30 bucks for 1 old fashioned.. Vibes are cool but the bill doesn't vibe. Hope managers read these... Feel free to reach out

This place has major Rat Pack vibes and I'm here for it! The walls are covered in classic photos of all the old Hollywood greats and the whole space feels like stepping into a retro lounge with a modern but classy twist! The bartenders were awesome, always super attentive without hovering, and they clearly know their cocktails! I tried a couple, including a perfectly smooth espresso martini that kept me wanting another. They were spot on! We stopped in on a Saturday night and the DJ was absolutely on fire, great energy that kept the place buzzing without being over the top. It ended up being the perfect mix for a fun date night! Classy atmosphere, great drinks, good music, with plenty of space to find a quiet corner to chat! Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a spot that feels a little different from the usual bar scene. read more

Our new favorite Friday Night Hang!!! But honestly!! Would be cool AF anytime! Drinks 100 out of 10! Beautiful cocktails, can even make a non alcoholic cocktail taste like you're not missing out. And when you need a little food, they've got it. The sliders and potato wedges were exactly what we needed! Super fresh, three perfectly grilled sliders, all different, so full of flavor! The wedges with that crispy, curled edge.... soooo good! My date devoured the blackberry cheesecake, which is a special so get it when you can. Friday's bring fun DJs, fun enough that we started our night there, went to our commitment and came back to end our night with more music, great drinks and the most beautiful charcuterie board made by Stephanie who will not only become your friend but take care of you with only the best service of a five star restaurant! We can't wait to make this our Friday regular habit! read more

This was our first time at The Boardroom in Modesto, and it absolutely won't be our last. The space itself is sleek, stylish, and has an amazing vibe from the moment you walk in. Stephanie, the bartender, truly made the experience unforgettable. She made one of the best Old Fashioned I've ever had, and every sauce she added to the food was next-level--seriously to die for. The menu has something for everyone, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. We live about 45 minutes away, but the great service, incredible food, and overall atmosphere make it completely worth the drive. I had to leave a bit early, but they even have a DJ on the weekends, which adds to the fun energy. One tip: I believe they stop serving food around 10 PM, so make sure you arrive early enough to fully enjoy their unique menu. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back! read more

I went on a Friday afternoon to get together with my girlfriends! It was perfect; from the comfy couches to the music and the amazing service (Thank you Stephanie) it was an absolutely fun evening! I am a pescatarian and a very picky eater: I ordered the Shrimp "Bang Bang" lettuce wrap and it was so good! It was so delicious that I didn't get a photo! The drinks were amazing! I had some type of watermelon drink with a waterfall of tajin on the side of the glass and fresh, homemade chamoy on the side (Ask for Steph to make it. She knows wasssup!) She also made a freaking delicious white chocolate espresso martini. I also tried a Peach ricotta dip there...it was heavenly!! read more

If you're looking for a place that absolutely nails the vibe, the drinks, and the food, The Boardroom is it. This bar delivers on every level, and a huge part of that magic comes from Stephanie, who is hands-down one of the best bartenders you'll ever meet. Stephanie doesn't just make drinks, she creates them. Every cocktail is perfectly balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with care and skill. You can tell she knows her craft inside and out, and it shows in every glass she serves. Whether you're ordering a classic or letting her surprise you, you're guaranteed something amazing. And the food? Unreal. Stephanie doesn't just shine behind the bar, she absolutely crushes it in the kitchen too. The in-house sauces she makes are next level, each one packed with bold flavor and clearly made from scratch. They elevate every dish and give the menu a homemade, high-quality feel that's hard to find these days. Honestly, everything on the menu is worth trying, but if nothing else, you have to get the chipotle chicken tacos. They are outstanding and alone are reason enough to come back again and again. Between the great atmosphere, incredible food, and Stephanie's unmatched talent with both drinks and dishes, The Boardroom isn't just a bar, it's an experience. Highly recommended. read more

I've never had such a ridiculous experience at a bar in my life. I showed three different forms of valid ID--and somehow that still wasn't "good enough" for the staff here. Instead of using common sense or professionalism, they decided to make it personal and claimed they "weren't comfortable" serving me. That's not hospitality--that's arrogance. If this is how they treat paying customers who come prepared and follow the law, I can only imagine how they treat everyone else. Save yourself the time, the money, and the embarrassment of dealing with a staff that clearly doesn't know how to do their job. Plenty of other bars nearby actually want your business. If I could leave negative stars I would. read more

My boyfriend pointed out this place after I was looking for nice bars and oh my! I was so elated when we went in! My head immediately went to Lauren Bacall. Her face is simply riveting. I am a huge pre-1970 films lover and this bar was a paradise for me. The drinks were on par with the interior and I plan on returning regularly here. 10/10. read more

If your going to charge a premium on your drinks, at least know how to make them. I was pretty disappointed on the overly bittered manhattan. A drink I sort of expect any upscale bar to be able to make without messing it up, specially on a night with only 5 or 6 people total in the bar. It was a slow night and there was no need to rush out drinks. From my point of view that bartender needs to learn his basics... or at least start tasting his drinks before sending them out. That is what the little black straws are for... from one bartender to another. You should learn what a proper drink should taste like. the second issue here, honestly, it doesn't bother me that much but they do check IDs like they expect every person that comes in to have a fake ID. Guy took my ID, put it under a light, rubbed his thumb over it a few times, looked at it again, gave it a bit of a bend then looked at it again only to hand it back saying they couldn't take damaged IDs lol. I do happen to always carry a second form of ID on me but that was the weird little over a minute I have ever spend with a bartender. He then proceeded to do the same with my second form of ID lol. Needless to say, my overall experience left me with little desire to go back. read more

Umm supposedly open till 12 am on a Wednesday? Not, nobody was there, but a bartender and he shut everything down due to lack of interest

This was my first time to The Boardroom and I was surprisingly impressed. The ambiance, the music, but the best part of all was the food. I tried several things and they were all delicious. Came here for a friend's birthday on a Saturday night. It was pretty chill. We had the entire upstairs. The VIP area also has its own bathroom with its amazing for the ladies in heels. Wouldn't wanna walk up and down the stairs every time you need to go tinkle. The hostess was fast & friendly. The owner David always comes and checks on you as well. A bottle for VIP is $200. Comes with 4 chasers? I'm not sure if they had/ have any specials bc I didn't pay. Ambiance is lounge like with a variety of music. Top hits, old school plays. They had a DJ that night but other nights they play music off a jukebox you can put money in. There is never a cover charge. They're specialty drinks are pretty good too. I always order Sex at the Boardroom. It's a tequila & champagne mixed drink if im not mistaken. I'm pretty much here maybe every other weekend or so. Sometimes on a Tuesday or on a date with my love. read more

The Boardroom - Broccoli Cheddar soup and Egg Salad BLT sandwich was delicious! - Lounges Near Me - Modesto, California

I am regularly on conference calls which originate in the boardroom. I have gone to corporate and had meetings in the boardroom. I had never enjoyed a salad and a manhattan in the boardroom before. When I spotted this place on yelp and saw it was within walking distance of my hotel I immediately planned on heading over for dinner and a cocktail. The site said there was a dress code so I donned my sport coat before heading out. I felt a little silly...there was not another sport coat or suit wearing man within 5 miles of me. When I entered I was one of two customers and I had to wait for the bartender to get done messing around on his cell phone for a minute before I was acknowledged. Not the best foot forward. Service overall ended up being good but distracted. The food was pretty good but the star of this boardroom was the manhattan, well executed (as it should be for about 9 bucks) with the traditional rye whiskey. read more

Great place for lunch! Service was prompt and attentive, he knew my fellow diners and joked with them making the time more enjoyable. We shared the Bruschetta - which was excellent. The tomatoes were quite tasty. They have half sandwich orders that come with a salad, making a perfect lunch - not too much food. I ordered the pesto chicken and it was flavorful and fresh. Definitely going back. read more

For Modesto, this is definitely a solid place for a good drink. But most of this goes to the two bartenders. I wish I could remember your names but your drinks were just too good! The guy was also DJing the iPod-like jukebox, and kept great songs coming (and even made us guess the artists on obscure accoustic/live versions). but the girl (sorry I'm forgetting your name), was priceless. My suave friend was trying to pick up on her all night and she was killing me! priceless. I've never laughed so hard or been so entertained on a Tuesday night. Too bad you don't work more nights (wish I remembered the restaurant you worked at, I bet their customers love you too). If I end up in Modesto again (and I always do) I'm coming back here. No question. read more

Went here with an old classmate who was visiting from LA. We ordered drinks here and they were really watered down. Prices are typical, $7 a drink. The music was blaring and I could hardly hear my conversation. There is a dress code which is nice, but doesn't do too much if 1) I can't get a buzz from the liquid courage and 2) I can't hear people who are trying to talk to me. Clean place with a club vibe and nice decor. This place caters to an older crowd 30+ but is more chic than the Crocodile Lounge. Next time I come here I'll come with the intent on doing more dancing than talking and hopefully get some guys to pay for my drinks since I'd probably get diabetes from the processed sugars before I get drunk. read more

Had business in the area and met a buddy for a few beers. First impression is the place has a clean modern look. I was told they do have live bands on occasion as well. It's a well stocked bar with ample beers on tap and what appeared to be a well stocked liquor cabinet. I was planning to eat with my buddy and his family so I didn't try any food nor can I confirm they have a kitchen. Good place to wet the whistle and watch a game on the numerous TVS. All and all, I would visit again. read more

This place is fair but not top notch. We stop there on a Thursday around 6pm for a drink and a sandwich. All that liquor on the shelf and they have drinks on the menu they can't make. Go figure? First visit was about a week ago, during what appeared to be a slow period--6pm on a Saturday night. Maybe this place gets busy later into the evening? There was only one bartender on duty so service was a bit slow; we were in no hurry so it wasn't a deal breaker by any means. But there were a few disappointments. Firstly, there's not a cocktail list? Really? They have nearly every spirit you could think of--they have chartreuse on hand but no cocktail list? Who are you, mysterious cocktail drinker who loves a drink with chartreuse in it, with the recipe committed to memory? Secondly, The Boardroom's logo has a standard martini glass in it, but they have stemless martini glasses to serve their customers? I know these were very popular glassware a few years ago but as martini glasses, they're rather terrible! Thirdly, while the rest of the interior is way groovy, the generic photos scattered about of the rat park are way tired (it feels like they went to a college poster sale y'all). I'm still curious to give this place another shot when they have live music (and to see if a second shot is all this place needs to become a downtown favorite). read more

The interior is amazingly beautiful, the staff is super nice, but the crowd is disgustingly snobby and uptight. There's a dress code like there's something real classy about Modesto, Ca. On a recent business trip to Modesto I stopped by this place to grab a beer and a bite to eat. The bar has a nice modern and classy feel to it, with vast seating areas, a large bar, multiple televisions, and plenty of libations to choose from. I was greeted by a friendly bartender and offered a drink. While waiting for my Hefeweizen I browsed the the food menu and decided to get the Buffalo Sliders. That's four Buffalo-style diced chicken breast sliders on plain buns with blue cheese crumbles. The sliders were very dry, from the chicken itself to the ratio of bread and even the cheese. It made enjoying them quite difficult and although I picked at the insides out of mere starvation, I mostly concentrated on the beer. The place was not at all busy and the other bartender enjoyed her idle time while openly texting and relaxing. Meanwhile, a commotion broke out outside with some passerbyer who evidently got into a fist fight with his girlfriend. I only learned this after the fact as it was quickly broken up. No police presence was necessary. Deciding to call it a night, I paid my bill, which took an unusually long time to be processed for no reason at all, and headed out. Maybe next time I am around I'll visit for yet another beer. read more

Do not make reservations here and actually expect to rely on them. My husband reserved their "VIP Room" (really just some uncomfortable couches upstairs) three weeks in advance of our night out for my birthday. Three days before the big day they call to cancel on us because their DJ wants to have an entourage in the VIP room. No apology, no offer to comp us anything, pretty much just said they would save us a table but only if we still bought bottle service. Fortunately another local bar was able to accommodate our large group at the last minute, and we ended up shutting that place down and having a great time. A good amount of my guest and I are working professionals in downtown that frequent downtown bars - Boardroom will no longer be one of them. read more

The Boardroom is nice, especially for Modesto. But then again, it's not very difficult to be higher up on the list given the state of some of the other bars/lounges in town. It is more upscale so there is a dress code. As a result, It tends to attract an older and more sophisticated crowd. I don't recommend it if you're looking for someplace a little more wild. Overall, it's a good place to have a chill night and catch up with friends over drinks. read more

Ok..... So I went to The Boardroom. Had a great time. Sat at the bar and Adriana helped me. She is an excellent bartender and makes really good drinks and suggestions. Pros: Nice atmosphere Good Live Music Good Selection of Drinks CLEAN Staff seems friendly Cons: Still smells like carpet... (previous business?) Drinks are a little expensive. $20 for a bottle of Chimay Blue Label. NO HENNESSY!!! I will forgive the expensive drinks as long as I can get Hennessy. The Boardroom is my favorite night spot in Modesto. The service and staff are wonderful and attentive. The modern decor really accentuates the trendy feel and vibe of the bar. I'm not a fan per say of live music, but the music at the Boardroom is not too loud or distracting. If anything it adds to the ambiance of the bar. It has an eclectic mix of people, ranging from young professionals to established businessmen. The only place I'd go in downtown Modesto. read more

Never going here again. I witnessed security choking a man as he was calmly leaving. They beat him up pretty bad. Security also pushed me and others after we told them to stop.
