Knocked off one star due to drinks. I'm not in my 20's where I can welcome any drink to get drunk. My pallet is a bit more refined (lol not really), but I can appreciate this bar. The bartender was nice and attentive, the people sitting at the bar were welcoming. You never know what you're going to face especially nowadays but I didn't sense danger at all here. It's a cute bar with a sense of camaraderie. I'll definitely be back to chill and I'll ask for the types of beer they have next time. read more

White Elephant Lounge - Old fashion - Lounges Near Me - Modesto, California

Owner doesn't allow the employee to speak about Jesus won't be back but the bartender was a nice lady

Crappy hole in the wall. Didnt expect much seeing it wasn't the nicest part of town. Bartenders are all wasted and rude. Lots of tweakers. The Bartenders are all old burnt females pretending they are still in their 20's. Won't be back. read more

Bartender Krysta makes the experience, fun and welcoming! She always is attentive make sure everybody is taken care of! Makes it a fun environment on holidays! I have attended a Halloween costume party, Christmas party, Valentine's Day, event! My favorite place to go for drinks and karaoke! read more

Nice atmosphere and old school music. Drinks are generous and reasonably priced. I recommend this place.

So this is THE best legit dive bar in Modesto. Weds with Heather? OMFG the best bar keep ever. I never felt so welcome. Bennie and the Jets? Check. Pool? Check. Darts? Uh... Yes. $3 beer? Duh. Hank? Check. Just don't bet the pool match against Heather loser. See you Weds nights. read more

White Elephant Lounge - Lounges Near Me - Modesto, California

This use to be my favorite bar but after tonight.... Lmao.... I'll never be back. I watched the bartender make my drink incorrectly... Told her I didn't like it.. and was told "that's what you ordered if you don't want it you can leave" followed by snatching the drinks from in front of me.... What??? I'm still in shock. I've never had this kind of service here.... read more

I've been meaning to do this review since I moved here. .... One of the best bartenders in the world works here!!! She's entertaining and has a kind heart. Her name is Jova and she's also as tough as nails. Just when you think she's not paying attention you realize it's you who missed something. No matter the case she handles the lounge like a pro. I feel safe and the drinks are great. People are a very mixed group. The best experience I've ever had in a lounge in the area. Amazing bartenders are the reason. Jova you rock and I hope covid doesn't have you looking for work elsewhere. read more

This place has really improved and the good vibes are a PLUS! No better place for a Sunday Funday - great place to bring a group of friends- the bartenders know how to deliver those dranks! read more

Great place to just hang out shoot some pool relax watch a game and just chill. I recommend this for anyone who just wants to shoot some polar relax. read more

What a nice little bar. They have two pool tables and darts. They also have a cool Dj on Friday nights, and a hot tamale running karaoke on Saturday nights. The Bartenders are very good at checking on the customers to see if they need anything to drink. They also keep an eye on customers to make sure no one is getting out of hand and check people's ID's. They have a dress code and they enforce that also. read more

The bartenders are the best!!! I always feel so welcome when I'm here. Just a great place to be.

Worse place every. Bartender was rude and un inviting. Had not been here for a few months. New bartender was rude & not inviting. We will not be back!!! Will not come back read more

Cool chill vibe DJ on Friday night and Karaoke on Saturday! Good priced drinks and nice bartenders. Always feel welcome and safe. Also there is a chef selling his fresh made to order pizza for $10 on Friday and Saturday nights. read more

Every time I pass through this place I always remember of the ONE N ONLY TIME! I've been at the "lounge" the whole place has a weird musty smell. As soon as u walk in you feel lost, by the way it's set up. The female bartender with a ton of make up on is very unprofessional eating hot wings didn't wash her hands once the whole 30 mins I was there while serving drinks was disgusting. Every word that came out of her mouth while eating greasy hot wings was foul. I wish I could remember her name but anyway! She poured a free drink so some guy sitting at the bar but charged the girl he was with she told him in Spanish! Won't be back read more

Great place to go to, friendly bartenders, pool tournaments on Thursday, DJ on Friday, karaoke on Saturday. Nice selection of cold beer. Great drinks great friendly atmosphere, what do you need! read more

first time was great! Older more respectful tender was awesome! Very friendly and patron oriented. 2nd time Horrible! Bar tender (young goth looking chick) terrible service, and wasn't busy just the regulars(12 people at the most) service was horribly slow. Now.. decided to give it. 3rd try... same goth girl and before we where able to order we left... instead of tending to her custody she instead stopped, ate, and still had us waiting. Horrible never again. White elephant... she needs to go horrible service and in sanitary. read more

Lots of beer specials, bartenders Tina and Lucinda always on top of it with excellent customer service !!!

It's a great place to come have a drink with great bartenders. Awesome service and and patrons

This place has gotten waaaaay ghetto over the last couple years. Friends and I used to be-bop down there every once in a while but lately it's just been a different, younger, ghetto type crowd and not the relaxing "let's sit down and bullshit over a beer type place" every time we go in. Probably wont be returning. Drink prices are reasonable but their beer selections on tap are minimal. read more

After trying so many bars, we came across White elephant lounge. Alyssa is the best bartender. Catered to everything we needed. Honestly we LOVE HER. Cheers to Alyssa being the best!!!! read more

Horrible & dirty...wasnt even busy, it was a wednesday night, bartender ignored me for 20mins untill another customer told her we was waiting. Her friends were there hanging out. She put my beer in like a wine glass that had a nasty film on it too. Soo disgusted!! read more

This place was absolutely fantastic! Jova provided a very welcoming environment and the experience was all the better for it. The drinks were fairly priced and vibe was jumpin' but chill at the same time. I will definitely recommend to friends and plan on frequenting again in the future. Once again, Jova was amazing and hope to get her as my bartender on my next visit! Great experience all the way around! read more

So this place has some big ups and big downs, the ups are the drinks are amazing, priced well and chill music. The big down is the various other clientele, I try to avoid going here if I can because many of the regulars are not very enjoyable, aggressive and at best put on a show when acting like fools, wish there was more security present so I can enjoy my drinks in peace. read more

Best place in town for good drinks and fun times. Big screen TVs with all the games. Some of the best pool players around.

Went here for first time on a Tuesday night, had a pretty fuckin awesome time. Went in again the imediate following Friday, after the superb treatment I experienced during the first visit, and experienced an even more welcoming visit. Great place to have a few beers and listen to some good music. 15/10 would recommend to friends. read more

Lets start with the good. . . the drinks are well priced and tasty(when you are able to get one). Theres a nice back patio area, good music, pool tables and darts. Now lets talk about the bad. . . If your not a regular here you get treated poorly. This bar is very clicky and the type of people who come here enjoy drama. The bartender I believe her name is "Jova" will constantly ignore you and will just tend to her friends with free drinks. Not to mention her and her friends doing cocaine in the back patio and bathroom. Also she is VERY RUDE. The last time I came here I was standing at the bar for 15 mins and even made eye contact with her a couple times just for her to ignore me and give her friends free shots. I eventually just left. I wont ever come back here. read more

Beer is cold. Cues are sort of straight. Three star bar, but five star dive bar. Will definitely go back if I'm feeling like laying low.

Great dive bar. The crowd does look a little rough at times. But overall pretty cool bar that's been there for years. I have to admit that the bartender here that I've seen multiple times ( a cute latina) does very heavy pours and makes them just right. For $5 for a jameson & coke why wouldn't you check this place out? read more

The White Elephant is everything you could want from a neighborhood bar. VERY friendly bartenders that remember your drink of choice and make you feel like family. Several taps of big-brewery beers and lots of bottles, a great place for a shot and a beer. Reasonable prices. Loud jukebox. A couple big-screen TVs. A few pool tables. And, a wide variety of patrons. Yes, it's a little worn inside, but it has the feel of a old neighborhood bar, comfortable! read more

Always a good time at the annual High School Christmas Reunion

I just went in the White Elephant for the first time. I had often drove by it and just passed it by because it doesnt look like much, but one night a couple of my friends suggested we go there and to my surprise I had a great time. The drinks are very inexpensive and tasty the bartender was very cool. We will definately go back its a great alternative to downtown. read more

Good place to get your drink on shoot some pool all while listening to the newest style Juke box.

Who doesn't love the White E....... An afternoon Bud light, don't mind if I do!!!!!!!!

Good selection of draft beers, A ton of specials on all kinds of drinks, some pool tables, jukebox, nice calm crowd. Will come to again

I am a big fan of the White Elephant. Good crowd, good drinks, and the bartenders are excellent! Jova is extremely friendly and goes out of her way to take care of you. I have also had excellent conversations with many of the regulars. I come here over just about any other place because of the people and the bartenders. If you just act like you should then expect to be treated well! read more

Awesome Bartenders, normal working class crowd, Cheap drinks, pool. Fun place to hang out after work. The cutest person in the bar will be the bartender so its not really a meat market unless your into liver worst. But if you just wanna chill with the boys this is a great place. read more

Come here all the time. Fun, mixed crowds, ok music. Always the same RUDE bartender. Jova really needs to go!! Like if u hate the job so much please go ! Why is she always ruining my night out because she's in a bad mood? Always screaming, never organized. Running around like a chicken with the head cut off. Locks the door at 1:20. My friends bought us 2 drinks at 1:27 and jova was trying to tell us to hurry up and get out, trying to argue. Just a vibe killer really. She picks and chooses who she wants to be cool & nice with. If it isn't you, you're in for a long night! She is even so rude that she CHUGGED AND FINISHED this girls beer at the bar because she wanted her to get out. How weird seeing as the girl was a PAYING CUSTOMER. I'm probably just guna stay away until there's a new bartender because it's just not worth my mood getting killed because of whatever personal issues she's having. Thank you for ruining the white elephant, JOVA read more

I put money in the juke box and the bartender just skipped through everything I played!

I love this place but because of an unprofessional bartender, we had to take our business elsewhere. i wish me and my group of friends could go there thursdays without any problem. can't go thursday nights all cuz the thursday night bartender, michele i think, was drunk and tried to pick a fight with my friend cuz the bartender thought my friend was trying to get with her boyfriend. so sad. she couldn't even keep it professional. she ignored us when we tried to order. I'm telling you now, it was dead in there and we were ready to throw some serious cash down to have a good time. i really enjoyed that place. Now we go to the gloworm. read more
