Another great culinary experience! We arrived 20 minutes before opening and there was a line before open. If you don't know how this restaurant works, you're seated, provided with a menu thereafter you walk up to the kiosk to place your order with the attendant. We are familiar with the menu. And ordered the famous chicken n waffles, Chilaquiles, Eggs Benedict, Carnitas french fries, and the infamous drunken monkey French toast. This is definitely a shareable dish packed with flavor. The restaurant offers free coffee and a water , lemonade drinking station. A very cozy, family friendly restaurant with limited seating so be sure to arrive early. First and last visit unfortunately and my hopes were high. My husband ordered Huevos Rancheros. I ordered THE BEST Chicken and Waffles. Both were awful. Huevos rancheros, the tortilla was like the tortillas were left out on the counter from the night before. Even after my husband asked if they were fried. Not sure if the green sauce on top is homemade, but there was A LOT of overpowering cumin. The potatoes looked and tasted old or they were sitting under a heating lamp for too long. The ketchup it came with, didn't taste right. Like oily and off tasting. The tortilla was upsetting cause you can visually see that it wasn't good and you still plated it. Say you don't care without saying you don't care. My dish, the chicken breast was soo tough. If you're going to use breast, you need to brine it or just not over cook it. It was difficult to swallow it was soo dry. The coating had a good flavor, but salty. The waffle....was very difficult to cut with my knife. It was chewy and not good. I asked for butter and honey on the side. They forgot the butter. I asked for butter again and when she brought it out, it was straight from the fridge. Hard and cold. Please tell me, would anyone try to put hard butter on a waffle or pancake? Loved the atmosphere, it's outdoor seating only it seems, but trim your bushes and trees. We had to adjust our table because the bougainvillea branch was poking my husband's head. Don't expect to be served other than them delivering your food. You go to the podium and place your order and it's weird to ask for a tip when you haven't received service yet. They have FREE self serve water and lemonade. My husband went to the podium and asked for to-go boxes and was asked how the food was and he gave his honest opinion. He walked away, and they stood there talking to eachother and someone came out from the inside after being told about his comment, made eye contact with him, but didn't come to talk to him. We also had to walk around to our car parked on Yosemite, passing the main entrance/kitchen, and they still didn't stop us to talk to us. I'm not sure where the 5 star reviews are coming from. I truly believe that there can be off days, but after reading others 1 star reviews, I believe this is common complaint and they still haven't adjusted the menu. When I saw crab benny on their special, I was excited because I have studied their menu while I was researching for a good benedict spot months ago and it was a let down. They use imitation crabs...come on. What? Maybe I should have asked but all the places I have eaten used real crabs. It didnt come with an English muffin and instead 4 bacon. What a cute little spot nestled in downtown Manteca! We visited on a Sunday afternoon for brunch and were pleasantly surprised with our service. The restaurant has an order and then sit down style which was great because you don't feel rushed when trying to figure out what to order. Once you order, there are workers constantly checking on your filling up your water and asking if you need anything. I am not sure how the tipping works since you pay before, but all of those waiters/waitresses deserved a little tip! We enjoyed our food. The only thing I didn't like too much was my iced coffee. My partner and I visited Besitos on our way to golf and were not disappointed! We were sat quickly and provided menus. The water and lemonade are self serve and you order and pay at the counter. Servers will seat you and deliver your food/boxes. It was all very efficient! We ordered the bacon n waffle and chicken n biscuit special with a side of eggs. Everything was tasty and a great value with huge portions. Even the side of eggs came with a little bit of sautéed veggies. Seating is outside only but they have plenty of umbrellas and fans around. The breading on the chicken also fell apart the moment I cut it, so I was just getting bites of plain chicken with the waffle. The dishes were all very filling but truthfully not that good. SERVICE: Service is amazing. The waiters were very attentive and offered us a cap for our champagne bottle so we could take it out, which I thought was very nice of them. They go to great lengths to make sure our homeless community is fed, the senior community and our veterans. They are so generous in giving back. Came here for the first time with some friends. I've had this on my bucket list for the longest time. When I first tried to come the hours were different on Yelp compared to online and in person. The entrance is also in the back and not on the street. Last Sunday, I finally came when they were open and I ordered the chorizo tacos. They were huge and very good. My friends ordered the pb&j French toast and said it was delicious. We also ordered the biscuits and gravy but the gravy was not that seasoned. We had Besitos cater for a small party last minute. Charles and his team went above and beyond for us! They were incredibly responsive, approachable, and affordable ! The food was talk of party and everyone kept asking where we ordered from. The parfait and French toast was a particular hit with the children. I've never seen them so happy to eat fruit and dive into it like it was dessert. The carnitas tray was cleaned out by adults within minutes. It actually looks like it belongs in SF more than Manteca, lol. The staff was friendly. I will say the ordering process wasn't explained to my date and I so it took us a second to figure out we had to walk up and order. Everything on the menu sounded great. My date's and my order were both AMAZING! Take a look at the picture of my french toast. To die for! Been wanting to come here for months but the hours are hard to follow for me. On the weekends we like to sleep in then by the time we wake up and get ready they are about to close. Finally found the time to come by since we had left a friends house at an early time. I came the day before on the busy street side and was lucky the owner answered the door. She said mornings on the weekends are their schedule and that the back side is the entrance near a lot of parking. During the weekdays they serve meal prep that you would have to order ahead on. I have a love of this place yet have some roadblocks to 'get over' with how the restaurant functions. We've been here a couple times, and truly love the outdoor dining, the impeccably friendly service, and of course their brunch menu food is really good. Not to mention how much food you get when you order. For me personally, it's kind of obscene how much you get. Yes, it's a lot for your money, but I just can't eat all that... (that's a personal comment, as I am sure there are others who want as much as possible). Food presentation is beautiful too. I think my mother likes to just look at her plate, and not eat what's on it. These are all the wonderful things about Besitos that I love love love. On the downside for me, this is a very small patio set up, and they do not take reservations. Since I come with my elderly parents, it makes it difficult for them to wait for a shaded table. I typically have them wait in the car until a table opens up. I don't like that. They have a counter with water and lemon aid or other fruit drink. But, it is all self service. There is also another counter for ordering/paying for your meals. Then get your number and go back to your table. They will then bring out the food to your table from the kitchen. IMHO, for the $20-$30 per person price point, there should be a server taking your orders once you have sat down at your table you waited for. Next is the annoying flies throughout the time we are there. Not sure what is going on, but it really destroys your enjoyment of dining when you and your food are constantly being attacked by pesky flies. Overall: I give Besitos 4-5 for food and service But knock it way down due to the overall restaurant function and the annoying flies. read more

The service was good and the staff were very kind. I was unimpressed with the food and unimpressed with the self serve drinks and self serve utensils. Although the outdoor seating was nice, it was very cold and the heaters were not on. We ordered a chicken and French toast and the chicken felt very dry. We also kept finding strands of hair in our food which was excessive and ultimately gross and made the rest of our meals unappetizing.
