Came in on a Sunday at 11:30am and there was only a 15-minute wait for a booth for three people. The staff was nice and quick. The food was just your typical diner type, greasy spoon kind of place. I got an egg white omelette with ham (looked like cut up pieces of thin sliced deli meat) and asked that fresh potatoes be boiled in water or steamed in water due to food allergy. What I got was fried potatoes. When I questioned the server he just said that's how they come. Do they not have raw potatoes in the back they could have boiled for me?? The taste of the omelette was meh and I only ate 4 bites. I obviously didn't eat the potatoes. The English Muffin felt oily, like someone touched it with greasy hands. I had asked for it to be dry and with no butter. So basically I didn't eat any of my food and will not be back (this was my third time here and none of the other experiences were any better.) Such a shame because it is only 5-minutes from my house. My dad ordered the chicken fried steak and my mom got the taco salad and both of their meals were inedible too. The food here is just BAD. I told the server I didn't like my food and he didn't even answer me. He took away three plates of uneaten food and no one asked if there was an issue and no manager bothered to come over to even talk to us or try and make it right. What a HUGE waste of money. Don't bother eating here...so many other places to eat that are so much better. This place was packed and no real waiting area...everyone just squished together. This is a hustling and bustling place, so if you are looking for a quiet spot, at least don't go when we did. Best part of this place is their wall for taking pictures. We had a group gathering here this past Sunday and everything was absolutely wonderful. They sat our party in a larger room attached to the main restaurant and the decor throughout the restaurant was so beautiful. I wanted to give a 3.5 I actually thought it was a different restaurant. As I arrived I realized it wasn't what I thought it was but ventured in anyway. The greeting was mediocre, ambiance mediocre. This time my sister got the strawberry cheesecake pancakes while I got the stuffed butter croissant toast all while making it into a meal again so we have some savory items as well. I absolutely love the elegant garden vibes that The Secret Garden offers. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing, making it such a nice place to enjoy a meal. The food is plated beautifully and the taste definitely lives up to the presentation. I had a vanilla latte along with one of their classic breakfasts -- ham, eggs, toast, hash browns, and a pancake on the side. The portions are very large! Had dinner there last night as a friend recommended that we go. We sat in the back ordered what was supposed to be a Mexican dish with shrimp and the red sauce turned out to be marinara Italian sauce. The waiter had not once checked to see if we needed a refill on our water, we also had to ask him for salsa for our meal which he grumbled and said they don't serve salsa then returned with it. The service and food was terrible, we went in very hungry and left displeasured with our meal. Had to go to kaiser and modesto and the place I wanted to eat at wasn't open yet. Decided the search yelp and found this place. I had my ten year old with me and I called ahead to see if there was a wait time in the only set about ten minutes and they only said about ten minutes on a sunday morning. They couldn't put me on a wait list over the phone, but since the wait was minimal we went over and were seated really quick. French toast ans pancakes run about $15 each and it's $5 additional to add eggs in bacon or sausage. My daughter got the nutella french toast and I got the bananas foster French toast. Both of these were delicious, but that was probably the best bananas foster I've ever had. The caramelized butter sauce and the perfect tenderness of the bananas made it a 10 out of 10 for me. I was telling my daughter that it had been a long time since I had something that tasty for breakfast. We both did the add-on and I ordered my eggs over medium with bacon and she did scrambled with bacon. Everything was cooked perfectly. This is such a charming place! Casual with sweet decorations to give the feeling of a garden. Clean and neat and ample condiments. A lot of different choices on the menu!
