You don't necessarily have to get one of everything, so if you really like the pot stickers, for example, you can double up on those and substitute something else. Everything we had was really good! I also loved the presentation. It came out on a spinning tray with a little warmer in the middle, which was such a cool touch and really added to the tiki-bar experience. Since I'm not a big drinker, I went with a couple of mocktails. Sadly, I don't remember the names or flavors , but I do remember they were AMAZING! Even the fresh pineapple on the rim was good. We also ordered the togarashi fries, and those were really good too! Just watch out for those jalapeños because they had a little kick to them! The dipping sauce that came with the fries was really good as well. My only setback was the lighting. I know a tiki bar is supposed to have a dark atmosphere, but it was so dark that we had a hard time reading the menu and had to use the flashlights on our phones. We definitely weren't the only people doing it either. One last thing I have to mention, the bathroom was REALLY clean! I always appreciate that. Overall, I had a great experience. We had barely sat down and had not even had a chance to look at the menu when an employee approached us and told me that "the law" required my service dog to stay on the floor underneath the table. I explained that he is a very small service dog trained to respond to symptoms related to my disability and needs to remain close to me. He was on my lap, not on the restaurant's furniture or table. Instead of listening to my explanation, another employee came over with her phone already in hand to show us what she believed the law said. Both employees stood at our table repeatedly arguing with us about where my service dog was legally required to be. One employee even brought up having a quadriplegic family member with a service dog as justification for why she knew the rules. Every disability and service animal is different, and I found that comparison unnecessary and dismissive of what I was explaining about my own needs. The entire interaction made me feel singled out and embarrassed in front of other customers. Eventually, because the situation had become so uncomfortable, we had a family member take my service dog to our car and stay with him just to end the confrontation. That meant I was separated from the service animal specifically trained to assist me. Even after we agreed to remove him, the employees continued lecturing us. Afterward, we reviewed the U.S. Department of Justice's ADA guidance ourselves. The guidance states that generally a service dog must stay on the floor or the person may carry the dog, and it even provides an example involving a small service dog that needs to remain close to its handler to perform its disability-related work. I was never asking for my dog to sit on restaurant furniture or be placed on the table. What bothered me most was not simply being approached about a service animal, it was how the entire situation was handled. I should not have been made to feel like I had to publicly defend my disability-related need for my service dog just to sit down and have dinner. I hope management takes this experience seriously, reviews its service-animal policy, and provides employees with appropriate ADA training. Customers with disabilities and their service animals deserve to be treated respectfully and discreetly.
