We really enjoyed eating dinner and watching the sunset at Wilfred's. By the name, it's hard to guess what food they sell since my aunt remembered a Hawaiian/island food restaurant but we had trouble finding it just based on the name. Thankfully I walked to see the water and found it right on the end of the bridge! The service was attentive and the food came out quick. We all finished our plates and were pleased with the reasonable pricing and clean flavors. We had no reservations but were still seated which we appreciated! We would come back and I enjoyed my rum sour!

Nice location, but prices are higher than usual for what you get. The atmosphere was cute and different, but service was bad. The food was okay, but the best part was the location and decor. Definitely try the spam fries cute display and very tasty.

Loooove this place for the decor and drinks! I'm a sucker for island themed places, they're just so fun and festive! How could you not have a good time! Love their Ube drink, so pretty and sweet! I like my cocktails icy and sweet without the bitterness of the alqi. We really liked the pork sliders, perfect flavors and moist. Coconut shrimp, sweet potato fries, fried pickles were good too. I'd skip the spam sticks though. Service is always super friendly. Love their location too, right along the river.

    Cute drinks!

One of the best tiki bars, the rooftop is beautiful atmosphere at night. The drinks were amazing, super refreshing and lovely. Can't wait to come back!

Great tropical drinks with a commanding view of the Napa river. Add to that a highly friendly staff, a variety of "tiki-esque" food and limited edition mugs (if you're into that) and there's even more reason to go...

The speciality here is the drinks - they're deliciously depicted on their menu with a list of ingredients inside. We came here for dinner without a reservation and it was no problem getting a table inside the tiki Hawaiian style lounge. We ordered the Kailua sliders, katsu, katsu sando, and poke bowl. All the food came out quickly, and the portions were quite generous! I still think the drinks might be better than the food, but the vacation vibes were immaculate.

I loved Wilfred's when it first opened, but lately it hasn't been as consistent. The tiki drinks are still creative, though many lean too sweet, and the service can be hit-or-miss. The decor and riverfront patio are still highlights, but for the price, the overall experience doesn't quite match what it used to be. They also updated their Wilfred's Wednesday promo that requires you to buy an entree to receive the discount.

We had a great time on a Friday night at Wilfred's! We love tiki bars and Wilfred's did not disappoint. We all got specialty cocktails, I enjoyed my Wilfred's flora. My husband and I shared and order of spam musubi and chicken katsu. Both were delicious and hit all the right notes, except maybe the sauce for the katsu. It's not the traditional sauce, more of a not spicy mayo, which was fine. Mac salad had their twist on it and was yummy. We look forward to coming back when we come to Napa again. Oh we asked the hostess to take our group pic and she was so nice. Took us upstairs to get the best backdrop, and took a bunch! we had no idea there was a second floor and will ask to sit up there next time to get an even better view.

    Even the bathroom is themed!

Very cute place, Hawaiian theme, they even have a screen with footage of Hawaiian beaches. The food was great! And service was great! The view of the river is beautiful, and it's centrally located, with everything within walking distance. It would make a great spot for date night, or girls night out!

If you are a Tikiphile, I would avoid this place like the plague. Tonight was an all-time low. The bar is all open to the outside now and super bright. The music is basically yacht rock. Serious Margaritaville vibes. The bartenders literally do not talk to you unless it's an order. They are super aloof. And this has been written about. Drinks are not bad. But why would anyone want to drink them under 100 watt bulbs and sunlight streaming in at 7:30PM? It's basically not a tiki bar. I guess this vibe is what tourists want. If you have to tick it off your list, go at your own risk!

Wilfred's is certainly one of those places that feels like a tourist trap, and it may be. However, we enjoyed some drinks and an appetizer in their amazing atmosphere and beautiful patio located right on Napa river in downtown Napa. After a bit of a rough start waiting for someone to take our order, we ordered some cocktails and an appetizer. The initial ordering process took about 10-15 minutes, but after ordering the food and drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time. Both drinks were boozy and worth the somewhat hefty price tag. The decor here is superb. Truly feels like a tropical island restaurant, though a bit cliche. They also offer many souvenirs such as tiki cups they serve many of their cocktails in. The cocktail list is extensive! Plenty of drink choices for everyone. The fried plantains were the only food option we got during this visit, but they were very tasty. I would recommend a tiny bit more salt. Wilfred's is a fun place to grab a drink and a snack and has a truly one of a kind atmosphere that you won't find anywhere else in Napa.

Ask the Community - Wilfred's Lounge

Are there branded tiki mugs sold with Wilfred's Lounge on them?

I own 3, the rum barrel, coconut, and Woody's. They all have "Wilfreds" on them. They have a variety of others which I believe say "Wilfreds" on the back. They should have them posted for sale on their website which for you to check out the pictures.

Can my little chihuahua join us?

I think it's possible since they have some outdoor dining! I suggest calling Wilfred's to find out for sure.

Is there a happy hour menu?

Aloha, we believe every hour is happy hour at Wilfred's Lounge, but Wilfred's Wednesday is a great day to visit and pick up a first edition hand-crafted mug, which may include special pricing on the cocktail. (So, Wednesday is your best bet!)

Is there outdoor heated seating? Are there any gluten free options?

Yes. They have outdoor seating on the first and second floor. The second floor does not have service at this time as they are looking to hire additional staff to support. Not sure of the gluten free options.

Is the Coconut Shrimp from frozen or made fresh?

With a wasabi and fennel infused vodka, it was too unique not to be curious about. Upon arriving and looking over the menu, SEVERAL cocktails stood out to me as intriguing to try. I started with the Wabi Sabi which was as interesting as it sounded. While I didn't pick up on fennel, you do pick up on the wasabi, but in the most subtle of ways. Think maybe lime/ginger sparkling water with just a hint of spice. Refreshing and different for sure. I also tried the Mucha Lucha w/ cilantro infused Siete Leguas Blanco, chorizo infused mezcal and cubes made of hot sauce that make the drink have a bit more of a kick as you allow them to melt. I did the HH chips and guac which was also accompanied with a tasty Chipotle sauce. Damn good actually. It'd be excellent served in a variety of ways. The deviled eggs aren't going to blow your mind, but I like that you get 4 different ones- and simply because I love eggs, I'd order them again. (They just wouldn't be a dish that brings me back). The bartender was great- helpful and attentive, even as more people began to filter in for an early afternoon. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Napa to check out some other menu options.

As soon as we approached the venue, there was a long line of people waiting to get inside. We arrived a bit later (around 8pm), and the crowd had already started to fill the venue. Mind you, it's a decent sized venue but not a massive space -- enough to accommodate at minimum 100 and likely max of 200 while still staying within code. There were several people coming in and out of the door, where the GM and bouncer for the night , appeared extremely stressed due to the amount of people in line and inside. A woman, who happened to be the wife of the DJ, stepped out to make a phone call and when she attempted to get back inside, proceeded to get yelled at by the bouncer saying she needed to go to the back of the line and wait like everyone else. The woman attempted to tell the bouncer her husband, who was the guest DJ for the night and is a historical, world renowned DJ (again using big names to draw crowds, and appropriating vinyl culture, but not respecting the very people in attendance), needed to tell him she'd be outside and would sit in the car. The GM started to yell and disrespect the DJs wife, and she ended up staying outside. Apparently this GM and venue are not used to larger crowds, and she essentially cracked under pressure. She went on to tell us the capacity was 67, and that they "were already at 200", which is a lie because there was a ton of space between people inside the venue (we have photos to prove it). She kept yelling and pushing people back. Girlfriend, this was not a Vegas club night. This crowd is 40+ (age) crowd, so it's not like people were out of control and acting debaucherous -- everyone was respecting the rules. If you couldn't handle the crowd, which btw you agreed prior to the 80-100 people expected for the party, then why was it such a hassle for your venue to handle the capacity. You knew a larger crowd was expected that night, it's your responsibility as a business owner to adequately staff the bar, door, etc. Yes; we needed to respect the door and the rules -- and everyone did. I won't get into further detail, but a physical altercation took place after the woman tried to return a second time (to again get her husband and tell him what was going on given she was being harassed at the door), putting hands on her in the process. Just completely out of line. Overall, this venue wants to appropriate the music and DJ culture, yet when the actual music and DJ community show up, there is no respect. Let alone for loyal patrons who have frequented your business and brought tons of revenue to the bar that night (which btw was extremely slow). Don't fall for the dog and pony show here. Go somewhere else that touts respects for their patrons, and for all walks of life -- not just the pretentious kind.

Upon entry and seeing people dressed very relaxed, my assumption was curved. The inside was relatively small, we sat at small table in the back near the "kitchen" food pick-up area is the best way to describe it. Our waiter was okay, provided us the nightly specials and acknowledged our Anniversary. Nothing beyond the standard greeting. Drinks: very basic in my opinion; subjective I get it. Me and my guests were not wow'd. We had to ask for additional supplements for the Lavender Lemon Drop and Georgia Peach or something Peach with bourbon, peach puree, etc. Appetizers: PrimeRib Sliders, Fried Coconut Prawns and Lobster Bisque. Again taste is subjective, being from the south, flavors and richness is a MUST. I can't say we got that. Our guest throughly enjoyed the prawns and said the sauce was GREAT. I'm use to a VERY rich, cozy Lobster bisque and this missed the mark, and there was barely any lobster. Entrees: 8 oz Filet Mignon, Prime Rib, Crab enchiladas and Scallops. Filet was requested as medium, came out almost done, no pink in sight. While my guest was disappointed, they didn't feel like the battle of waiting for it to be corrected, disappointing. Prime Rib, was okay. The guest barely finished it. Pan Roasted Maine Scallops, were okay, cooked fine. Meal ended once a gnat landed on the crisp crackers. Crab Enchiladas: A very unique dish. Plentiful for sure; taste basic. Essentially a taco with all the fixings with crab sprinkled in minus a shell. No dessert for us; however, we were offered a cupcake with a candle for our anniversary. While this review is my/our experience, the restaurant missed the mark with this basic, dry store bought cupcake. I refuse to believe this was made in house. Perhaps one of the menu dessert options would have been better. We'll never know. My expectations were not met. Hope yours is.
