Awful experience. The only male server in that place was rude and argumentative. I ordered Spicy Vegetarian Fried Rice, and I took a bite and it smelt weird and find out it came with fish/oyster sauce--clearly not vegetarian. When I questioned it, he insisted I should've said "vegan" and claimed fish/oyster sauce is vegetarian, which is ridiculous. Despite multiple requests to talk to owner he showed zero interest to come talk to us in resolving the issue as the server after their mess up bad mouthed and said if we let you in next time ask for Vegan Fried rice. Many reviews mention this same behavior of rudeness of the server. Will never return. Lost appetite. Had to google to show this place Fish/Oyster sauce is not suitable for vegetarian or vegan (attached photo)

A good place to get your Thai fix! I have been coming here for over 15 years and have seen this place evolve. Despite the time moving forward, they are always consistent and super accommodating. Every staff I come across is very friendly and attentive. They are very knowledgeable on the menu and provide great recommendations. I had a large party for a lunch outing. The server was very patient with us and recommended some of her favorites. The food we received was very delicious and fresh. From the fried chicken wings, spicy garlic calamari, pad Thai, and tom yum koong it all tasted unique with amazing flavor. This place has a bar to order alcoholic drinks plus a bunch of seating. They also have a private section for large groups as long as you book a reservation ahead of time. A downside is their prices are a little higher compared to other Thai restaurants and the portions have gotten a little smaller.

The last time we were here we had such a pleasant experience. Although the place was surprisingly busy late evening on a weekday, the service was great and very quick. This is my first time having Thai food in the CV and I was not disappointed. Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5

Good, clean restaurant. Waiter attentive and pleasant. Tom yum soup okay. Kind of a disappointment. Had with clear broth. Spicy eggplant with tofu excellent. Noodle dish tasty. Only took a pic of soup because forgot to take other pic. Recommend highly with exception of soup unless you like broth without a lot of taste

This is my go-to Thai restaurant. The place itself is located in a well-kept small shopping strip - it is clean and spacious inside. It is a casual place to dine with friends and family - and they can accommodate groups. They always have lots of people ordering to go as well. This family-run business always gives excellent service. They are very polite and work so hard to ensure you have exactly what you need. The food is fresh, delicious and comes out quickly. It is the best Thai place in the area. They also offer several gf dishes! I never get any pictures because we always just dive right in. My staples are the spring rolls - it comes with 6 and the best peanut sauce I've ever tasted (I think they make it from scratch). I love their Tom Yum Kai soup - you need to order it Thai style...sooo good! And the pad sweet and sour hits the spot! I've ordered multiple other dishes, but those are my go to. I almost always have leftovers as the portions are a good-size, so I get to enjoy the food another day. Come try it! The food is fresh, delicious and healthy- your taste buds will be happy!

The service was great and food was excellent! We ordered the seafood soup, spicy seafood rice and pad see ew (I hope I'm spelling it correctly) and everything was tasty. Just like its name. Maybe I'll move to Modesto!

This bar has an underrated, easygoing pulse that a lot of places try for but can't quite land. No shouting, no chaos, just gentle conversation, light laughter, and that familiar hum of people enjoying being out without needing to prove anything. The bartender, Amy, we actually sang "Broken" by Seether & Amy Lee together at karaoke here a couple weeks ago, pours with care. You can feel when someone takes pride in the small things, a clean pour, a quick smile, a read on the room. She has that. The crowd here tonight is relaxed. Mixed ages, no pressure, no edge. Just people unwinding from the week. It is a place where you can sit with a beer, breathe for a minute, and not feel like the world is tugging at you. Plenty of seating, the lighting is warm, the décor is classic without being stale, pool tables in good shape, and a vibe that makes you want to stay for just one more....because it is comfortable. That is rare. Donoby's isn't loud about who it is. It doesn't need to be. It just is....and that's what keeps a place alive. I'll be back.

It's not chaotic karaoke. It's not ego-driven. It's a room where singers are respected, the sound is dialed in, and the energy rises and falls naturally throughout the night. What I appreciate most is how they run the floor. Rotation stays fair. The mic levels are balanced. Adjustments are made when needed. They're paying attention -- and that matters when you care about your performance. I've watched the room swell to 60+ and ease down to a tight circle near closing, and both versions feel good. Big crowd? Electric. Smaller crowd? Intimate and locked in. That's leadership from the booth. And here's the exciting part: Starting Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 8PM, they're opening another karaoke night during the week. That tells you everything. They're not coasting. They're building. Opening a Tuesday gives local singers another space to sharpen their craft, support a venue that supports them, and bring life into a traditionally slower night. That's good for the performers and good for downtown. This worked fine for us. We had our menus and drinks in a reasonable time, and had a relaxing time throughout. We both had the pulled pork sandwich along with the ice tea. I also had the cup of chili - nicely spiced). I enjoyed my sandwich (skipping the bun, as I am trying to limit carbs). My friend, whom I realized often fusses about the meals we share, was more critical. His comments were "Wrong bun, hamburger bun shoulda been an onion bun" and "How long does it take to make a sandwich?" (The wait time was totally reasonable to me.) He didn't like the potato salad (but ate it all with little time spared). He liked the meat in the sandwich, giving it a 5 out of 5. He liked the service less (I felt it was on point and just fine.) The flavors and combinations of how they made their sauce for the brussels sprouts. The little bit of cheese, the roasting, just perfectly. Those Brussels spouts were man. Oh, man, so so good. I mean, I was surprised there were any left at the end of lunch because they were so good. Then there was the deep fried pickles. Pickles are just something that you have to either love Em or you hate Em. But deep fried pickles are just that sour taste that I just have to have. I have to have a sweet and a sour and pickles are just that for us. So we enjoyed them. They were just crispy enpugh on the outside with just a nice firm bite of the pickle, tender. And then that bitterness was really good. And then our main meal came, and there is enough food on that platter for two people to share. So if you're getting it for one, you better be a hearty guy like you gotta be a lumberjack guy to eat this all by yourself. Because this is like a platterful. There is like 6 ribs on that plate, 2 mouds of the pulled pork, 2 big huge scoops of macaroni n cheese and like a bag of those tater tots, then they drizzle, drizzle, drizzle, barbecue sauce. All over it, it was just like mouthwatering. When it hit the table. It smelled so good, it was just amazing. And then we just dove in a little bit, tried this a little bit of that, the ribs fell off the bone. It was so good. Now the restaurant is small and looks like it is a locals kinda spot so it is semi loud with sports and men chopping it up, but there were ladies sitting at various tables and a couple of families so it is semi family friendly if you dont mind the bar aspect that is bigger than the eating area in my opinion. We only seen one staff member on the floor and one behind the bar while we were there, but the service was quick and the ladies were attentive so it was a good experience. The decor needs an update and it had a 4 out of 5 vibe for me, but I rate food not people so I would go back for that.

Inside room is ok, a bit cold feeling with concrete counters, floors, etc. There were several groups at the bar, 3-4 guys on one end, 2 guys at the other, so I sat in the middle. The first red flag was the female bartender, who was dressed in sweats and a ball cap, like she had just rolled out of bed. Very unprofessional, even for a beer/pub. She seemed disinterested in serving me and was more concerned about talking with the 4 guys. Then another guy & girl joined that group. They all knew one another, obviously regulars. The beer list was decent and well-balanced. 4 IPAs, a couple of Pils/Lager and Stout/Porters, Hazy IPAs, Cider/Selzer, and 4 grocery store beers: Coors Light, Modelo, Bud Light, and ? IPAs were from Henhouse, Drakes, Dust Bowl, and ? Large food menu for such a small place. From the bar, you can easily watch the cook on the flattop. After reading the list of sandwiches, I figured the turkey/ham/etc. was the Sysco-type, inexpensive kind, so I opted for a cheeseburger. Burger & fries arrived on a metal sheet pan. The burger looked good, and the fries looked a bit undercooked (not golden brown). Bun was toasted on the flattop and had a bit of mayo, no mustard, ketchup, etc. Fries came with a small 1oz thimble of ranch. As I suspected, the fries were undercooked. I cut the burger in half, and the center was undercooked. Then I noticed the burger patty was actually two thin patties pressed together. WTF? First bite was a warning- the meat had no seasoning and tasted like cardboard. Thankfully, I got a second beer and washed down the burger. Only ate half of the burger. I'm guessing they sell a lot of booze, because there is no way people are going for the food. I wouldn't be surprised if this place is closed by the end of 2026.

I would give it 5 stars for the friendly service! But I had to knock off 2 stars because what I ordered was not very good. I ordered the Thai tacos and they offered a low-carb version on a bed of lettuce instead of tortillas. The presentation was nice and I know they really tried, but it was pretty bad. The sauce tasted more like ketchup and did not taste like a Thai sauce at all. It was supposed to have chopped peanuts in it but it hardly had any. The chopped chicken pieces were drowned out by the ketchup tasting sauce. I thought there would be more avocado on it but there was only a tiny piece on each taco and they chose a bad avocado because the avocado was turning brown with stringy fiber in it. I couldn't eat it after a few bites. On the other hand hubby had fish and chips which he liked. The french fries were good. So my dish was a bomb while hubby's was decent and predictable. I would return if I'm in the area because the service is so friendly and nice, but I would not order that again. I would try something more mainstream that's hard to botch up like maybe a hamburger or a sandwich.
