Back when I worked for the City of Manteca, they frequently catered our events, and the food was always something to look forward to. My coworkers and I also made it a tradition to visit the restaurant about once a month for breakfast or brunch, and it never disappointed! The food is absolutely delicious, with a fantastic variety of options to choose from. You can tell there's real care and attention put into what they serve. The staff has always been incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which makes the experience even better. Now, I'll admit, it's definitely on the pricier side, but in my experience, the quality of the food, the selection, and the wonderful service make it worth every penny. Apparently they only have mimosas for private parties. We just watched them put all of the mimosa bar stuff away but they told me they don't serve mimosas. We wouldn't have come here if we knew that, considering there is mimosas in the pictures. Other than that, cute place if you don't mind serving yourself, including water and lemonade. The staff was super nice but the food was mediocre. The biscuit was really dry and a tad hard. The sausage is Italian Sausage and it seemed pink in the middle. The gravy has sage in it. Since moving to Manteca, we've tried going to the restaurant a few times and between the limited hours, waiting list, outside seating, and now mostly Keto diet we had given up on giving Besito's a try. Being limited on what I could order, I ended getting their special steak and a salad and assumed it would be meh. Instead the steak was so tender, flavorful and juicy that I didn't feel like I was missing out by not having a waffle. I forgot my phone so no photos. read more

If you don't know how this restaurant works, you're seated, provided with a menu thereafter you walk up to the kiosk to place your order with the attendant. We are familiar with the menu. And ordered the famous chicken n waffles, Chilaquiles, Eggs Benedict, Carnitas french fries, and the infamous drunken monkey French toast. This is definitely a shareable dish packed with flavor. Unfortunately, I found what appeared to be a beard hair (or similar hair type) in my food. It was clearly embedded in the meal, so there was no question that it had come from the kitchen. Needless to say, it completely ruined my appetite. I understand that mistakes can happen in any restaurant, but proper food handling and hygiene are essential. Finding a hair like this is not only unpleasant but also raises concerns about kitchen cleanliness and food safety. I genuinely hope this was an isolated incident and that the restaurant takes it as an opportunity to reinforce sanitation and hair restraint practices in the kitchen. When I saw crab benny on their special, I was excited because I have studied their menu while I was researching for a good benedict spot months ago and it was a let down. They use imitation crabs...come on. What? Maybe I should have asked but all the places I have eaten used real crabs. It didnt come with an English muffin and instead 4 bacon. Maybe others would have preferred the bacon but nope, not for me. Potatoes were crispy but tasted oily for me. Salad was good. I tried my friend's waffles and I wasnt as fan. We also ordered a waffle and bacon for the kids, but the whipped cream that was supposed to accompany it was forgotten. Service was another area that fell short of expectations. Guests are required to walk up and place their own orders, then wait for the food to be brought out. For a restaurant that presents itself as a more upscale dining experience, I was expecting traditional table service. Overall, it was still a pleasant experience, and I'm glad I gave it a try. Very disappointing experience I don't usually leave reviews, and I genuinely enjoy supporting small businesses, but I feel it's important to be honest about my experience. My husband and I visited for a special occasion and were really looking forward to our meal. Unfortunately, we left very disappointed. I have extensive experience with the food industry, so I feel confident recognizing the difference between fresh, properly prepared food and food that does not meet that standard. We ordered almost everything on the menu. The waffles were rubbery, and the chicken was even more disappointing. The drinks tasted watered down, and the coffee was not good. I was told the coffee was Colombian ( or some other south America country) but based on my experience with coffee, it certainly did not taste like quality Colombian/ etc coffee, but Folgers. There was also a hair in my food, which was especially concerning from a cleanliness standpoint. The one thing I can give them 100% credit for is presentation. The dishes looked beautiful and were presented very well. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and the overall dining experience did not match the presentation. The eggs, however, were excellent. They were cooked perfectly and prepared exactly as I requested. We also found the service and atmosphere disappointing. The owners came across as though they were unhappy to be there, which affected the overall experience. I also read some of the other one-star reviews and was disappointed by some of the responses from the owner. Constructive criticism is part of running a restaurant. Customers should be able to share an honest experience without feeling like they are going to be criticized or lectured for doing so. Professional responses to criticism are important, especially in a customer-service business. I'm writing this review because I believe customers deserve to know what they can expect. Food was ok. Nothing special. My French toast was rubbery. Eggs were good. Came out cold. No specialty coffees. No real juice. And the flies liked the food more than we did. Could NOT get away from them. The order taker wanted a tip before we even got our SELF SERVE drink. And the final insult? Not one person came to check on us. NOT ONE! Not worth it at all. For breakfast items like waffles and French toast, I was expecting something fresh off the waffle maker or pan. 4. What really affected the experience most was the strong unpleasant odor in the outdoor seating area. What a cute little spot nestled in downtown Manteca! We visited on a Sunday afternoon for brunch and were pleasantly surprised with our service. The restaurant has an order and then sit down style which was great because you don't feel rushed when trying to figure out what to order. Once you order, there are workers constantly checking on your filling up your water and asking if you need anything. I am not sure how the tipping works since you pay before, but all of those waiters/waitresses deserved a little tip! We enjoyed our food. The only thing I didn't like too much was my iced coffee. My partner and I visited Besitos on our way to golf and were not disappointed! We were sat quickly and provided menus. The water and lemonade are self serve and you order and pay at the counter. Servers will seat you and deliver your food/boxes. It was all very efficient! We ordered the bacon n waffle and chicken n biscuit special with a side of eggs. Everything was tasty and a great value with huge portions. Even the side of eggs came with a little bit of sautéed veggies. Seating is outside only but they have plenty of umbrellas and fans around. The person I was with got the stuffed French toast which tasted fantastic. Overall I wouldn't say it's terrible . I would just say avoid chicken and waffles and lean toward something that's got some type of sauce, cream cheese, or something . I was a little shocked that we waited 30 min for a seat another party of 2 . While Larger parties of 5 and 7 came and were sat immediately. Is this place still open? Called multiple times, it was saying that the line is no longer active. When we arrived at the front door it was locked and the inside looked dead. There was a review that said you had to go to the back to eat at the restaurant but I just gave up. Honestly if that's the case why have a storefront and since you have a storefront you might want to put up signs that says go to the back for restaurant access or something. read more

First and last visit unfortunately and my hopes were high. My husband ordered Huevos Rancheros. I ordered THE BEST Chicken and Waffles. Both were awful. Not sure if the green sauce on top is homemade, but there was A LOT of overpowering cumin. The potatoes looked and tasted old or they were sitting under a heating lamp for too long. The ketchup it came with, didn't taste right. Like oily and off tasting. The tortilla was upsetting cause you can visually see that it wasn't good and you still plated it. Say you don't care without saying you don't care. My dish, the chicken breast was soo tough. If you're going to use breast, you need to brine it or just not over cook it. It was difficult to swallow it was soo dry. The coating had a good flavor, but salty. The waffle....was very difficult to cut with my knife. It was chewy and not good. I asked for butter and honey on the side. They forgot the butter. I asked for butter again and when she brought it out, it was straight from the fridge. Hard and cold. Please tell me, would anyone try to put hard butter on a waffle or pancake? Loved the atmosphere, it's outdoor seating only it seems, but trim your bushes and trees. We had to adjust our table because the bougainvillea branch was poking my husband's head. Don't expect to be served other than them delivering your food. You go to the podium and place your order and it's weird to ask for a tip when you haven't received service yet. They have FREE self serve water and lemonade. My husband went to the podium and asked for to-go boxes and was asked how the food was and he gave his honest opinion. He walked away, and they stood there talking to eachother and someone came out from the inside after being told about his comment, made eye contact with him, but didn't come to talk to him. We also had to walk around to our car parked on Yosemite, passing the main entrance/kitchen, and they still didn't stop us to talk to us. I'm not sure where the 5 star reviews are coming from. I truly believe that there can be off days, but after reading others 1 star reviews, I believe this is common complaint and they still haven't adjusted the menu. Came here for the first time with some friends. I've had this on my bucket list for the longest time. When I first tried to come the hours were different on Yelp compared to online and in person. The entrance is also in the back and not on the street. Last Sunday, I finally came when they were open and I ordered the chorizo tacos. They were huge and very good. My friends ordered the pb&j French toast and said it was delicious. We also ordered the biscuits and gravy but the gravy was not that seasoned. Love having brunch here on the weekends! The ambience is so lovely and the food is delicious! The owners of this restaurant are passionate about food and feeding people. They go to great lengths to make sure our homeless community is fed, the senior community and our veterans. They are so generous in giving back. Besitos is an easy recommendation! I stumbled across Besitos purely out of proximity, but I'm very glad I did. The space is very cute and quaint. It actually looks like it belongs in SF more than Manteca, lol. The staff was friendly. I will say the ordering process wasn't explained to my date and I so it took us a second to figure out we had to walk up and order. Everything on the menu sounded great. My date's and my order were both AMAZING! Take a look at the picture of my french toast. To die for! We had Besitos cater for a small party last minute. Charles and his team went above and beyond for us! They were incredibly responsive, approachable, and affordable ! The food was talk of party and everyone kept asking where we ordered from. The parfait and French toast was a particular hit with the children.
