    Tiki vibes

This bar has kick-ass playlists, great bartenders, excellent drinks and overall fantastic vibes. I'm still unsure how a place this cool found its way to Orinda, but I'm very glad it did. Planning on becoming a regular.

This tiny tiki bar is so awesome!! Right next to the movie theater so a movie then drinks at this place are a great date night idea. Love the decor and the drinks were amazing

    Fun tiki atmosphere! Nice drinks

Great place to visit after the Orinda theater or dinner at Casa Orinda Steakhouse. Good variety of tropical drinks. Fun decor. The downside would be the fact that we've been here for 20+ minutes and still haven't gotten our drinks. And there are empty seats. Bummer, the bartender admitted he forgot the drinks for our party of four. And we had already paid! UPDATE: We did finally get our drinks and they were good. I got the Saturn which was gin based and my boyfriend got the Mai Tai. As we were leaving the bartender apologized again and offered to comp our drinks but my boyfriend politely declined.

This is a fully legit tiki bar, and worth traveling to for any tiki fanatic in the East Bay. Two of us sampled four the drinks off their menu and one was a winner. Their classic Matai was done just as it should be: with plenty of fresh momt, well balanced, and rich use of orgeat. The jungle bird was delicious, and presented with just the right amount of tiki kitch. Their version of a grog was richly spaced and served with an orchid flower on top. And finally we had a non-rum drink that combined rye, scotch, import into a sort of tiki old-fashioned. Also great ambience and music. Definitely seated my expectations

This is a fun new place in Orinda! It's right next to the Orinda theater. The inside is small but they have done a great job on the decorations and it is a fun little place to hideout and step away for a little bit. All the cocktails my mom and sister and I got were delicious and they put a lot of fun garnishes in them. Service was friendly. We will be back

Cozy tiki bar nestled next to the theatre in Orinda. Drinks are very strong, which is appreciated since some bars can be stingy with their pours. My favorite was the zombie, but I'm looking forward to trying a few other drinks from their menu on my next visit.

Great addition to Orinda! Boo Loo Lounge is a tiki bar that just soft opened. There's not even a sign yet. It's just to the side of the Orinda Theatre, occupying the spot that the old Cine Cuvee wine bar used to occupy. Apparently the bar has been under renovation for about 1.5 years, through the latter part of COVID, and is just now getting ready to open. They're still waiting on the ingredients for their full menu but they have a fun and tasty more limited menu for now. We tried a Ruby Daquiri which was a daquiri with port. A little sweet and quite strong. Fun tiki decoration inside the lounge and very friendly staff. I'm looking forward to bringing friends and family back here! Finally a fun cocktail bar in Orinda!

    Amazing cocktail

Really good vibes and great service ! Came on my anniversary and had a lot of fun and was a special time

    Grog, Singapore lady

UPDATE: went back and had a great experience with Maxton behind the stick. My wife got the Singapore Lady and really liked it; I got the Grog and thought it was one of the most complexly layered drinks I've ever had! Be warned that it's very dry, but that's on purpose so I can't fault it. So glad to have a legit tiki bar in Lamorinda. Go check them out. You'll have a great time as long as one of their primary bartenders is working that night. Oh, and their Zombie is one of the best in California.

Rum barrel - strong! A night ender.

Bri took care of us on a Sunday afternoon. Incredible drinks and service. Only bar in the area that uses quality ingredients. The navy grog is 10/10, very complex and layered.

Said open Sundays. But they aren't. Hours updated on Yelp today but says open on their own website, Google maps, etc. No tiki for me

If you want to have dinner while enjoying the band, there will be a cover charge of $20 per person. The band performs on a floating platform on a former swimming pool . There's an artificial rain intermittently. Great music. Food is pricey. We got poke with thin and fresh plantain chips. The raw fish is fresh too. Ver good. The drinks here is amazing and beautifully presented. The menu describes the alcohol content and the level of sweetness. Great feature to help you to make your selection. They successfully create a Polynesian ambiance inside and outside the restaurant. Our waitress was very nice and professional.

Someone in my friend group chose this spot for a girls' night out. I was not thrilled by the…read moreprospect but went along with it because the rest of the group was set on going here. There's not a cover charge to enter, but if you sit at a table and "dine in", a $20 per person entertainment fee is added to the final check. I was really annoyed by this, especially because I didn't order anything since I thought we were bar hopping. In the end, the math didn't make any sense. I calculated percentages on the final receipt to determine what I owed the person who paid the check. The gratuity (15%) only applied to the food and cocktails my friends purchased, but tax was added to the entertainment fee ($100 for my group of 5) and just the food but not alcohol. In the end, I paid my friend $22 for the space I took up at our table. Music was extremely loud and not very good when I first entered but improved slightly when the live band performed on the boat. Overall, this place was not the vibe. It felt touristy, not surprising since it's located in a hotel. I can see how it could appeal to certain audiences, but still, I find it absurd to charge guests just to sit at a table with their friends. If the venue wants to recover the costs of providing the live entertainment, then they should set expectations up front by either charging cover at the door or making tickets available to purchase in advance because essentially, I could've entered separately from my friends, ordered a drink at the bar, and not paid cover, but what's the fun in that.
