This review is for my experience on Feb 1st. I came in for brunch and was greeted by multiple friendly staff. Had to wait about an hour for a table but it was so worth it. While you wait, they do have a self serve water & coffee station outside, so I thought that was excellent customer service right there. The man that took our order was friendly and gave us his recommendations. The young boy who brought our food was very friendly and had a big smile on his face. I could tell he was happy doing what he does, I believe his name was Ezequiel. When I asked him about two plates he brought out to the people at the table behind us, he very politely told me what they were and said for us to come back and try it. I definitely will! All the food looks delicious, and certainly was delicious! With the perfect amount served too. I never would have imagined chilaquiles would be good at a business with this name, but to my surprise, they were very flavorful. Delicious and Fresh! Found this place via yelp and saw nothing but good reviews. Came here with my family and they were absolutely packed! We decided to wait because when a place is packed, it's for a reason, and let me just say, it was definitely worth the wait. Service and ambiance was very homely and kind. Food was brought out fast and it didn't disappoint at all! I got the steak and eggs and everything tasted so fresh. Really was a great meal to have. We also got the biscuits because that's what they're known for and those were the best biscuits I've had so far. I also tried the French toast and that was good too! Yep, they did it. They got a five star review. I can't think of a negative. Oh wait! Maybe a bigger mimosa glass. Lol. We did have a short wait. Not bad considering we came from Atwater. The food was delicious i had the steak and eggs. The steak was a medium rare. It was spot on, well seasoned. The country potatoes were some of the best I've ever had. I think it was the way they were cut, half moon shaped and crisp. It came with a biscuit. That was fluffy and the server did get me some gravy to go with it. Oh and the server was awesome!! She was on her game. And was super helpful in offering up her opinions on what to pick out of my wife and my decisions. So that was awesome. Ambiance was good. We knew it must be good when we got there and the parking lot was packed. Wouldn't normally wait 46 minutes for a table but really wanted to try it. Worth the wait! Had the classic breakfast and friend had the same with a pancake. Biscuits (as you would imagine given the name) were delicious! Coffee was great. Eggs were done perfectly, good selection tonight of fruit in the fruit side. But the bacon was delicious and fully cooked without being overcooked! Service was superlative! One word AWESOME! This place is like going to Grandma's. The food is fresh and well presented. No scimping here, with leftovers to take home. Very comfortable, relaxing place. The biscuits are out of this world delicious, fluffy and moist. The homemade strawberry jam is the best I've ever had, (sorry Mom and Grandma). I ordered the turkey and cranberry sandwich with fruit (even the fruit was perfect, fresh and flavorful) hubby had the chicken fried steak, absolutely delicious, so tender you didn't need a knife. We will definitely be back. This is what a good old fashioned restaurant should be, again, like going to Grandma's. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The restaurant and bathroom is very clean. We noticed the staff constantly on the move, checking on customers, cleaning the tables and sweeping spotless floors. Holy moly! This place is a gem. The ambience reminds me of a small mountain town. The service was great. Food was spot on. The peachy waffle is a special- waffle, sautéd peaches topped with perfectly fried chicken strips and a dollop of whipped cream. Perfect mix of sweet and savory. Chicken fried steak was amazing. This was my wife's and my second visit to this place. We had a very enjoyable experience. We showed up close to closing, which is at 3 PM. We were immediately greeted by one of the staff members who seated us promptly. I have to say if for nothing else come and eat here because the staff members are all ultra friendly and inviting, and some of them are even comedians. Our server Veronica, Roni for short, was amazing! Not only was she super attentive and friendly, she also had a sense of humor. One of the comedians I was talking about. Roni was very accommodating and willing to bend over backwards to make sure we got everything we wanted just the way we wanted it. Both my wife and I decided to venture out of our normal comfort zone go-to breakfast and try something new on the menu. My wife went with the Chilaquiles with green sauce and I ordered a Cali Cowboy omelet. Omelets are not my first choice for breakfast, but like I said, we wanted to order outside of our normal go-to. The Chilaquiles was your standard fare. However, the chips remained crisp and not soggy. And the flavor was delicious with a little bit of heat. The Cali Cowboy Omelette was stuffed with Tri Tip bell peppers, onions and topped Swiss cheese and sliced avocado. Also delicious. The Swiss cheese was a substitute for Monterrey Jack. I would order it again if I were to choose an Omelette. My wife said she would also order the chilaquiles again. All in all, it was a great experience, and my wife, said that "we should become regulars here and get to know all the people." I am not kidding when I say everyone on the staff is inviting, friendly, and some are even comedians. The food is delicious, friendly accommodating staff, large and spacious dining area. I visited Biscuit Basket today with my family. While the food was good, our experience was negatively impacted by the service we received from our waitress, Emily. Her demeanor toward our table appeared annoyed and unwelcoming throughout the visit. I requested coffee creamer but never received it and had to ask another staff member instead. She also did not check back with our table to see if we needed drink refills or anything else during our meal. Overall, the service felt inattentive and unprofessional, which detracted from an otherwise enjoyable experience. I've been here a few times now, and I keep wanting to come back. The staff are very friendly and hospitable, giving good energy. I love how their food is fresh and majority of it is made in-house (they make fresh orange juice and salsa). The only reason I'm putting 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the lack of seating for those waiting. It can get very busy to where multiple parties are waiting (there aren't many breakfast places in Modesto and they currently have only so many tables - they are expanding at the moment, though). The traditional Eggs Benedict was excellent. I got it served on a biscuit instead of an English muffin, with a side of fruit. I was pleasantly surprised with the side of fruit (usually restaurants try to stick you with honeydew and cantaloupe or oranges, etc.) but theirs came with watermelon, strawberries, cherries, and white nectarines!
