In town visiting family and stopped for breakfast. It is a cute little diner, service was great and the food was yummy. Portions are large so plan for some leftovers. Cute little place to eat! I sat at the bar and the server/bartender was very attentive and helpful! I ordered the Denver omelette, with hash browns, sourdough toast, and an ice tea. The ice tea was in a big mason jar, which was fun! Not too pricey, I paid $21 and that was with tax. My group came here for breakfast on the way up to Yosemite. We were seated right away but since there seemed to be very few workers, our order wasn't taken until maybe 10-15 min after we were seated. I ordered the sweet cream French toasted while my group ordered other breakfast items. All of the serving sizes were huge, especially for what you pay for. I barely finished my French toast. It was very good in the begging but after a while, the sweet cream became a little too much and the warm strawberries were really throwing me off. My friends ordered some pressed breakfast burritos, which one came out pretty luke warm while the other one piping hot. The food seems to be made with fresh ingredients. I loved the flavors of everything I ordered. The staff were really nice. Our server went out of her way to provide what we needed (for example, offered a to go cup for my left over coffee and offered salsa for my eggs). Staff smiled which may seem irrelevant, but it makes a difference -it upgrades the vibe. The ambiance was nice; it has a country feel. My son said it reminded him of Radiator Springs from Cars. First timer here! We were there on a Sunday we thought the wait was going to be long but within 10 minutes we were seated. The waiter was very quick taking out order and brought out food fast. The ice coffee is not good at all. I had the chicken and waffles, and the chicken is good and crunchy. The waffle to my pallet is too thick. I like a thinner waffle. Wow, this used to be our go to breakfast joint when we lived in town because the food and service was great. Came through town and we were thoroughly disappointed. In the. Words of my daughter "This used to taste like grandmas home cook in' now grandma order out." My husbands eggs were cold, as was his gravy which had no flavor. The kids said their burgers were bland. The fries were good though. On the flip side, the server was pleasant and made and the ambiance was quiet, probably because we rolled in at 0600. Over all this place is just ok. Takeout orders can be placed at the corner of the bar, and there was no wait to order on a Sunday morning. It was loud inside the cafe/restaurant, like any busy diner. But the wait for our order to be ready was only about 10 minutes. Wonderful service, super friendly, and efficient. The staff here seemed to be working hard. And those burritos were filled with delicious, freshly made ingredients, you could taste the quality, the ground sausage, scrambled eggs, melted cheese, hashbrowns, the salsa and sour cream on the side created the perfect flavor combination, it was so filling. I ordered breakfast, and it was absolutely delicious! The food was full of flavor, the portion sizes were generous, and everything was cooked perfectly. I also got a side of pancakes, which were amazing. Although Luis wasn't our waiter, I really appreciated him asking if I preferred warm or room-temperature syrup when I requested some. HIGHEST POSSIBLE RATING to Cahoots. We are a Berkeley family who goes to Camp Tuolumne, and this is where we eat breakfast on the drive there and where we have lunch on the drive home. The food is unbelievably good. Their breakfast items are off the hook - I love the breakfast burrito and the bananas foster French toast - and their lunch burgers, fries, sandwiches, tacos - honestly everything here is amazing! The staff is super friendly and accommodating of all requests, and one server even did a magic trick with a pen to entertain our kids! We so appreciate Cahoots and hope we get to dine here on our way to and from camp for many, many years to come. Stopped in on a Wednesday morning and was surprised by how busy it was for a weekday. We were greeted right away and seated at the counter. The staff was incredibly friendly and multiple servers checked on us throughout the meal, which made the experience feel even more welcoming. The chilaquiles were outstanding! On January 18th, I visited Cahoots in Oakdale with my girlfriend and a few friends. Everything started off fine until we ordered waters and coffees. When the server came out with our drinks, she was clearly in a rush and ended up spilling them all over one of my friends. My friend had to leave and change clothes -- luckily he had a spare outfit in my truck. Staff did clean up the mess and apologized, which we appreciated, but that's where the good service ended. There was no attempt to comp or even discount my friend's meal after the incident. He was still charged full price. Accidents happen, but how a business handles them matters. In this case, it didn't feel like they cared much about making it right. Not sure this establishment understands how to properly take care of its customers. read more
