I stopped by this brunch spot since I happened to be in town. It's a nicely decorated restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere, and my waitress was very friendly. I ordered the steak and eggs with country potatoes, wheat toast, and coffee. The steak was unfortunately very thin and lacked seasoning or flavor. The country potatoes were just okay. The biggest issue was the coffee service. I was given coffee when I sat down, but refills were slow. I eventually had to let another server know I needed more because my waitress hadn't come back. To be fair, she did return shortly afterward, but by then another server had already taken care of me. Despite that, she was pleasant throughout my visit and even offered me a bottle of water for the road, which I appreciated. Overall, the service was friendly, but the food and attentiveness could use some improvement read more

This place is the cutest!! I came here for a girls brunch and it exceeded my expectations. The cocktails were allll super delicious and cute insta worthy! The quesabiirra tacos were also very good. I don't usually go out for breakfast/brunch, but I was going to a church just a few hundred feet away and I have been to Johnny's a couple of times and that other place by the high school. I was greeted after a moment, just after 8:30 when there was only one server working. Two others arrived probably 15 minutes later. It really wasn't much different inside than when it was Johnny's. I even sat at the counter. It feels renewed, not renovated. Having a drink menu at 8:30 in the morning seemed more "Breakfast at Tiffany's" than I considered, even though I knew that they had such a menu. I think I spent too much time thinking about that. I ended up ordering Chorizo & Eggs. That's a first time for me. I was thinking that I spent almost a week in Monterrey, NL, and I couldn't remember anything I ate. The hotel restaurant had Spanish food, and that was 1977. With a name like Querencia (hangout/haunt), I had to try a Mexican breakfast. When the food arrived, she told me that the tortillas would take an extra moment. I asked something silly: "is there a special way to eat the meal?", especially since everything comes with tortillas. She was kind and helpful. The Chorizo & Eggs didn't look as appetizing as I expected it would. The good thing was that it was more like grandma cooked than having a chef. Tell me that you don't like grandma's cooking more. Come on. With the orange juice, it was about $28 and 22% tip put it over $34. We got breakfast to go from Querencia recently during our trip to Great Wolf Lodge. At first glance of the menu, I thought it was pricey but soon found out what a great deal this place was. A Belgian by itself is expensive! But you can add an American style bacon and eggs breakfast for an additional $5. A breakfast scramble alone is expensive, but you can add pancakes for something like $5 more, and they are HUGE! Wash it down with some Cafe de Olla. The workers were super nice - i arrived before my food was ready and the worker offered me a seat and ice water. Another worker offered to help me bring my bags of food out to the car. Lots of parking available and okay service. There were only two servers working this day so they had their hands tied. My friend and I took a minute to order because we hadn't seen each other in a while. The sever approached us about 4 times asking if we were ready before we finally looked at the menus to order. The server was patient and friendly. Towards the end of our experience it started to get really hot inside. Food was good but I honestly thought it would have been better based off of some videos I saw online. I ordered the bacon and egg tacos which came with hash browns and two small sides of salsa. I didn't eat much of the tortillas. I had to remind the staff that I was my missing hash browns. Once I received them they were really crispy and delicious! My friend ordered the verde chilaquiles with both chorizo and steak. We had to remind the staff of the missing steak. Drinks were good but you could tell this place is known for their mimosas. I came back to finally try the Shrimp Miche!! It was so delicious and I can't wait to come back for it with friends. Service was great as usual but I hope they add another server soon because they get really busy early. It also looked like they added extra decor for cinco de mayo yesterday so they keep up with the ambiance. Another employee mentioned they will soon add outdoor seating in the future. This is one of my favorite spots in Manteca to have Brunch after Church. It is family owned and ran and holy smokes the food will make you praise the Lord a second time in the morning! Their is something I have been doing lately as a reviewer. Not eating the same dish twice. That way I have more items to review and I try to take pictures when I can so you can see the food that I eat. When when I get here, I get so caught up in excitement just to eat I forget but this time I got some for you. I have had their skillet, eggs, omelet, chilaquilas and I know that may be spelled wrong but you know what I meant. This time I had the Taco Salad it was the first time I ventured into the non breakfast foods. Breakfast is always a 10 this was a 9.5 only because I expected tortilla slivers on top instead of American croutons and more salsa and maybe a spicy avocado drizzle as an added flavor boost. But those are all personal preferences like salt or pepper ya know! This was my first time here since it's been Querencia and it was very yummy! Our server was super nice and attentive. My 3.5 year old daughter was there asking lots of questions and she was being very sweet to her. The portions are giant, my mil and her mom shared a meal and I took half of mine home. I love the biscuit to gravy ratio for my meal, and it was packed with flavor but both of our meals were cold. That is the only complaint that I have. I would definitely come again. read more

I've came into Querencia twice. First time was right after they opened and we had their Chilaquiles and they were good but spicier with each bite so it was hard to enjoy. You could tell they were super busy but doing their best to service everyone. We decided to give it another shot. We arrived and one of the waitresses told us if we could wait in the front entrance to give her time to clean up a table. We could visibly see 3 tables that had not been cleared yet. Another lady ended up saying excuse me to signal us it was ready and just slapped the menus on the table and walked away. Not a great start to the second time there. The cheeseburger wasn't very good. The patty had no flavor and it was definitely very basic. Barely any sauce added to it as well. The Chicken Avocado was good but the fries also needed to be cooked longer. They were still a little hard and not as warm. Needed to be crispier. They were also bland. As we sat waiting for our food another set of customers came in and had to wait for a table to be cleaned again. The photo of the main dining area is how it was the entire time we were there. I think they definitely needed a bus boy or someone helping them clean the tables so it didn't look so messy the entire time we were there. It's not a great look. We barely even got checked on or greeted well either. Seemed like the employees were tired and fed up unfortunately. Will not be coming back and do not recommend this spot. There is a lot of other cute brunch spots that go the extra mile for the experience. read more

This place opened at the old Johnny's. We came one rainy morning wanting to try their brunch offerings. I saw that the place were fully upgraded and everything's new. The place is well lit with booth, table and counter seatings. We were seated at their booth table which was spacious and comfortable. We both ordered coffee for our morning drink. I love that the smell of their coffee were so fragrant that it woke me up right away. I decided to order country fried steak with hash brown and eggs over easy. This was my go to breakfast food whenever I try a new place to see if I will come back to it again. Also ordered was their Q-brunch burger with onion rings and baked cheese for dipping. The country fried steak was battered nicely with the right amount of meat to batter portion. It was crunchy on the outside yet juicy on the inside. Their country gravy had tiny slices of breakfast sausage which add up to the flavor. It was a nice combination and just how I like my gravy, thick. Hash brown and eggs paired perfectly as well and with the toast to clean the plate with, yum! Q burger were juicy in every bite with the crunch of bacon to go with. It also had hash brown inside so that was a delightful surprise to our taste buds. The onion rings were also fried with the right amount if greasiness in it. This place were very inviting and the decor were very appealing to my senses. The only issue I have with them is that they need to put a mat on their doorways and wet sign since the day we went was a rainy day. They need to watch out for people slipping on their floors to avoid accidents. But other than that their service was excellent and prompt. They kept our coffee topped up and friendly service altogether. Definitely another place to keep coming back from. read more

Came here in the morning in a small group, was seated right away. Britney did a wonderful job with the drinks and giving us refills on our coffee. Food came out around the same time for everyone. Was not too busy on a Saturday morning. Plenty of seating all around the restaurant. Chicken fried steak was around 6-8 oz. Would have preferred country style gravy, but overall good. The chili verde omelette was definitely more food for its price. Our waters and coffees were topped off multiple times and we got extra napkins when the food came out. Listen hands down the best chilaquiles I have had outside of Mexico! I did the red sauce. It's creamy and just enough heat and spice. The spice level is enjoyable without you breathing fire! My husband had the country fried chicken. It was delicious! The gravy was creamy and had chunks of sausage! Rustic and homemade! That's what most restaurants are missing. Not this place! We arrived yesterday (Sunday) around 9:30 am and there were only a couple of people eating so plenty of tables. We were seated by a nice young man who also asked for our drink order. The menu has some american breakfast choices along with some mexican dishes. They also have a lof of waffles and pancakes to choose from. We ordered coffee and orange juice. For breakfast I ordered an omelette and my husband had the huevos rancheros. One note: Both of our egg dishes were cooked without salt. I am not sure if this is standard for them or if this was an error. Unfortunately adding salt after cooking eggs does not taste the same. The omelettes come with toast but my server did not tell me that hash browns were an option. While we were eating and a different server was helping the table next to us, she asked them if they wanted has browns with their omelette as a side. The huevos rancheros were OK. This is a new restaurant (used to be Johnnie's) and I think they have a few details to work out. The bathroom floor was very dirty (used toilet paper and hand towels on the floor) and the faucet in the ladies room had a loose handle. Our server never came to see our we were doing while we were eating and it was a little challenging trying to order. She kept making us repeat what we said as it seemed she was not getting what we were saying and then she would keep repeating it. The seat bench I was sitting on was loose and rocking. Again, I think just some growing pains but you could tell everyone was trying to do good and make people happy. read more

We came in on a Saturday about 2:00 and were promptly seated. There is a clean nice bright feel to the restaurant, and the air conditioning worked great as it was 100 out. The menu has a good selection for brunch, but the prices unfortunately are way too high. A cup of regular coffee is $5! We decided to share a meal since we had dinner later, so we chose the enchiladas suisas, one of my favorites. There were 3 small enchiladas, and the sauce was tasty but very runny. A tiny cup of beans and a scoop of rice accompanied all for $18.99!! I hope it lasts, but the pricing for what you get is very prohibitive with other Mexican restaurants close by. My husband had the churro waffle, he said he was so happy he could cry. It's only been here about a week and they have a lot of kinks to work out, but I'm sure they'll get there with the service. We both had mimosas which were delicious. I'm hoping that they will eventually have a full bar. Bloody Mary is on the menu but they aren't serving them yet. Came in to catch up with a few friends. This was a new try for all of us. First off, the place is clean. Service is quick and attentive. We weren't ready to order and the waitress not only gave us more time, but she also recommended some stuff, as well as answered questions about things we were interested in. I am not usually a fan of mimosas, but I've never had anything besides orange. After the recommendation, I gave the mango a chance and it was better than I expected. For lunch, I got the quesa Birria tacos. They were hot and fresh. Consume was good. Salsa could use a bit more spice, but it was still nice. The only con for me is the tight space in the parking lot. I notice that some people park there to walk to other nearby establishments, so pulling into a crowded lot off of Yosemite wasn't too easy, but doable.
