This place is a new favorite of mine. I think as I go to more and more Tiki Bars, I really gravitate to the ones that have more unique drinks. I make drinks at home. I've had a traditional Mai Tai a million of times. Do you have Tiki Drinks that are going to make me want to drive 45 minutes to you? On top of that, is your food worth it? I'm happy to say that the answer to both of these questions are yes. I've gone here 3 times within the last two weeks and one item that is a constant order is the Orange Chicken. Nowadays I think people are used to the classic super sweet Panda Express style Orange Chicken that you'll also see occasionally at your local Chinese food restaurant. Wilfred's Orange Chicken definitely is sweet but its not as sweet as what I used to and I'm not mad about it. There's a lot of depth with the sauce. I don't know if they are just putting more soy sauce or dark soy sauce...Maybe it's Oyster/Fish sauce? Theres definitely some kind of extra Umami going on. An added plus is that it pair perfectly with the tanginess of the Pineapple Fried Rice. For drinks my favorites have been the Manta Ray and the Sanfroyosko. The reason being is just because these have been the more unique ones that I've been really enjoying. The Manta Ray is more tropical than one might think. However it's tropical with a bit of funk. The combination of the Gin, Falernum, and Sauv Blanc Syrup really add to the complexity. The other drink I really like is the Sanfroyosko. If you are a Mai Tai lover, this is the one to try. The substitution of the typical tums with the Shochu, Sake and Pisco add even more of a Wine and floral flavor profile to the drink. On top of that the Sesame Orgeat gives and even more nuttier flavor than normal. But despite all these flavors going on, it still kinda tastes like a Mai Tai. The service has always been amazing. Every person who has served us has served us with a smile. But even despite how friendly they are, there still remains this sense of professionalism with their interactions. They check in at the perfect times. They ask how we are enjoying everything and share their favorite things to drink/eat. With the amazing tiki decor and island music, you really do feel like you are on an Island anytime you eat here. read more

Napa has plenty of wine but, Wilfred's Lounge has the rum, tiki bar vibes, river views, tropical music and island inspired cocktails and cuisine. ‍ I dig the over the top tiki cocktails, whimsical decor, dog-friendly front patio and rooftop deck bar with river views. The Kalua Pork Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls, Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl and the Chicken Teriyaki Poke Bowl were winners. Food: was amazing! Everything we ordered was good. To start we ordered the Pupu Sampler Platter which had chicken wings, coconut shrimp, smoked salmon Rangoon and veggie pot stickers. Between the two of us we finished everything! It was that good! For our main entree we got Creamy Salmon Poke Bowl and Tofu Poke bowl and they were both delicious. Each one had different toppings. For drinks, we had Uma Ube and Ube Bae Baby. They were the same drink except the Uma Ube had alcohol. And let me tell you I will get that drink again. It was nice and strong. Service: the staff were very nice. We came as they were getting ready to open so there was no line. Once we ordered the food and drinks came right away. Ambiance: I love the ambiance. Love the decor. We recently took a trip to napa valley and after wine tasting in the morning, we decided to check out the river front. Wilfred's is located right on the river and has two stories. We went to the bar and ordered some cocktails then took them upstairs to the patio. Felt like being at a disneyland resort restaurant with how decorated the place is. Very hawaii/tiki lounge. We hosted our wedding welcome party at Wilfred's Lounge for about 130 guests, and it was the perfect venue! Lauren Taylor and the team were fantastic to work with throughout the planning process, making everything easy from helping us choose the menu to answering all of our questions. Our guests raved about the food, drinks, and the venue itself. The rooftop deck was such a fun space, and the lower level worked perfectly for our live musician. After the music ended, we were able to seamlessly switch to our own playlist through the venue's speakers, which kept the party going. The pricing was very reasonable for a private event, and the staff was friendly and attentive all night. I've been to Wilfred's Lounge a few times but this time I decided to try the food. Their drinks are amazing because they're not too sweet and they're made with premium ingredients. It's a tiki bar type of lounge which is always fun! Located in the heart of downtown Napa right along the river, the views are definitely worth it and no matter if you're on the rooftop, out on the porch or inside you'll have a great atmosphere. I almost just wanted to have drinks and appetizers but then our waitress recommended the Loco Moco which is only served on Sundays. It did not disappoint. 10/10. The quality of the meat, the mushroom gravy along with the runny egg on top of rice was perfect. We also tried the pineapple fried rice which surprised me because I'm not a big fan of fruit in rice but it totally worked. They do not skimp on flavor, each bite made me want more. While most people go to Napa for wine (which I did as well) I'll also try to find a good tiki bar anytime I go somewhere new. Ended up getting two cocktails here which both of them tasted great and both of my buddy's were very good too. They offer indoor and outdoor seating with a roof top section overlooking the river two which was very nice. They do have a server running around upstairs to grab you drinks and food which was very conviennent and she was very friendly. Great tiki theme on the main level. Popped in for lunch on a Saturday not too long after they opened for the day and was able to grab two seats at the bar. The place was exactly what you'd expect for a tiki inspired restaurant and we loved the decor and atmosphere. The bartender was very friendly and helped me pick the perfect drink l. I ended up having two because they were so good. The food was also very good. We only had a few appetizers (wings and natsubi) but the flavor was spectacular and we were very happy with our choices. By the name, it's hard to guess what food they sell since my aunt remembered a Hawaiian/island food restaurant but we had trouble finding it just based on the name. However, we enjoyed some drinks and an appetizer in their amazing atmosphere and beautiful patio located right on Napa river in downtown Napa. After a bit of a rough start waiting for someone to take our order, we ordered some cocktails and an appetizer. The initial ordering process took about 10-15 minutes, but after ordering the food and drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time. Both drinks were boozy and worth the somewhat hefty price tag. The decor here is superb. Truly feels like a tropical island restaurant, though a bit cliche. They also offer many souvenirs such as tiki cups they serve many of their cocktails in. The cocktail list is extensive! Plenty of drink choices for everyone. The fried plantains were the only food option we got during this visit, but they were very tasty. I would recommend a tiny bit more salt. Wilfred's is a fun place to grab a drink and a snack and has a truly one of a kind atmosphere that you won't find anywhere else in Napa. read more

I would give Wilfreds a solid 3.5. We stopped in for their happy hour offerings to escape a hot afternoon. The place was relatively empty, but we were greeted immediately and allowed to sit wherever we wanted. Our service was kind, friendly, and quick. We ordered a round of drinks and some appetizers. Everything came out quickly and was tasty! The tiki drinks we got were not too sweet, which is always nice to see. The appetizers were nice, nothing crazy over the top amazing but a nice accompaniment to our drinks. My boyfriend and I came here prior to dinner for a drink or two. We had no idea it was happy hour. Our first round of drinks were okay, we definitely enjoyed the second round more. We had the punch the first round and I had the Tai One On the second round, while he had the Grinchmas. The Grinchmas tasted just like mint chip ice cream. So if you like mint chip, you'll like this. If you don't, order something else. I really liked the Tai One On as it reminded me of a rum old fashioned. We also had some bites from the happy hour menu including the chicken wings (3) and fried pickle spears (6). Both were $9 dollars and tasty. But if you're looking for bang for your buck, I would do the pickles rather than the wings. The decorations in the bar area are nice. I'm definitely used to a more dark tiki bar, this once was light and airy. The bartenders were very nice and chatted us up. They're also pretty knowledgeable of the spirits they have on hand there. The decor here is great, a nice mix between a restaurant and a tiki bar. The food was delicious and the portions were large, however I was a little disappointed by the quality of the drinks. The service was also a bit awkward, to be fair we did come in on a slow, rainy day but the bartender didn't talk to us at all. I didn't necessarily want to get chatted up, but it was weird being the only people in the restaurant sitting at the bar and them not exchanging any words or even looking at us aside from us ordering. I visit Napa Valley once a year and we always end our trip with Wilfred's. The drinks are so delicious! We were fortunate enough to visit in time to participate in their main tai competition. We purchased 4 different mai tais. All so flavorful. The views are magnificent from the 2nd floor (first come, first serve). Service is good!
