers are Lisa & Claudia. They're always friendly and make you feel as if you're family when we come in. This place gets really busy especially on weekends. The best time to visit is week days during the day time. The music can vary depending the day you go. I come here all the time because I love the food, but the service from some of the waiters needs better training on how to deal with customers. I ordered my usual dish with a little spice, but as soon as I tasted it, it was too spicy for me to enjoy and definitely not how it normally is at that spice level. I told the waitress, and she looked at me as if I were lying. When we asked if she could have it remade, she seemed unsure and unwilling to ask. She even said I should have ordered it with no spice, but I get that spice level every time I come here and have never had any issues. The whole time we were there, she rarely checked on us and seemed to have an attitude from the start. When she came back she even said the kitchen manager said it's "gonna have spice" but it's never this spicy when I order it. Food is decent, prices are outrageous in my opinion and because it's one of the only seafood places around the line is always out the door and a very significant wait time. The front desk ladies aren't the friendliest, but the waiters and waitresses are always very friendly, they just seem to have too many tables to serve and tend to not stop by to check in. The atmosphere is super crowded and the tables are way too close together. It's a get in and get out quickly kind of vibe which seems so odd when you're paying around $400 for three people. read more

Craving Cajun seafood so why not try this place for the first time. The interior is nice and friendly served. The food here is alright. Had a 3lbs of shrimps with 2 orders of potatoes and sausages and 3 corn on cob. Shrimps are well done and it came with little sauce which also is very thick. When I asked for more sauce the other waitress (not our waitress) was charging extra $5. I was shock to hear that there's additional charge to get more sauce for a 3lbs shrimps. I mean everything was good but that's absurd for additional charge for a Cajun sauce. I don't give a low score but for my experience here it's says it all. read more
