We tried the restaurant (formerly Chef's of New York). Limited menu, but the kitchen was very good at working with my food issue. The decor and serve were awesome. Very nice having live music.

The ramen was not good but the little pot sticker type things were very good and so was the latte with brown sugar. I loved the vibe of the place... cute decor and they host poetry Slam nights with backup music. There were some very talented writers and I would definitely go back for the coffee and entertainment. P.s. there's the lofi bar next door where you can order drinks from and bring into the restaurant too.

Dining area at 5:00 when doors open, looking towards the lounge from our window seat at the corner of J and 14th. Beautiful!

Delicious food and drink in a great space--I highly recommend LoFi. The service and location are top notch, too.

The new remodel is gorgeous. I love that they have old movies and videos playing on a projector and live DJs. Shawna is the best bartender!! She makes drinks that will blow your mind.

Great vibes and great drinks. The happy hour was just a plus. The staff always makes the best recommendations.

A great speakeasy bar. My favorite type of bar. Super chill vibes. Couches and lighting set the mood. And the bartender makes very good classic cocktails. A lot of people suggest taking selfies in the bathroom as well. I guess the bathroom has the best lighting for selfies.

Lo-fi is a great diner in downtown Modesto. Really reminds me of something you'd see in the city. The breakfast burritos are so good,, as is their coffee. The servers are all very nice and accommodating. I'm so glad Modesto has this breakfast and lunch place.

Good Morning! I just realized the time. I've been looking all night for a bday venue and came across your lounge. I'm planning a get together for my 70's theme bday party? What's the max capacity for group reservation? Is cake/food allowed?

Hi can you please give us a phone call to discuss details, thank you! 209)550-9033

    Are you still open?

    Yes

    Do they serve any food?

Simple chexmix kinda stuff, I think maybe nuts?

It's not chaotic karaoke. It's not ego-driven. It's a room where singers are respected, the sound is dialed in, and the energy rises and falls naturally throughout the night. What I appreciate most is how they run the floor. Rotation stays fair. The mic levels are balanced. Adjustments are made when needed. They're paying attention -- and that matters when you care about your performance. I've watched the room swell to 60+ and ease down to a tight circle near closing, and both versions feel good. Big crowd? Electric. Smaller crowd? Intimate and locked in. That's leadership from the booth. And here's the exciting part: Starting Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 8PM, they're opening another karaoke night during the week. That tells you everything. They're not coasting. They're building. Opening a Tuesday gives local singers another space to sharpen their craft, support a venue that supports them, and bring life into a traditionally slower night. That's good for the performers and good for downtown. If you're someone who: * Likes clean sound * Appreciates organized rotations * Wants to sing without drama * Or just wants a solid midweek night out Put Tuesday at 8PM on your calendar. Order a pizza--pepperoni or cheese--they are delicious. Neil and Tristan are doing it the right way -- steady growth, real community, and a stage that feels earned. I'll be back.
