Tasty breakfast! I was lucky to get a table at Country Skillets on a packed Sunday morning. All but two tables were taken. They offer a wide variety of country/old-fashioned breakfast and lunch items. I ordered the Denver omelet with hashbrowns and a biscuit with gravy. The omelet came out piping hot with perfectly diced and crunchy bell peppers. The ham had a nice flavor and crispness. I really enjoyed the flavor of the gravy. It had the perfect amount of pepper in it and wasn't overly runny. The biscuits however were a bit hard, almost as if they had come out of a can. The hashbrowns were mushy to me. The coffee also came out warm at best. They were not crispy and were slightly soggy. The food is a little pricy but the portions are large. Country Skillets is decorated like a Hobby Lobby. It is super cute and pretty intimate. It is definitely loud and a tad crowded. Our server was nice and brought out food out very quickly despite it being busy. She came by frequently to offer refills and bring napkins. After you receive your bill at the table, you pay at the front counter. I love restaurants like this because it definitely saves time! I would definitely come back and try some more of their menu! read more

A friend I don't get to see very often and I met here for lunch. The place was quiet and didn't have a lot of customers, for some reason. The restaurant was clean and cute, but could use a little updating. I ordered the Asian chicken wrap, and it was huge, I could only eat half. It was tasty and nicely made. The price was reasonable and the server was attentive. Although it's a bit of a drive for me, I'll definitely come back. read more

When I get to go out to Breakfast(which is not a lot) this is where i go. I have never been disappointed with the food and service. One of the few places you can get linguica, which is excellent. This is a great breakfast joint if you live or visit the Ripon area. The interior has a homely vibe to it. They have bathrooms for men & women. They are open daily from 530am-230pm. Every time I have visited, I have been immediately greeted and seated. The wait staff in my experience has been great. It doesn't take long for someone to come by to introduce themselves and offer beverages while browsing the menu. The service has always been great from beginning to end. I typically order an omelette when I visit, but they have all the foods you would come to expect from places like this. There are a bunch of photos on yelp depicting the different foods and menu options. My opinion is their pricing is pretty fair for the quality of food. For the seniors (55 and up), they have a senior section in the menu with slightly discounted pricing. Every time we eat there our food is never the same. The first time we got Chicken fried steak and eggs. We were amazed on how big the chicken fried steak was. The second time we ate there, the steak wasn't as big. We ate there on 3/21 and the steak was half the size it was from the first time. We also got over charged on 2 orders. I went in to fix it and the manager was not nice, never apologized and quite frankly, was really rude. She inidicated it was my fault and that basically I wasn't listening. She kept asking me what do I want her to do, not very nice like and then also kept saying she couldn't fix my bill? I was confused as to what she wanted me to say. At the end she gave me not quite the difference and said she would never do it again. We will never go back, regardless of how good the food was, she ruined it for us. Living down the street from this location I am a frequent customer. Came in last weekend for the last time. You can ascertain based on the sign on the window that they are hiring year round. I would guess that is because no one wants to work with the older server. Walked in and the restaurant was busy but not packed. We were not acknowledged or told to sign our names on anything. The server who is always there walks past us multiple times with no direction although there are many open tables. My wife finally walks up to the server with tattoos that ends up letting us know we can have a seat. Waited there for a while and could see other customers visibly irritated. We're then asked to move which is no problem at all. The other server consistently gave us dirty looks and I could hear her yelling at her coworker about our table specifically and how we sat down without being on the list. Obviously with a tone and volume meant for us to hear. She is always rude and uninviting. To be clear the younger lady with tattoos who took our table was fantastic. Service from her was on point and the food was delicious. Won't be returning because of the disrespectful and poor service provided by the other server. read more

Stop by this place today because I was in the neighborhood and was very disappointed. Ordered food saw people coming after us got their food and was almost done . mention it to the waitress. We live about an hour away and we're in town for baseball purposes for our son and we decided to try this place out. The ladies all greeted us and we're very friendly as soon as we came in, they were attentive through the whole meal which I appreciated. The food was amazing! The gravy on the country skillet had me in love and the potatoes were cooked and seasoned perfectly, My son had the French toast and eat every bite. They are very giving on portion sizes. Visited Country Skillets for the first time. I will say that my family and I will return should we be in the area. The food had good flavor. The biscuit under the gravy was a bit over cooked. The heat of the gravy did soften the middle portion of the biscuit, but both the top and bottom crust were tough to cut. The French Toast was delicious, light and fluffy. It was a good compliment to the savory flavors from the Portuguese Skillet. There were no complaints from the BLTA (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato and Avocado) or the Breakfast Burger. I could not in good conscience score a 5th star solely based on the service. The restaurant was neither overly packed, nor short staffed. The level of attention paid to the Customers could have been better. My Son was originally brought the wrong order. In all fairness the waitress did rush the correct order so that his meal was not too far behind my wife's and my meal. I hope that our next visit will be better. We were in Ripon for my son's soccer tournament and had a free morning to grab some breakfast. I Yelped (of course) and found this place. Yay!!! We were seated quickly and our beverages were brought out to us just as fast. Between all of us we ordered a hamburger and fries, pancakes, an omelette, and french toast. OMG. OMG.OMG. Drove up from Modesto to give this place a try. I saw lots of beautiful pictures of all the different dishes. I've never been here before so this was my first time. I ordered the country skillet as seen in some of the pictures. However mine did not come on a skillet. At Best, this is what I call mediocre cafeteria food. The biscuits and gravy did not have the flavor that you would expect. The potatoes that's another story. The sausage taste is it been frozen and quickly thawed out. The portion sizes are fabulous! They are huge! No complaints there. The server did not come to ask me how things were with my meal. They didn't offer to refill my coffee until I was done eating. The place was not packed at all. I was so disappointed. I look at pictures first before I go places that gives me an idea of having a good culinary experience. When I go to a place, I want to leave four or five stars.
