Unfortunately I have to give a low rating, althought i have tried to luje this place a lot. We have been here a few times and service has been ok nothing special but its fine. Last night we went to watch the México world cup game and celebrate my birthday. We walked in waited to be seated and were told to seat ourselves, no one came over to offer water, menus nothing. We grabbed a menu from another table and waited, and waited, and waited. Finally we went to the bar and ordered a bucket of beer and a soda while we watched the game. No one ever came by the 70th minute the young man finally came over and asked if we wanted to place an order, we decided not to and left as soon as the game was over. The wait staff definetly needs more training and they need more help. read more

I thought the food was delicious although the waitresses got out order wrong twice once with my drink and mix up with the Mocaljete, She was sweet apologized and brought us our food and it didn't take very long to refire our order. We ordered a sushi with asada shrimp cheese delicious even better with soy sauce. Also had Margarito Michelada and Mocaljete.... Flavor was great on the food but I would have liked tortillas with the Mocaljete and maybe a little rice and beans. Environment was nice welcoming and plenty of seating. Coming to La Ceiba is always a great meal and a great time. The service is unlike Dos Compadres where they do not even acknowledge the patron to have them be seated. I took a picture of the waitress, she is absolutely wonderful!! Her service is friendly and warm. We had not been in a while, and I'm so glad we came back. We used to come to this location when it was a Chinese Restaurant. We were sad to see it go. However, I am excited to try Mariscos la Ceiba! It always seems packed when we drive by, especially on the weekends. We stopped by today to look at the menu for next time. The restaurant has a big open feel to it. Plenty of room to get around. The gentleman I spoke to (in English and my limited Spanish) was very courteous and easy to talk with. He gave us a menu to look at and I wish I would have snapped some photos to share, like he suggested. The menu is pretty big, lots of items to choose from. Plus, they have daily (weekday) specials listed on the front doors inside. I posted a photo of it, in English and Spanish. Most dishes without a special are about twenty dollars each. What a neat place! We happened upon this place as it seemed to be the only place open on Easter that looked good. There were plenty of cars in the parking lot so we thought it must be good. We heard very loud music and someone signing into a microphone in Spanish. It seemed very upbeat upon entering, we needed a cheerful happy place that day as we are dealing with the recent loss of a family member. We had no idea what we were going to experience. Everyone was having a good time. The performer was interacting with everyone, it was so much fun. The food was made fresh and it was delicious. It takes awhile for the food but it's worth the wait, no problem. We talked with a few people there and they asked if we had been there before, nope, but they had been there a few times and enjoyed it. We will definitely be back. read more

I visited this place recently and was extremely disappointed. I ordered a shrimp dish that was served completely raw. When I told the server I didn't want raw shrimp, she told me "that's how it comes" and refused to take it back or offer any kind of replacement. I explained that serving raw shrimp can be dangerous due to the risk of bacteria and foodborne illness, but she didn't seem to care and still charged me the full amount. Luckily, I didn't get sick--but I found it unacceptable that they would serve shrimp that raw and not even attempt to make the situation right. In my experience, ceviche--even in Mexico--is prepared with shrimp that's been cooked or at least properly cured in citrus. This shrimp looked freshly cut and completely uncooked. Even sushi restaurants usually don't serve shrimp that raw. Beyond that, the service was spotty. No one offered to substitute the dish, apologize, or discount the meal. I still paid and even left a tip, but I left feeling very disappointed. I won't be back--and honestly, I've never been a huge fan of mariscos to begin with, and this experience just sealed it for me. read more

The food was delicious. I had asada Sope. It was a lot bigger than I was anticipating so I also got two tacos the sope was crispy but also soft in the inside loaded with meat. My husband picked up some food yesterday and I was craving seafood so we decided to order from here. We went to a baile a few months back but never ordered food just drinks but looked delicious. It was not!! We got the camarones cucaracha; it tasted like chipotle and chile guajiro with no flavor. The empanadas de camarón were not cooked. The only thing that was slightly good was the sushi. I did ask if the seaweed can be removed and they said "that's how it comes". Hubby and I went to this restaurant on Cinco De Mayo and we had a good time listening to the mariachi band and enjoying each other over a nice meal and drinks. This is a brand new Family style Marisco restaraunt. The food was fresh and tasty, better than most in the area. The service was also very professional and timely. The interior is newly remodeled. There are plenty of tables a large stage with start of the art audio and lighting. This place is scheduled to have live Banda on Friday and Saturday nights. The food here really is delicious ,the quality of their meat and the way it's cooked is appreciated ,for example their asada burritos don't have overcooked overly seasoned meat ,it's sliced right with nice size chunks so when I bite the burrito I can actually feel the meat ,their Birria tacos are nicely grilled and crunchy as most restaurants claim "grilled to perfection" ,but they all fail .. this restaurant is GREAT! The food was presented well, however, for a sixty dollar cocktail I believe the cucumber and onion filler was a bit much. Cocktail consisted of two shrimp skewers, some sliced octopus and a few slices of shrimp along mixed in with a lot of cucumber and onion to fill in the rest of the cup and plate.
