    The New Go To!

I've been away some time past and have come back! It's with joy that they are still standing and showing love for the community with great wine, service staff, and ambiance that flow through! With that being said - I'm all good! I'll be back soon!

This place is gorgeous, inside, & out. The S'mores martini was so delicious, I had two, but definitely could have had way more! Food wise they have yummy pizzas, and lots of snack foods, like charcuterie, Brie with fruit, and breads. No huge meals. The bartender was super sweet and gave us great recommendations. The live music set the tone and was the cherry on top! It made our experience really enjoyable, we will most definitely be back.

Great little snacks, quick service and fun selection of wine. I had the white flight and it was the perfect amount and variety. I also ordered the bruschetta sampler. All flavors were good, but a little sweet. I crave a little more savory in my life. My friend ordered the Margherita pizza and that was large enough for us to split, and flavorful. All this topped off with great ambiance and friendly staff. The staff really made it perfect. There was only one person there and he had a full house, but you'd never know it from how well he balanced everything. I'm not from the area, so it made a work stay quite enjoyable.

This is my favorite spot in Modesto! I'm so glad I discovered this gem. It's a beautiful location with indoor and outdoor seating options. There are blankets available if you get cold easily. The servers are very friendly and quickly take your order. I also love that they have live music - definitely adds to the great vibes here. I love the outdoor fire pits and I've always managed to snag one on the weekends. The pizza and pretzel are very good! I also love that they have different board game options. This is a perfect spot for a date night or hanging out with friends.

This is one of my all time favorite places to go if I want a laid-back, wine lounge-y type of ambiance. We have tried a few of their wine drinks, usually they put sake in them since they don't serve liquor but they are delicious. They had a special last time we went, it was a Watermelon Mexican Candy with tequila flavored sake, watermelon flavor and purée I believe, and rimmed with chamoy and tamarindo! My favorite one to date. I also loved the Blueberry Smash, Pink Margarita, and the flavored spritzers. They always have the best fruit purées for mimosas too and a great beer and wine selection. My favorite food to order is the charcuterie board. We get the biggest one (forget what it's called on the menu but it's $24) and it is perfect for 3-4 people if you need something light. I have yet to try the pizza but it looks delightful. The trio spread of pita bread, artichoke dip, goat cheese, and hummus is worth a try too. The soft pretzel and cheese was a little hard so it wasn't my favorite. But everything else was incredible! I forgot the name of our server but she helped us on a Sunday evening! She was amazing and provided excellent service.

The drinks are on the pricier side but it's the type of establishment where it's so worth it. The food is fine for finger food and to have with your drink, the staff is sweet and attentive they really go above and beyond. The vibe is definitely classy, and relaxing. Live music nights are for a cute date idea.

It's a charming little place to gather, indoor or outdoor anytime of the year. Also great for a chill night or special occasion.

I've always wanted to come to this place and finally got the chance to last night. It's so cute! Walking inside, I was kinda skeptical of staying because it was a few older people inside, and it was very quiet. Felt awkward lol. There was an older guitarist there tuning up his guitar about to ay some tunes but the hostess came from outside and seen my face and saved me from the awkwardness of the inside and offered me a seat outside lol. I felt like she read my mind lol. Anyway. AMANDA was amazing. Her service was on point. Checked on us periodically if we needed anything, offered more propane for our fire pit when needed. Shes great. She was also the only person hosting the entire night. My girls and I ordered the mimosa flight, which was bomb! 3 different yummy flavors, so good we ordered a 2nd round lol. We also ordered the fondue, which was okay. Nothing fancy, just cute. The pizza was cool too, nothing amazing but good to snack on. The ambiance is just super cute and chill. I will be coming back during the day so I can experience the outside in a warmer climate. Just think, a Sunday afternoon with my girls or a date, enjoying some mimosas with the sound of their waterfall and light music. Super MOOD! Bathroom was also cute and clean!

Taylor has excellent customer service. He was by himself the few hours I was there and made sure everyone was taken care of. He recommended yummy drinks and snacks.

Staff were friendly and there were menus for the drinks and food. They also had indoor and outdoor seatings. Majority of their menu were handhelds and shareable which is understandable since it's more or a brewery/bar setting. I got the Caesar salad with no chicken as well as the truffle fries. Truffle fries were very good and seasoned. Caesar salad was okay, most of the lettuce was already soggy but i should have asked for the sauce on the side. It seems like their tacos and handhelds are really popular so I'll try that next time. Overall good foods and good times. I'll come back.

Here, you order your food, grab a number, and find your own seat for the food to be brought out to you. We sat at a table outside to decide what to order. There were no menus available so we just had to search for it online before heading inside to order. Despite being third in line from the register, we had an extremely long wait to order. There was only one person running the register who also had to make the drinks, meaning the service incredibly slow. We wanted to order the five taco platter, garlic fries, chicken Caesar salad, and mimosa pitcher. Sadly, we were only able to get the pitcher and salad. The cashier told us "sorry, we aren't doing fries right now." Not doing fries? Every plate in the vicinity had fries on them. She said that because it was brunch hour, only food on the brunch menu could be ordered. We looked at the brunch menu again and literally saw garlic fries as an option as a side for the burgers/sandwiches. No where did it specify that you can't order off the other menu and both were available online. What bothered us about this is that we placed this order at around 1:50pm, and brunch ended at 2:00pm. I understand that we are not entitled to things on the lunch menu during brunch-time for items like the tacos, but considering the menu swap was less than 10 minutes away and they were quite literally were "doing fries" at the time, it didn't make much sense to us. The only food that we ended up ordering was the Chicken Caesar Salad. This one dish took a super long time to receive. By the time it was brought out, the three of us nearly finished the Mimosa pitcher. The waitress noticed we had no silverware and said she would go grab us some. Because of how the service had been going thus far, we placed a bet on whether or not the waitress would come back with the silverware. Surprise, surprise. She didn't. We had to go inside later and search for silverware ourselves. We weren't even able to get sharing plates which was upsetting since the waitress asked us if we would be sharing the salad. The salad itself looked delicious, but was bland. The dressing was missing that zing and zest that a Caesar dressing typically has. I do appreciate that is was a chopped salad, had avocado, and seasoned croutons. It is just unfortunate that it was lacking any flavor at all. The food prices are quite affordable for the quantity of food you receive though. This experience was disappointing because I was so optimistic about the place. The menu looked good, it had fun and casual vibes and a cool crowd of people. If Commonwealth worked towards better service practices, it would have been a more positive experience.

I started out with their house made soda - a sparking strawberry drink that was extremely refreshing. We were there early and had the pleasure of sitting at the counter and talking to Tye - the owner/chef and Shauna the wait staff. Dishes are to share. Tye explained that he serves the dishes in particular order to deliver balance with intensely flavored dishes alternating with milder bites. We started with a simple plate of Marcona almonds, Castelvetrano olives and Manchego cheese. We then enjoyed the cabbage with peanut sauce dish - which may sound unusual but was absolutely delightful. We practically licked the plate - in fact asked for a spoon to capture all of the sauce. Next came whipped feta and ricotta cheese served with thinly sliced stone fruit some chili crisp and honey sprinkled with red walnuts and olive oil. This is served with bread slices. It's hard to describe how delicious and flavorful this dish was with such simple ingredients. We were going to order the steak and chimichurri but were talked into the lamb pops - and we are so glad to have tasted these marvelous lamb chops. They were cooked perfectly. In fact they were so good - we went ahead and ordered the steak too - which was extremely flavorful on its own but served with a fresh house made chimichurri. We also ordered the patatas bravas which were perfectly seasoned and cooked - almost crispy on the outside but creamy on the inside with just a perfect level of heat. We finished the meal with the cinnamon rolls - don't know how they cooked these to perfection so quickly but they were fantastic. Bottom line - how have we not been here before! Most important - we will be back!! Thank you Bauhaus for a great meal and dining experience.

I showed up around 7pm and I thought it might have been closed because no one was here. But they were open. I ordered a Bauer burger with the house seasoned fries. They asked how I'd like the egg cooked and the burger cooked: I asked for medium for both. Given how dead the place was, it did take a minute to get my food. The burger was ok, not worth $21. The bun fell apart very quickly which is a bit of a cardinal sin in the burger game. The bacon on the burger was not bacon strips but a bit of bacon crumble. The patty was a bit overcooked so it was dry and it wasn't seasoned so it was bland. The egg was cooked perfectly, but the aioli and the egg yolk with a disintegrated bun made for a huge mess. The fries were interesting. The house seasoned fries are not salted. So the fries were almost sweet due to the spices, but no salt. And they do not have regular table ketchup or malt vinegar. I did ask for some ketchup and they brought me their house ketchup. While not like a classic ketchup, it was actually quite good. Oh, be aware. They will charge you a 4% fee when they bring you the check (what would have happened if I'd paid with cash?). I do not see anywhere on the menu where they say their is a payment fee so that is a pretty shady business practice. Overall: meh. I think for the price point the burger should have been great, but sadly I can't say it was great or even good. I'd likely not return.
