We recently chose Kaia's for a long overdue reunion and it was the ideal setting. We felt like we were in Hawaii. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the outdoor patio was beautiful especially in the evening. The owners and staff were a delight to work with and made our event very memorable. The food was excellent, we had endless appetizers such as Kalua Pork tacos and fish tacos that were amazingly delicious, sliders, Tiki chicken bites and more. Their tropical drinks were delicious. My favorite was their Coconut Mocha their version of an Espresso tini. Sooooo delicious! What made the nite special was how the venue complemented the occasion. It felt intimate enough for heartfelt catching up but spacious enough that we didn't feel cramped. When it was time for our event to end, no one wanted to leave it was truly a mini paradise for our group and event! Aloha!
4.5/ service. 5/5 ambiance. 4/5 food First off you come here for the tiki experience. Hawaiian music playing and Mike making great drinks. What more could one want?
Met up with a couple friends for some snacks and drinks at Kaia's on a Tuesday night. It was really warm so we opt'd for indoor seating, but would def love to check out outdoor seating at some point if I return. Beautiful spot and great vibes as well. We had no issue getting a table without a reservation. We each got a drink and shared some appetizers. One of my go to tiki bar drinks is the Painkiller (rum, pineapple, orange, coconut, cinnamon) and that didn't disappoint. A friend got their Zombie after our server's recommendation that said Zombie and Painkiller were their stronger drinks. The Zombie had rum, cachaca, oftd, lime juice, passion fruit, cinnamon, and falernum. He enjoyed that one. Our other friend got the Ohanapod Mai Tai - coconut rum, coruba rum, orange, lime, pineapple, topped with honey/lilikoi/egg white foam and said that was great a as well. The appetizers we tried were - Pupu Platter - comes with lil spam musibi, spring rolls, coconut shrimp, teriyaki beef skewers, pickled veggies, and a couple dipping sauces. The spam musubi and the skewers were really good. The veggie spring rolls were alright, and the coconut shrimp was good with the sauces. Kalua Pork Nachos - with kalua pork, crispy taro chips, cheese, lomi tomatoes, guacamole, picked jalapeño, cilantro cream sauce, etc. Loved how the chips were taro chips. Pretty good, and went well with our drinks.
My husband and I walked in on a Friday evening for dinner. They had live music and it was a nice day out so we sat outside. Despite the place being a little busy, we were seated right away. The vibe and service were great, but the food was unfortunately disappointing. The fish in both dishes were overcooked. The crusted fish didn't have any textures and flavors from the crusted part and the vegetables on the side were overcooked and under-seasoned as well. I think Pacific Catch does a better job if you're looking for a restaurant with Hawaiian vibes.

There were small Palm like trees scattered around which were big enough to interrupt the view of traffic on Hartz and the driveway. We had pulled pork nachos and the larger poke bowl. All good. The pomegranate and juice soda was a nice beginning. Give them Kaia's a try.
The vibe is very cool, little piece of Hawaiian tiki bar in Danville. The staff was very nice and quick to get us seated, take our order and get our drinks and food to us. Once we had the food they were often checking in on us and refilling water and drinks. The drinks were very good, the mai tai and chi chi were exactly what was needed! Now the food... very disappointed. The ohana beef stew tasted very bland, and didn't have much of a Hawaiian flavor or vibe, felt like it could have been an Irish stew with the chunks of beef and veggies in a dark brown sauce. The ramen was very salty, and it didn't have much going for it either. The teriyaki chicken we added onto it was fine, but the flavor got lost once it went into the broth. I'm used to getting mac salad at a Hawaiian place so I was interested and excited to try a potato salad and cole slaw. The potato salad had a lot of flavor, but it did seem a little salty. The coleslaw might have been the best thing I ate there ... the pineapple chunks in it were very refreshing. I'd come back for a drink, and maybe an appetizer but I don't think I'd get an entree again.
Stop by with my family for lunch. The poke was very delicious and refreshing. The fish was not fishy at all. The plate was very well balanced. I was so focused on enjoying my bowl I forgot to take picture. The service was also superbe. I will definitely come back!
We gave Kaia's a try and it was reminiscent of Duke's in Hawaii. Hawaiian vibes if you are missing Hawaii. We ordered the loco moco, mix plate with chicken katsu, 2 cocktails, and spam masubi to go. Overall the food was good, but nothing mind blowing or memorable that would make me come back for more. Service was good. If in the neighborhood we would come back again but nothing exceptional stands out for me.

All the service staff was friendly and took great care of us! The ambiance of the outdoor patio was upscale but lowkey. Perfect place for brunch in a beautiful day! To drink, we had passionfruit mimosas, the maitai (the non-classic one), the chi chi, and the painless (mocktail). All were delicious and beautifully presented. To eat, we shared the Spam musubi. Another lovely presentation! The ratio of Spam to rice to seaweed was balanced and came with a tasty sauce drizzled overtop and a different one on the side. For brunch entrees, we had the ube waffles (one as is and one with chicken katsu), the kalua pork breakfast sandwich? And the poke bowl. The ube waffles are unique and delicious! They are topped with whipped cream, ube syrup, and a fresh fruit salsa; all complemented the waffles well. The chicken katsu was perfectly coated in panko and fried well. The poke was refreshing and came with crunchy pickled vegetables, edamame, and avocado; which was a healthy and tasty brunch dish! The Kalua pork breakfast sandwich was hearty and savory, and the potato salad completed the plate nicely. We finished our meal with the Hula pie. Must get, even if you don't have room! If you're looking for a great brunch spot with delicious island inspired food and a lovely patio (dog-friendly), make sure to check out Kaia's!
My husband and I were in the area waiting for our table at crumbs down the street to open up. We stopped by at this restaurant to have a couple of drinks at the bar. The drinks we got were amazing! Mine had a macadamia and coconut base. And his was a more of a juice base. We loved our drinks and will be back to try food next time. The ambiance was giving Hawaii vibes! The bartender was also great!
Kaia's is a Hawaiian inspired restaurant located at the corner of Hartz and Church in downtown Danville, next to the famed Bridges Restaurant and Bar. I checked out this spot with my pal George F. on 07/15/2025. We met up at 11:30am and the staff was busy getting ready for lunch service. Even though we were their first customers, it still took them a few minutes to seat us at a table in the patio area. The patio area was beautiful. It was nicely shaded with lots of green plants. It wasn't long before the patio started to fill up, and we were literally surrounded by women. Kudos to George for that observation. Their menu featured a nice variety of island inspired dishes. After some perusing, George opted for the Loco-Moco with hamburger while I went the Fresh Catch Tacos. We later got the Hula Pie for dessert. The Fresh Catch Tacos were street-sized and made with rockfish. Frankly, they were OK at best. The fish was quite mild in taste, and it really needed the pineapple salsa to give it some life. The fries were a disappointment. They were limp and salty. The Hula Pie was excellent! The combination of macadamia ice cream, toasted coconut, and chocolate simply worked. You must get it if you come here. Service we received was good. Our server was attentive and funny. I definitely felt the aloha from him. Overall, the food here was three stars to me, but the ambiance and service deserved the fourth one. I may return. BONUS MATERIAL: - Street parking only.

Aloha! This is my new Happy Place Happy Hour! 3:00-6:00 Monday-Friday. Parking was easy! They have their own lot and I saw others coming from the Town Hall Theater Parking. We had a beautiful seat on the patio. I loved all the plants and island photos on the tv's. It made you remember the days on the island. Sergei was our waiter and he was wonderful. He kept our table full! My favorite was the Hawaiian Nacho's and the Mai Tai. I had lilikoi foam similar to the Monkey Pod in Hawaii. Yum! I felt all the food was VERY delicious, visually appetizing, and reasonably priced. Mahalo read more
This restaurant is like you are legitimately stepping into maui!!! The decor, the music, the plants are all so fun. I almost booked a flight to Hawaii after coming here!! Service was fast and friendly. We ordered the spring roll to start and they were crispy and delicious. I ordered the luau salad with tofu, my Mom got the Maui salad and my husband got the island chopped salad with chicken katsu. All the salads were delicious! My salad was so fresh and crisp and the hot mustard dressing was incredible. The tofu was perfectly seasoned and lightly fried. My sister got the chicken katsu plate with rice and potato salad. She said it was super good, and loved the rich katsu sauce. Highly recommend this spot! read more

Since this place opened I've always wanted to try it. Especially being born and raised in Hawaii I was intrigued by their menu. My husband and I came on a Monday during happy hour and it wasn't busy at all. They have a small parking lot in the back and there's additional parking in the street or a block down. We were immediately greeted and seated on the patio. Indoors was nicely decorated but it was too nice of a day to pass up from sitting outside. Service was great. We ordered mainly off the happy hour menu. I got the chichi drink which was ok, a little too much coconut for me. We also got the fish tacos which was probably best thing we got off the menu. In addition to the island fries (flavorful and good), huli huli chicken sliders (these were disappointing, very far from huli huli chicken), and the poke crisp (ahi was fresh but the lilikoi chili water was not great and tasted like vinaigrette). Overall their happy hour prices weren't a great deal compared to regular-priced items.! Would love to come back on the weekend to try out their brunch menu items. read more

I was so excited to try this place because I love a Hawaiian restaurant. What in the actual F is going on with the food! Please have the chef call me immediately. The miso ramen tasted like refrigerated or frozen Ramen that you buy from Costco or a grocery store. The ohana beef stew tasted like the basic beef stew that I make at home myself. The menu says the beef stew is supposed to have Hawaiian broth and there's nothing Hawaiian about their beef stew. The potato salad is very salty. I can't imagine the other dishes being any better. I really wanted to try their version of a hula pie, but was scared after what I ate. We sat at the bar. The service was attentive and friendly. I really appreciated the Hawaiian decor. There was a guitar player with nice sounding music. Sadly, I don't think I'll be returning because I'm so disappointed with the food I ate. read more

This is a cute little tiki bar. Camehere for a lunch, Started off with the spam musibi. Yum. Then I had the kimo's bowl. That was also amazing. We also ordered the loco moco, I got a little taste in, it was pretty good. The gravy was a bit tanging, however, the pork made up for the gravy. The hula pie is a must have. Big enough to share with at least 4 people. The zombie drink was A+. I will say the service needs improvement. It seems as if they were a bit short staffed. So we were a bit patient. We had to track them down several times. But overall. Great place. Will def come back here again. I want to try the garlic shrimp. read more
Finally went to check this place out! It was a busy day and the inside was packed so we decided on the patio, which is nicely shaded. The decor is really cute both inside and out. Service was nice and checked on us! We decided on the nachos and the tacos. The tacos were good but honestly nothing special. There's so much to love about Kaia's. The space is gorgeous, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to choose from. We stopped by to pick up a gift card for my grandparents' anniversary (both born and raised in Hawaii), and decided to stay for brunch. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to take care of us. We loved the strong, well-made drinks from the bar. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the beautiful setting. Chicken and Ube Waffles ($21) - Katsu chicken, maple ube syrup, and coconut whipped cream. Definitely Instagram-worthy and pretty tasty, but not something I'd rush back for. I tried to look up the other dish I ordered, but their brunch menu isn't published online or the photos don't match the actual offerings. I'm confused. As someone who always checks new menus ahead of time, it's frustrating that you can't preview what's available. . . Or it's wrong. The eggs, spam, and Portuguese sausage scramble was a disappointment. Small portion for $19, lacking flavor and missing ingredients listed on the menu. I'd definitely come back for drinks and appetizers, and the fire playlist of all my favorite local reggae music. But for authentic Hawaiian flavors, I'll stick to finding them back on the islands. Sidenote- my 86 year old grandparents LOVED their anniversary dinner so it's best to give this place a try and decide for yourself! read more

This place was a let down. Drink are good specially their mai tai but food seems off . I have been to the islands several times so can say that the food quality isn't as good. Even if it's semi Hawaii I would have given 4 or 5 stars. The kaluo pork is soggy with too much cheese and sauce. The tacos are very plain. read more

If you can't hop a flight to Hawaiʻi right now, don't worry... Kaia's will transport you there with a single bite. It's got that instant-vacation vibe. Warm, welcoming energy, great service and an atmosphere that feels like someone bottled aloha and set it right in Danville. First thing I saw on the menu: Spam Musubi. WE WERE SOLD. Plating? Beautiful. Flavor? On point and that sauce? Bruh. The perfect opener. I went with the Maui Burger and whoa... Schmitz Ranch beef, corn-pepper salsa, lime, teriyaki sauce, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions and yes, potato salad on the side. It was juicy, flavorful and balanced. It hit every note and then some. My wife ordered the Ohana Beef Stew and that bowl just hugged us from the inside out. Tender chuck roast, onions, carrots, celery, potatoes, rich broth and served with rice... True comfort food. You don't see stew like this often at Hawaiian spots and in winter? Perfect timing. Pure cozy vibes. And then... the Hula Pie. Chocolate cookie crust, macadamia nut gelato, whipped cream, toasted coconut, fudge sauce. This dessert is ELITE. No exaggeration, I had a moment of silence. Speechless. It's that good. I put my handsover my face, i had the greedy feeling of wanting another slice lol. We'll be back... with family... with friends... with anyone who needs a good meal, good vibes or a mini vacation on a tough day. Kaia's that feel-good spot you keep in your back pocket. Poor Princess. We've concluded that the 15th of the month, which is when she gets her anti-flea/tick/heartworm medication would also be a good day for her to get a bath. We visit a pet store in Danville to accomplish this. Afterwards, we usually need lunch. I found Kaia's on yelp. It looked promising. Apparently, Harvey K has already been there with a friend, although he hasn't written a review yet. We enjoy the idea of a Tiki Lounge, even we rarely drink alcohol when not on a cruise ship. We're both big fans of Hawaiian food and music and the pictures on yelp showed a laid-back vibe. Because we had the dog with us, we opted to sit outside and away from other guests. No point having our Princess bothering others while they're eating lunch. There was only one server working so he was kept pretty busy running the dining room and the outside spaces. The name on our receipt said Chris A. Whatever his name was, he was cordial and took good care of us. We had time to chat later when most of the other guests had left. He was also kind enough to offer to take a picture of the three of us in front of the restaurant. Crispy Coconut Prawns - 4 - Deep-fried, perhaps a bit hard. Perhaps one or two minutes less in the fryer would be sufficient to cook the prawns without making the crust so hard. I got the coconut flavor. The dipping sauce was a bit of a surprise. It looked to me like Thai sweet chili sauce, but it had a bit more bite than I had expected. The Pineapple Cole Slaw was yummy. Loco Moco with Hamburger - 3 - The rice, hamburger patty and sunny-side up eggs were spot on. The gravy was not what I expected. It was very dark and seemed to have a tang to it, perhaps some apple cider vinegar? Large Kimo's Bowl - 4 - She really enjoyed the vinegar dressed veg between the rice and the paniolo steak. The beef was tender and flavorful. Potato-Mac Salad - 1 - Potato-Mac Salad is something that I make and bring to potlucks and other events. I found the small bowl of salad that was served to be very disappointing on many levels. I understand there are 1000's of variations possible but when I order potato-mac, I expect potatoes and either elbow or straight macaroni, not strands of capellini or angel's hair. Those two pasta products have no bite and can't stand up to any size of potato. One major plus note, the last two "Hawaiian Style" restaurants we ate it were NOT playing Hawaiian music. Kaia's was. We'll be back after another doggy bath and try ordering other flavors. read more

What a fun spot in the cutest little downtown area! I was in the area for work and was able to stop in for lunch. First, it was hard to pick what to get...so much of the menu sounded delicious (and looked delicious, from what I could see of surrounding tables). I opted for the poke bowl - which came in a full-size or a smaller, 3/4 portion, which I so appreciated! It was delicious - there were so many flavors from the tuna, to the pickled veggies, to the fruit slaw! It was the perfect portion size. Update from last visit because the soft opening was excellent but I wanted to see what it was like when it's post opening. I dropped a star because the food is good and we will go back but service was just okay. Not like our soft opening experience. It was also our anniversary dinner (no one asked or cared). - Request to be seated outside but moved a table over. We were seated right at the entrance. Funny was the other guests after us shuffled too. - The wait staff gave everyone a water bottle except us. We got the direct pour (disappointed). - Server gave our order to another table. We caught it. - Waiter had issues checking us out. I will put that on the POS. He wasn't as engaging and seems like it has been a long day. - Purposely skipped dessert because I was disappointed with service and decided to go walk around town. read more

Came here for a party and got to try a bit of everything! I tried the chicken teriyaki, the garlic noodles, the kalua pork, the poke nachos, the spring rolls, and the spam musubi. The poke nachos were so yummy! Super crunchy and flavorful and the fish was fresh. I like how there wasn't really sauce on it so you could get the authentic fish flavor. The kalua pork was juicy and tender as well. The chicken teriyaki was a bit dry in my opinion and I wish I got more of the teriyaki sauce on it. The garlic noodles didn't have that much of a garlic taste in my opinion either and tasted more like chow mein but it was still filling and good! The spam musubi was yummy as well but the sauce was a bit spicy for me as I don't like spicy haha. The veggie spring rolls were one of my faves as they were big and filling. I would give this place 3.5 stars and I'd come back and try other items on the menu! read more
Kaia's has been open about 4 months. We popped in on a Friday night, reservations are not taken, but plenty of tables were available. We sat inside to soak in the Island decor and live Hawaiian music. We started with the Ohana Pod Mai Tai, coconut shrimp and the poke on taro chips. The cocktail flavorful and classic in style topped with lilikoi foam - beautiful! The coconut shrimp was done well, crisp with a balanced hot and sweet sauce. I prefer shrimp to be a bit larger for coconut shrimp. Our mains were the Kalua pork and green curry seafood. The seafood was shrimp, salmon and sea bass and seasonal veggies, zucchini. The pork was tender, moist and tasty. The hula pie was probably the best one I've ever had. Coconut forward and nice crunchy pieces of macadamia. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and service was efficient. We will be back! read more

Came here late last night with my husband was actually pretty surprised at how good this restaurant was. We came in like 20 min before the kitchen closed. (The kitchen closes 1 hr before the entire bar itself closes). But the waitstaff were still extremely nice. We ordered pretty quickly to not hold up the restaurant but we got their chicken karaage, perfect wave (drink), loco moco, and kalua pork (plate). The chicken karaage isn't really anything special. It mainly is carried by the spicy mayo dipping sauce. There is a pineapple slaw off to the side but I'm not entire sure it warrants the cost. The Perfect Wave is pretty good as a non-alcoholic drink though. Probably will come back to try something else non-alcoholic. The kalua pork is a bit bland but it's not bad. My husband was the one who ordered it so I stole some of his to try. However the loco moco was AMAZING! Like the house made gravy is a banger and when my husband tried it, he loved it. Since he ended up with leftovers, I gave him all my leftover gravy to go with the rice. The loco moco plate itself was really delicious too. The patty, eggs, were all really delicious. We were also suggested to try the Hula pie for dessert. Now I know people in reviews say it's not authentic, but given I've never had one, it was still really delicious. All in all, this restaurant is pretty unique with a tiki bar theme but also having Hawaiian food as a whole compared to the normal Hawaiian BBQ establishment. The decor is really cute otherwise! Loved our drinks - the tiki cups were super fun! Food was good, wishing the happy hour menu had some better deals. Everything was tasty and came out hot and fresh. Service was good, but it was a Tuesday night and there were not a lot of people there. Loved the decor and music - made me want to jump on a plane to go to Hawaii! read more

This is more of a 4.5 star review. Definitely a good place to go to if you're in the Danville area. Went here with my wife and cousin after striking out on our original go to restaurant on a Friday evening. There is very limited street parking at Kaia's however there are areas where you can park close by and walk to the restaurant. The Friday we went was busy and there was quite a bit of a wait time to get seated. The inside is decorative and has the aloha vibe. The server who was serving us looked very flustered and tired due to the restaurant being short handed however the dude was very nice towards the mid and the end of our meal. Can't blame him though cause he needed help. For drinks, we ordered a flavored ice tea and an alcoholic cocktail. For our meal, we ordered the shortrib which came with rice and veggies, the loco moco, furikake fries, and for the appetizer, the poke. The short rib was flavorful, juicy and was cooked just right. The overall meal was great along with the appetizers. For dessert we went with the servers recommendation, hula pie, which was very good. Glad we went with that. Overall will definitely go back. The only reason why I am docking a half star was this place was short handed. Felt bad for the guy serving us cause he looked wiped out and he and another person were the only servers there. read more
