-Intro: As I'm preparing to write this I'm on the fence of whether this place is a 4 or a 5/5. I'm very conflicted. First off this place is just on the side of the road kind of out in the middle of nowhere. Nothing but orchards before and after it until you hit the city and the freeway. While the main building itself seems a tad small from the outside, there's still a decent number of tables. And if that isn't enough, they have an entire covered seating area directly next to the building. -Offerings: As for food offerings, they have a good amount. They have their standard cheeseburgers that come standard as a single to a triple. Then they have their special burger/sandwiches. For example they have a cheeseburger that also comes with a fried chicken patty. -Prices: Seeing the price of the signature burgers, and not even talking about the combo prices, I was already a bit off put. That pushed me to end up ordering a double cheeseburger (add bacon) combo which after tax, tip and credit card fee (unmentioned) wound up to be $30.49. $30+ for a single combo at a fast casual restaurant is absolutely absurd to me under MOST circumstances. I just had this feeling I was in for a huge disappointment. These are like big city fancy burger restaurants prices. -Food: While they weren't slow, the food definitely did not come out fast. I can fully appreciate the time it took to cook the food properly though. The crinkle fries were as perfectly cooked as you could possibly get them. Golden brown crisp on the outside and fully cooked on the inside. I'm not sure what kind of bun they use but it had a hint of sweetness to it. It was pillowy soft yet durable as it held up well. The patties were juicy and flavorful and I loved the cheese too. I'm not sure how many ounces their patties are but these things were BIG; they ended up being wider than the buns. I definitely had some slippage so I wish I kept the paper wrapping to hold it together more until I ate more of the burger. I got 3 different sauces to try: house sauce, ranch and spicy ranch. I highly recommend the spicy ranch for the fries as that was my favorite. -Final thoughts: I've had some VERY good burgers at multiple price points and size ranges over the years. While the fries were great and the burger had some heft to it, I struggle to justify a burger combo at that price point, especially for a fast casual restaurant. No, the fact that they are a fast casual restaurant doesn't factor THAT heavily into the review, but it is still worth noting for anyone who just wants a good burger at a decent price point. Had this been a special burger (with smoked meats, fancy cheeses or toppings etc) I can see the justification for the pricing a little easier but considering that this is a basic bacon double cheeseburger, although a good one, I cannot justify giving them a 5/5. On taste alone a 5/5 for the area, but factoring everything in, 4/5.
Double B Burgers was FIRE! The burgers were huge, juicy, and packed with flavor, and the fries were on point. Definitely come hungry! We'll be back!
My husband had been talking about this place for about 6 months. We finally made it out from Manteca. Kind of out in the middle of nowhere but definitely worth the drive. Nice and clean inside. Staff is more than welcoming and very, very nice. I ordered the western bacon burger, my husband ordered the barnyard burger. We also ordered the chopped cheese fries as well as an order of seasoned crinkle cut fries. Safe to say they were the BEST burgers we've ever had! 10/10! The chopped cheese fries are amazing and can be a meal in and of themselves. Fries are perfectly seasoned and nice and crispy. Milkshakes are also 10/10. We got the cookies and cream and I got a s'mores to go. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs. Everything was bomb.com tell your mom!!!
My husband chose this wonderful place for his Father's Day lunch and boy this was such a treat! We tried a few things and everything was fantastic. The jalapeño poppers are the best I have ever had. Their dry rub chicken wings were crispy and well seasoned. The churro fries were tasty perfect to pair up with a strong coffee after the food coma I was sensing was going to creep on us. My kids each got some shakes that they really enjoyed. The barnyard burger is an epic creation. Fried chicken patty, hamburger patty, bacon, a delicious maple bacon jam, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. I took a bite and it was delicious. My husband had to push through to finish it. I had a regular cheeseburger with tater tots and it was amazing. Some ppl do say that the price is high, but you're getting what you pay for.the food is well prepared with quality ingredients. The hamburger bread is pillow soft and yet it holds up without falling apart. I felt great after eating here, not the gross feeling I get after eating at places like McDonald's. Overall I highly, highly recommend this establishment the food is amazing and the customer service is great.
I pass by Double B's six days a week, but long before they open, so it was really only by happenstance that I found myself back over there for lunch the other day. And I was excited! I adore a well-made burger. It took a while to get noticed at the counter despite being the only person in line. I observed others get much more prompt service after me, which I didn't love. The food was well made--though overpriced but we'll address that separately--except for one major grievance. Something in their basic, single patty cheeseburger is SWEET. And while I can't be absolutely sure, I have an inkling that it was due to bread-and-butter pickles on the burger. A GREVIOUS SIN. Savory pickles only, or don't bother. BNB are disgusting and don't belong anywhere near a burger. I wouldn't have finished said weirdly sweet burger if it weren't for the cost. For a single cheeseburger sized at about your average chain-burger-place, the house fries and a beverage, you're looking to spend $22 before tip. It's spendy to eat here, if you're coming from clear over the otherside of town. So finish it I did. I'd also be remiss to leave out any mention of the atmosphere--as a tattooed-mulleted human, I felt like I was in a bit of a fishbowl and that didn't make me feel at ease. Will I be back? Maybe if they open for breakfast in the future. Otherwise I'll stick to much closer options to home for burgers and fries.
Finally got to try this place today after passing it for years. The pictures on yelp are what convinced me to stop in instead of running to In-N-Out. I must say that the customer service is better than that of In-N-Out and the food was also. It's such a cute little place inside but they also have additional seating outside in a covered building/carport so there's plenty of places to sit. We got a double western burger, fries, soda and the spicy green beans. Both the fries and green beans are even better with ranch! Everything was awesome. I forgot to take pictures but I will the next time we go which may be soon since everything was so fantastic! Lastly, they have a rewards program which seems awesome! Not sure entirely how it works but after you purchase your food, it asks for a phone number to earn points! Truly a gem of a little roadside burger joint. This will have to be a regular stop for us from Patterson to Modesto.
Delicious food from burgers to chicken sandwiches. I ordered the bacon chicken sandwich with crinkle fries and they were amazing. I also ordered the kids chicken for my daughter who is a picky eater and she loved her chicken strips and onion rings (which is rare).
HIDDEN GEM. The food goes hand in hand with the service, fantastic! My family and I throughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back. Who i believe is the owner was great as well, he came around asking how the food and was very appreciative of our feedback and also gave my 2 boys complimentary cookies. The ambiance is very homey, while we enjoyed our meal we also were able to enjoy an episode of the great "Married with Children". Overall this place was fantastic! If you're ever in the area or just want damn good burger, this is the place!
First time trying this place !!! And omg delicious and so good !! Portions were great!!! Had western burger !!! Cheese bacon onion rings BBQ sauce OH MY!!! And lived the tea and the pink lemonade after we finished ..we ordered a Oreo shake !!! Thick creamy and just. The right kinda dessert !!! We will be back!!! Also put my phone number in after I paid and joined the rewards club!!!
Quick service, nice clean restaurant, and definitely a great burger. I want to try the crinkle cut fries next time but I will be back!

On my husband's work commute he passes by this restaurant. He had been wanting to try this place and so we did. I don't care for cookies and cream shakes, but this Oreo shake was delicious!!! The cookie that was placed on top of the drink was not stale. It was good, the tater tot's were crispy outside and soft inside. The place was clean and well maintained. Service was great very friendly and prompt. Only thing is not sure about the pickles if they don't use dill, didn't care for those sweet pickles they put in our burgers. My daughter was a bit disappointed, but overall we had a great meal and will be back to explore the menu some more. read more

I got recommended to try this place and it did not disappoint! The cashier and the young man gave great customer service. He was constantly checking to see if we needed anything else. Now for the food, we ordered 2 Single Cheeseburgers, the house fries, a grilled chicken sandwich and the work fries. The burger had a distinct flavor with a slight mix of sweetness. The chicken was tender and well seasoned. The fries were amazing! I recommend trying the Work Fries. We finished off with a cookies n cream shake, by which they were kind enough to split the drink for us. The restaurant is small, but has enough space to come by and eat. I also noticed they have outdoor seating if you'd like to eat outside and enjoy the sun. We will be back! read more
Went today for lunch and I must say the whole experience was amazing. Every staff member was so friendly upon entrance. They really checked on us to keep making sure we had an amazing experience after our food came out. The food was so fresh, juicy, and amazing. My husband had a western burger combo and I had the ranch bacon chicken sandwich combo. I forgot to take pictures of the sandwich and burger because the shake I ordered was so good that I forgot to let the camera eat first. We will be returning (: read more

Just a short drive out of Salida. Food was amazing. Yes, a but expensive but this is no frozen patties. Hand formed patties with fresh veggies. The cheese was cheesin'. My daughter (who is a picky eater) inhaled her burger. They do use sweet pickles and not your standard "hamburger pickle". Service was great! Very attentive and, who I assume was the owner, was going around giving samples of their apple honey jam (delicious!) and their chocolate shake. The place is small and parking is just gravel so with the rain it did make it a but challenging but its also a little country location so for where they are at it isn't unexpected. Our favorite burger in the area for sure. We will definitely be back! read more

Ordered the double cheeseburger and chopped cheese fries. Placed on online order and took me about ten minutes to get there, food was ready by then. Burger and fries stood out from other places I have been to. Good size patties, good sauce and the fries are a dish in itself. Staff was very friendly and appreciated the business. Plenty of parking. Would recommended it. I'm not from the area but would eat there again. read more

I've been wanting to try this place ever since it took over the old spot. I finally stopped by on a Tuesday around 7 PM. The restaurant was pretty empty, with just one couple sitting in the corner. The young lady at the counter was very sweet and welcoming. One thing I noticed right away is that the only menu available is on the TVs behind the counter, and it moves pretty fast. A physical menu would be really helpful! Everything I ordered is listed on the attached receipt. I included it because I had trouble finding prices online and wanted to give others an idea of what to expect. As for the food--it was good! I'll definitely be back. The Western BBQ burger was solid, I think it would be even better with some buffalo sauce (please add buffalo sauce to your dipping options!). read more

My girlfriend and I have been wanting to try this spot for a while. Every time we drove by it was always after hours but today we finally got the opportunity to try it. The establishment was clean and welcoming. The lady that took our order was really nice and the 3 young men working in the back had a great vibe and provided awesome customer service. The food was on point as well. Definitely didn't taste like frozen hamburgers and the crinkle fries were crispy. We will definitely be back I want to try the burnt end sausage the 1 of the 3 young men highly recommend. Definitely worth the drive in the country for a good burger. read more
