Such a cute place and great breakfast! Visited on a Friday morning for brunch. They were moderately busy with parties inside and outside but we were seated fairly quickly. We ordered: Breakfast Tots Grilled Fruit & Brie Berry lemon cheesecake waffle Coffee flight Everything was amazing. I love tater tots and adding the breakfast staples on top made it 5x better. The only thing that would knock it out of the park is some salsa. My friend enjoyed their grilled fruit and Brie. I really enjoyed the berry lemon cheesecake waffle. The waffle was light but perfectly crisped. Presentation was 10/10. Located in downtown Riverbank. Really cute downtown. Worth the detour and drive. Looking forward to coming back. read more

I've been here twice now -- once last August and once earlier this month -- and both times were Sundays (important for the later part of this review). If you're planning a Saturday or Sunday visit you definitely want to make a reservation! Based off my first visit I would have give this place 4 stars. The drinks are delicious, the food is incredible with good portions, and everything of course looks great visually as well. The main con the first visit was that service was extremely slow and there was a drink ordered that was completely forgotten about, however they were clearly short staffed and when we did have service she was very apologetic and friendly and comped the beverage so we had no complaints. We went back this month for my birthday and while everything we did have was once again delicious, they were out of a decent portion of the menu. Off the top of my head they were out of all flavors of deviled eggs, pulled pork, tuna for the poke stack and poke bowl, risotto balls, some wines, and a couple other things I don't recall. The first couple times the waitress said something we wanted was out we didn't mind and pivoted, especially since she said those were the only items they were out of. However, it quickly became evident that was not the case. She said the reason was it was Sunday and they are only open Thursday-Sunday so they often run out of stock during the Sunday rush. Like I said earlier, the last time I was there on a Sunday there was no issue with items being unavailable, and I feel like if this is a recurring issue maybe that's something that should be looked at when ordering for the week? But I also am not in the restaurant business so who knows maybe this isn't that unusual. It was just a bummer to go for my birthday excited to try certain things, only to ultimately end up with a chicken Caesar salad (which was still good though!). There were still pros with this recent visit, again everything looked and tasted great and the service was friendly and much quicker than the previous visit. The mimosa flights are fun and there's a ton of flavors to choose from. We got a seasonal peach toast appetizer to share and it was so good. The service was absolutely terrible at this place. Went in on Mother's Day with a reservation and got to the place around 9:15 order drinks which came out fast. The drinks were really good. The flights and all the mimosas were great. However, it took exactly almost an hour for us to get our food. Meanwhile, the entire restaurant had cleared out. Might add the food is very simple dishes nothing too extra extravagant, tater tots, eggs with cheese and bacon on top. The waitress was really nice and try to explain that our ticket was last because of the way they put it, but other tables were getting their food after they sat down less than 10 minutes. The food was mediocre and they had all the nerve to ask us to get up and leave because we had been there too long and they had another reservation. Meanwhile, they took over an hour again to get our food to us. Absolutely disappointed the type of service we received versus others was much noticed. Would never ever visit here again. Additional response : 4:26pm. Owner responded. Thank you for your response. However, I do feel that the core concerns raised were largely overlooked and instead generalized as simply being a result of Mother's Day volume. Our party of seven was seated at approximately 9:15 AM, orders were placed and yet we waited over an hour to receive food while multiple surrounding tables including parties of similar size were served, finished, and left before we even received our meals. Respectfully, the explanation of "many tables ordering at once" does not fully align with what we directly observed throughout our visit. I also want to address the contradiction regarding the 90-minute reservation policy. While I understand that holiday time limits may be communicated in advance, enforcing that policy after it took over an hour for our food to arrive left our family with little to no reasonable time to actually enjoy the food. That is the second portion of this experience that felt especially unfair and frustrating. Additionally, while I appreciate the acknowledgment regarding delays, the response still avoids accountability for the inconsistency in service we experienced compared to other tables around us. We timed parties arriving significantly later than us receiving drinks within minutes and food shortly after, while our table continued waiting without urgency. This was meant to be a special Mother's Day celebration for our family, and unfortunately the experience left us feeling dismissed, rushed, and overlooked rather than valued as paying guests. read more

A crisp & pillowy on the inside waffle with a lemon cream cheese type topping & berries, insanely tasty. Not too sweet, very well balanced. A California Benedict avocado toast, cooked perfectly with a medium well poached egg. Ingredients were fresh and mouth watering. Breakfast this Saturday morning was delish. We ordered the Veg Breakfast Sandwich with bacon and the Breakfast Burrito plus coffee. Service was stellar; portions were ample and our selections were delectable. We have returned to Get Toasted multiple times and each time we try a different item. My friends and I had been wanting to try Get Toasted for a while, mostly because everyone talks about the coffee flights like they're a spiritual experience. So naturally, we decided to stop by for coffee one afternoon, arriving a whole 45 minutes before closing. Important detail: forty-five. Not five. The moment we walked in, the hostess looked up at us with the kind of smile people give when they're trying not to sigh out loud and immediately informed us, with no greeting whatsoever, that "the kitchen is closed." Fair enough -- we were there for coffee anyway. When we asked if coffee was still available, she answered "yes" in a tone that somehow made us feel like we had personally inconvenienced her bloodline. We quickly asked about flavors, excited to try the famous coffee flights we'd heard so much about, only to be told we could only order regular iced coffees "to go." Again, this was while the restaurant was still open, mostly empty, and with other customers actively dining inside. The coffees were handed to us with all the warmth of a parking ticket, and by that point the experience had already left such a bad taste in our mouths that the coffee itself didn't stand much of a chance. Which, unfortunately, was probably for the best because it wasn't nearly as life-changing as social media had promised. I went here for the first time with my cousin who has been several times. The restaurant itself is a good size with outdoor seating and a couple high top tables. We went on a Sunday around 12:30 so they were pretty busy and we did have a little wait. Our server was attentive but also busy with other tables and had to take a 30 minute break in between. The server who broke her did check on us twice and gave us extra napkins. I ordered a pistachio matcha martini that was super yummy! My cousin gets the espresso martini and has nothing but good things to say about it. I ordered the Brie sandwich as my meal and I would absolutely order it again! The flavor was incredible and the cheese was melty and gooey. I also had sweet potato fries which were very flavorful and had a good amount of them. My daughter got the waffle flight and I had a couple bites of the waffle which was crunchy and crispy! All of the toppings were pretty sweet so I'd definitely recommend sharing it as a dessert. Place was packed when we got there. There was outside seating, but since it was raining and a little chilly that day we wanted to sit inside. They did not have a lot of areas to wait inside so you kind of stand next to the wall. Once we were seated in the far back next to the restrooms where they only have one restroom so often times we did see people lineup waiting. The decor is fun and light with a little photo op area. I really like champagne and typically, I only do a small splash of pineapple. I like to taste the champagne and not overpower it with juice. So we had asked our waitress if she would be willing to sell us a few juices on the side so we can explore flavors and be able to control the amount of sweetness. My personal preference is I like fresh fruit juice I do not do the purée or the syrups. I find them to be too sweet and taste like medicine. Unfortunately, we didn't think to ask about the juice first. We ended up discovering after that it comes out of a carton. We did not like any of the juices except for one which I believe was the guava. And of course, this is at no fault of the waitress or the restaurant. This is more just personal preference, but if you're anything like me, I would recommend asking them if they have fresh juice or order a little bit of the juice on the side (which I believe is an extra charge) As far as the food goes, I ordered the hangover scramble, but honestly, it wasn't that great and the food was a bit cold when it came out. My fiancé did get the "get roasted" sandwich and his sandwich was pretty amazing so if we go back, I will probably lean more towards the breakfast sandwiches. Service was great.
