We made a reservation to have a nice dinner. Staff was super nice. The drink menu was limited. We had two appetizers one was good the other was okay. We got the pasta because it said homemade pasta, it was good. I just didn't feel like I would want to come back, the price to food flavor was a solid 3. It is very nice inside. I will try this place in a different season, maybe the menu will be different.

Wow, what a great experience! I had made reservations for a birthday dinner on a Friday night. I was a little nervous not knowing what to expect since it was my first time dinning at Dewz. For food, we ordered a Brie and two pasta dishes along with drinks. The Brie was simply amazing. I loved the combo with the strawberry puree and the pistachios. It had a creamy, sweet but crunchy taste to it. The pastas were good as well. Mine had a chili oil base to it whereas my bf had a beef broth to it. The drinks had the right amount of alcohol but not overly sweet either. Service was good too. Water was always constantly served and our waitress would explain everything that was in our dishes including options for desserts. One thing that caught me off guard is they will fold your napkin for you if you were to leave it sorta in a balled up status if you go use the bathroom. Def fancy fancy The interior has an intimate atmosphere to it with its dim lighting and dark furniture coloring. Good option to take someone for a special occasion, or maybe first date (if you want to give a great impression lol). This place is pricey so expect to spend somewhere near the 3 digits to 4 digits amount. My one take away is for what you are paying for, I kinda wished they gave a little complementary birthday cake. Even if it's bite sized. Overall, I would definitely come back again, only on a special occasion though.

Service at Dewz never disappoints, food always enjoyable. Most importantly they always have a good cocktail list.

This place is great for a night out or special occasions. Service was amazing the food was better than I could've imagined. Highly recommend the Baked Brie. I hear it changes with the seasons so I look forward to trying the others.

Came here to celebrate the SO's birthday and had a nice evening with lots of food at Dewz! Located off J Street and 15th (next to the Tru-Fitness Gym), Dewz Restaurant was one of my bookmarked restaurants to go to for fancy dinner, and they were legit! Curious, I learned that Dewz is named after the original owner's brother who passed away from leukemia (RIP). I made reservations through Yelp about a week prior and this restaurant in particular does require credit card information to confirm the reservation since they do charge a $ amount if you cancel 24 hours before. The inside is definitely intimate - dim lighting, maroon fabric walls lined against washed out brick and floor to ceiling mirrors gave the illusion of a larger space. Classic instrumental versions of modern day hits softly play (we caught a classicized Black n Yellow and What Was I Made For during our visit lol). We ordered: Dreamsicle cocktail - very cool presentation with the vaped-up bubble encasing the drink, and very fun to pop. It tasted just like an Orange Dream Machine from Jamba Juice. Super sweet and perfect for someone who doesn't really enjoy the taste of alcohol (me). Baked peach brie - tasted just like a breakfast parfait! Also came with super buttery focaccia 43 oz bone-in ribeye at Market Price of $256, we decided to top it with a blue cheese and bacon crust for an extra $5. Although I didn't really detect blue cheese, I liked the seasoned breadcrumbs that gave the meat a more herby flavor (didn't really need the horseradish, Calabrian chimichurri, or mushroom sauces that were included). The meat also came with veggies and our choice of side; we went with the miso-bacon mac and cheese. I can definitely taste the miso, super creamy and satisfying. Side of loaded thick-cut fries - probably my favorite side dish, the fries were more like Lincoln logs-thick and kept their crispiness even when drenched in cheese sauce and sprinkled with bacon Kind of disappointed that they do not do comped birthday desserts - not to sound entitled - just an fyi for any future patrons looking to celebrate with something like that. Heather waited on us throughout the night and she was amazing - our water cups were never empty and she explained everything on the menu. She was even kind to inform us that our main entrée usually takes an hour to prep (!!). We timed it ourselves and found that our steak and sides came approx. 1.5 hour after order placement. So make sure you account for that if you have other plans after dinner (no movies for us to catch, fortunately!) Overall, a really nice dinner for a special occasion. Definitely budget for this!

Went for a wine pairing dinner and to secretly celebrate my wife's B-day. I say secretly because we did not announce it to our server or table. Upon arrival the host opens the door and greets you right away. Also when you leave, they open the door for you too. Service is AMAZING! From entering the restaurant and to the very end, they're great! Every pairing was flawless! 1. Heirloom tomatoe Caprese burrata with honey and white balsamic glaze 2. Lobster tail with Peach gastrique fennel & apple foam was an experience on its own and had my taste buds erupting. I want to return just for this dish. 3. Followed by a breaded baked Brie blackberry bacon agrodolce thyme hazelnut pickled mustard seed...yes there's no comas because that's how it tasted! 4. Then a full 6 oz Zabuton cooked to absolute medium rare perfection! 5. Finished with a Chocolate mouse with cocoa nibs and olive oil...light fluffy and the olive oil really brought out the cocoa Throughout the dinner the wait staff truly creates the experience by cleaning the table very often and checking up on you. Although we didn't announce it was a celebration for my wife's Bday the staff over heard it and brought out an additional birthday fruit desert dish with a candle to help make the evening unforgettable. One of the best experiences!

The food was amazing. The ambiance is spectacular, and the service was nothing less than top tier. 100/10 would recommend. Thank you for making our celebration even more special Dewz!

My party was seated fairly quickly. Our waitress took all our orders by memory - we were a party of 8! I got the Chicken Marsala: Chicken, sauce, mixed veggies, mashed potatoes, and gravy. I started off with the mixed veggies - they were cooked soft, just how I like them. They were also flavorful! Not just regular ole steamed frozen veggies, they definitely were buttered and seasoned or something. Next, the mashed potatoes. I'm not a mashed potato connoisseur - matter of fact, I usually skip eating mashed potatoes when they're available. These mashed potatoes however were so flavorful! And it was not only the gravy doing all the talking, it was both the mash and the gravy. I was impressed! Lastly, the chicken Marsala. The chicken itself was cooked to perfection, moist on the inside & fully cooked - and with chicken breast, we all know how hard that is to accomplish. The sauce was incredible. I have never had any Marsala sauce as good as that. So much flavor, very savory. Altogether, the flavors worked together and worked perfectly. If only I wasn't an hour away, I would come here more often. I hope to be here again someday!

Unless there's another room I didn't notice, this place is not as big as expected from the outside (or I'm just horrible with space and dimensions). That said, I can see it getting crowded during regular lunch and dinner times. We went when it opened and it was quite filled up with folks by the time we left.

I showed up around 7pm and I thought it might have been closed because no one was here. But they were open. I ordered a Bauer burger with the house seasoned fries. They asked how I'd like the egg cooked and the burger cooked: I asked for medium for both. Given how dead the place was, it did take a minute to get my food. The burger was ok, not worth $21. The bun fell apart very quickly which is a bit of a cardinal sin in the burger game. The bacon on the burger was not bacon strips but a bit of bacon crumble. The patty was a bit overcooked so it was dry and it wasn't seasoned so it was bland. The egg was cooked perfectly, but the aioli and the egg yolk with a disintegrated bun made for a huge mess. The fries were interesting. The house seasoned fries are not salted. So the fries were almost sweet due to the spices, but no salt. And they do not have regular table ketchup or malt vinegar. I did ask for some ketchup and they brought me their house ketchup. While not like a classic ketchup, it was actually quite good. Oh, be aware. They will charge you a 4% fee when they bring you the check (what would have happened if I'd paid with cash?). I do not see anywhere on the menu where they say their is a payment fee so that is a pretty shady business practice. Overall: meh. I think for the price point the burger should have been great, but sadly I can't say it was great or even good. I'd likely not return.

We all order different things off the menu. A prime rib, a sirloin steak, chicken parm, and George's burger. I had the burger with sweet potato fries. I'm not a BIG fan of sweet potato fries usually, but I was wanting to try something different. They were perfectly cooked! My burger was cooked exactly how I wanted it. Here, you order your food, grab a number, and find your own seat for the food to be brought out to you. We sat at a table outside to decide what to order. There were no menus available so we just had to search for it online before heading inside to order. Despite being third in line from the register, we had an extremely long wait to order. There was only one person running the register who also had to make the drinks, meaning the service incredibly slow. We wanted to order the five taco platter, garlic fries, chicken Caesar salad, and mimosa pitcher. Sadly, we were only able to get the pitcher and salad. The cashier told us "sorry, we aren't doing fries right now." Not doing fries? Every plate in the vicinity had fries on them. She said that because it was brunch hour, only food on the brunch menu could be ordered. We looked at the brunch menu again and literally saw garlic fries as an option as a side for the burgers/sandwiches. No where did it specify that you can't order off the other menu and both were available online. What bothered us about this is that we placed this order at around 1:50pm, and brunch ended at 2:00pm. I understand that we are not entitled to things on the lunch menu during brunch-time for items like the tacos, but considering the menu swap was less than 10 minutes away and they were quite literally were "doing fries" at the time, it didn't make much sense to us. The only food that we ended up ordering was the Chicken Caesar Salad. This one dish took a super long time to receive. By the time it was brought out, the three of us nearly finished the Mimosa pitcher. The waitress noticed we had no silverware and said she would go grab us some. Because of how the service had been going thus far, we placed a bet on whether or not the waitress would come back with the silverware. Surprise, surprise. She didn't. We had to go inside later and search for silverware ourselves. We weren't even able to get sharing plates which was upsetting since the waitress asked us if we would be sharing the salad. The salad itself looked delicious, but was bland. The dressing was missing that zing and zest that a Caesar dressing typically has. I do appreciate that is was a chopped salad, had avocado, and seasoned croutons. It is just unfortunate that it was lacking any flavor at all. The food prices are quite affordable for the quantity of food you receive though. This experience was disappointing because I was so optimistic about the place. The menu looked good, it had fun and casual vibes and a cool crowd of people. If Commonwealth worked towards better service practices, it would have been a more positive experience.

Not a big deal or worth one less start. However, the ambiance is close but not quite. We had a reservation and, upon arrival, were seated between two full tables. One had two children who were loud and wiggly throughout our whole meal. (Nothing against children, they were totally appropriate for their age and very cute) But it would be nice if reservations had designated areas that were a bit farther away from the crunch of the walk-in crowd. ALL the waitstaff and manager (I think- blue floral polo) were very focused on closure for the full hour. Unloading clean dishes, stocking the bar, a lot of watch checking. This is pretty off-putting when trying to enjoy food and feeling the pressure of closing time. No ongoing smiles or eye contact. Ambience: very cute, modern vibe. May need to look into some sound absorption material as there is quite loud reverberations from lively parties nearby. I also felt the employees were not very happy and I felt it was due to them being under extreme scrutiny of above-mentioned manager. Nobody smiled.
