I haven't been there yet, but was looking for a special item that i could not find here in Modesto, so I emailed them and they said they could order it for me. I lived on the East coast most of my life and know good seafood, and even though i haven't physically been there, I can tell that they are a great place to get the freshest seafood in our area. They supply restaurants so that should tell you something. I plan on going next month for sure (July). read more

Quality went so far down. It reeks like rotting fish!!! I only got halibut because they were cutting it fresh. I will not be back!

Omg, my hubby picked up thirty oysters last week. Wow, so glad my hubby found this gem of seafood. This is now our seafood spot. The oysters were fresh, delicious, and a fair size too. No more traveling to San Jose for our seafood cravings. We were shopping at Savemart and picked up oysters from there, and thirty oysters didn't open up on the grill. We were so upset. My hubby has been here before, picking up other seafood. Also, my neighbor Sharlene highly recommended this place too. We're definitely coming here from now on. read more

Ohana Seafood - 20x scallops for 50$. - Seafood Markets Near Me - Modesto, California

I have been a customer of Ohana seafood before they move to their current location. Couple things that I have observed: one customer service is important, they remember your name if you're a regular and they operate a nice clean operation. Everything that I have purchased seafood related has been A+. I used to think I was allergic to oysters however after a confirmation that I am not I have learned to enjoy a variety of oysters all coming from Ohana. So go in shop with your eyes get on their mailing list get the current list of fresh seafood And enjoy. read more

Definitely a diamond in the valley if you like fresh seafood. They are only open limited hours so just be aware to plan accordingly. You can call ahead also. Great family owned small business. read more

I've purchased seafood from here before and they have gone the extra mile to find me some not so common items. I recently had some questions about an order and they responded at 8:30 at night which is rare these days. If I ever buy seafood I also make sure to buy it here. You won't be disappointed with the quality and customer service! read more

This place was recommended to me by the mchenry village butcher. I needed Chilean Seabass for an important birthday celebration and could not find it anywhere. Ohana's= fresh!!! Ohanas had beautiful swordfish and Alaskan salmon and I decided to place my order. They packaged it up very nice and included a bag of ice so my fish stayed chilled on my drive home. I took home 4 salmon portions and 2 swordfish steaks. The swordfish was inch thick . I prepared the fish simply they way I always make it. I have to tell you- the salmon was probably the best salmon I have ever cooked in my life! It was buttery and tender and so full of flavor. The swordfish I made with a lemon garlic sauce. I pan seared the fish and finished off in a very hot oven, drizzled the garlic lemon mixture in the last few minutes. Needless to say, the birthday dinner was a success and I owe it to Ohana's!!! Not only are they a purveyor of fresh seafood- they have great customer service and went above and beyond. It was very nice to know how long they have been in business and the humble beginnings of how they started just before the pandemic. I wish them the best- and I will definitely be back to try out other fish!!!! read more

Recently had Boston clam chowder, made from scratch, and it was exceptional. Not starchy.

A hidden gem! I had been wanting to stop by for so long and today I finally made it happen. I was not disappointed, other than being disappointed that I didn't go before now. Service was above and beyond. I asked questions about my selection and I was educated which I greatly appreciated. I picked up some grouper and learned best cooking technique. I followed the instructions shared when I got home. It was the best fish dinner I have had in a long time. The fish had great flavor, moist and best of all, FRESH! The fish is reasonably priced and after eating it, all I had to say is LUXURY! I'll be back next week, and the week after that.... Glad I made it by!! Thanks for listening and sharing your knowledge. You make a difference! read more

The sushi here was fresh! The rolls are simple but delicious! We also bought 2 Ora King Salmon Fillets, and they were amazing!!! The quality and freshness were out of this world. The people helping us told me how to cook it and that it was also sushi grade. So I can prep the fish in many ways, even for poke bowls! When walking into the building, it was very much like walking into a large garage or warehouse, but that doesn't bother me I can see it catching some people off guard, but trust me their seafood is worth it so don't be fooled! I also really love the guy who stated "If it lives in the ocean, we can get it" It made me feel like we can rely on them for anything seafood! read more

How have I lived in the Central Valley for over 30 years, and I just found this place - thanks to Yelp! Amazing seafood, the guys that run it are super helpful and awesome to work with. I would suggest getting there early. They are horrible about answering the phone and do respond to texts, but don't be in a hurry. Just go there. Went on a Friday afternoon and there wasn't a wait. Was able to place an order for Saturday and the line was to the door when I went back to pick up my order. I think they sell out pretty quickly. The crab we got was cleaned and prepped and was an amazing price. read more

This is truly a quality seafood market and the family who runs and operates it is fantastic. John is super generous with his time. He will suggest recipes, bring you in the inside to show you the fish if needed. The fish is very decently priced, nothing is expensive in comparison to other local places and it's all very fresh. read more

Ohana Seafood - This is a Peruvian dish made with fresh crab meat. - Seafood Markets Near Me - Modesto, California

The freshness of the Seafood was good, the Service very helpful, thevAmbiance is a Fish market

Ohana, take it to the next level. You need to be open until 5-7pm atleast a couple nights a week. This is how you can grow, sales and life may be fine now but why not just ratchet it up a notch? Modesto is ready for that next step. A meat shop with all proteins in season. Built on the same concept that the local restaurants harvest their meat from you. Not a UPS truck that has been sitting out in the sun for a day. read more

Wow!!!! This hidden gem has the BEST seafood in the Central Valley! My husband and I called last minute in hopes of finding king crab for our dinner party just a few hours away. John was incredibly helpful, going out of his way to have it delivered from his other location just for us. Within the hour not only did we have the biggest, freshest king crab, but we were also surprised with the option of purchasing a variety of quality oysters. John bagged everything up for us along with giving us great cooking tips and threw in lemons. We couldn't be happier. I promised John to take pictures and post but everything looked so damn good we dove in nom-noms first. I need to add- we purchased 3 lbs of king crab for a dinner party of four and had tons left over. These bad boys were chubby! I can't wait to go back and try the scallops and snag some more of those oysters I won't be buying seafood from anywhere else. Sorry not sorry Costco. #supportlocal read more

Ohana Seafood - Left over king crab. As recommended low temp bake with white wine, butter, garlic, lemon, pepper, smoked paprika and herbs. Yum! - Seafood Markets Near Me - Modesto, California

Great quality seafood and a real hidden gem of the Central Valley. Very open and unorthodox type of location. Good stuff and variety

What a blessing. Being able to get top-notch Quality Seafood in the heart of the Valley is something I'll preach about. Everything is fresh daily. We love buying the salmon. If you buy multiple fillets the scales will match up because it is all from the same fish. It melts like butter in your mouth. Love the chowder. It is a chowder meant for kings and queens. The owners will treat you like friends/family I don't know if they even recognize me or not but they sure pretend like they do. Thank you! read more

I moved here 5 years ago from the Boston area where fish markets are plentiful. I have been looking for a place like this all along. The staff was so willing to help with anything and answered all my questions. The were so friendly and caring. I will definitely make this my go to place for all seafood and fish needs in the future. I went to pickup fresh wild sea scallops. While I was there I bought a sushi tray. It was the beast I ever had. Thank you my search is over. George V read more

I was recently in Hawaii and was spoiled with fresh seafood from a local market that we enjoyed nightly for 3 weeks. I mentioned to my sis and bro in law there is no place in Modesto to buy freshly caught fish. " I'm going to have to open up a biz". Well....came home and discovered Ohanas! Sooooo delighted to find our source. The freshest seafood around, clean shop, friendly, helpful staff, and the tastiest product around. Thanks Ohanas, keep it up, I'll be there to support! read more

Very disappointed in Ohana service. I preordered ahead of time and they hardly had anything we ordered when we got there Saturday at noon. No large prawns, no oysters at all and no scallops at all. Stood in line for 30 minutes to find out our order wasn't going to be there. Just ruined our Xmas Eve dinner. Thanks for nothing. The least you can do is call us and let us know but I know I know you're so busy and can't possibly do that. Then hire more people to take care of things like that. Very poor customer service. read more
