How many mexican restaurants (or ANY restaurant for that matter) have the chef come out and communicate with his customers????? NONE!!! The wait staff was fast, fantastic and definitely friendly. I ordered the Chilaquiles and my goodness!!! It was THE best chilaquiles I have ever had in ANY restaurant!!!!! The Verde sauce is waaaaay obviously made from scratch! Because you can taste the complex flavors in the sauce! The balance of the spices and the Tomatillos was perfect!!!! The Cotija cheese that was on top was absolute salty perfection! To top it off, 2 overeasy eggs. And when I broke the eggs, the yolk just slowly dripped into the dish in it's gooey perfection into the sauce! It was the most delicious, decadent thing i've eaten in years! Please don't move anywhere else! LOL! I have tried so many mexican restaurants out here that come to be "the best". I got the cinnamon churro pancake combo. Was very fluffy and not too over sugary (for my pallet at least). The eggs and ham were definitely admiring as well. We notice this cute place from our door dash account. We went on a weekday around brunch. I had the stuffed French toast combo and churro pancake combo. The place had a Texas feel. I'll definitely come back and refer some family and friends. Server was friendly and quick. Food came out fast and delicious. Portions were enough. This is my second time visiting this Breakfast/Lunch spot. I really want to say they knocked out of the park. However they have fallen short for the second time. The first time I ordered the Portuguese skillet and it had no Portuguese beans . I feel the reason is because it has linguica , "If you know You Know". It was average at best. This time I order the Red Chilaquiles. The presentation was fantastic, see photos. However just like the skillet it had no gas. Luke warm red sauce mixed with corn tortilla chips topped with two eggs and carnitas. It was average in taste again at best. Final thoughts. Texas is big and this place has a speck of Texas flavors. You walk into a diner that maximizes their space with tables almost up to the door (which while seeming crowded upon entry, can be nice for the purpose of slow on more crowded days. With a Texas/Western theme for the decor, you get a purposeful country breakfast selection on the menu. The country music I grew up on cycles through the restaurant (making it kind of hard to read since instead I sing to myself!) The music videos actually... just noticed the TV in the top corner near the windows. Between the biscuits and gravy and chilaquiles, the waitress suggested the latter, so of course that's the route I went. I added the tritip to my chilaquiles, and while I didn't dislike it by any means, I don't know that I felt it added any additional value to the dish. I'd probably do it without next time. My egg was perfectly runny as requested and the dish a beautiful mess when you broke into it, paired with the tasty salsa verde. The biscuits and gravy and the black bean burger are the next two things on my list to try here in the future! Lastly, you seem to go the counter to pay. For the amount they charged us for breakfast- over $50- I hoped for a better breakfast. The quality of their meats was mediocre as was the packaged county potatoes. Please note: You can't use the same batter mix for pancakes as you do for Belgian Waffles. My chicken was a formed patty and not pieces. The Central Valley area is growing so they need to do a lot better. I saw nothing Texas about it but the decor. Amazing atmosphere.. food is delicious.. quality of food is exceptional. The staff was very welcoming as soon as we stepped foot into the door. We were a party of three and seating was very nice. The booths were suitable for up to 6 people and tables were optional for larger parties. The whole decorations through the whole restaurant was well fitting foe the Texas theme. They had music that was appropriate and set a comfy vibe suitable for breakfast with friends. I had the Denver omelet and it was presented so beautifully and tasted amazing at the first bite. My sister had the chilequilles and you can just smell the fresh tortilla chips. Her green and red sauce were so good since she couldn't choose one the waitress suggested both. My neice had the kids meal chicken strips and fries that were garnished with a cute strawberry. The prices were reasonable as the portions were large! It takes a lot for me to not eat something and walk away. We ordered the chliqulies and the Texas Benedict. Our food was ice cold like not even warmed up and then cooled, almost like it was out of the fridge. The filet mignon tasted rancid. For my bf to not be able to stomach it, I had to try, it was horrible. We sent the meal back paid $25 for the few bites we tried to stomach (the server didn't even want us to pay because he felt bad) but we just left the money and walked out. The ONLY nice thing is that the owner came out and was very kind and refired a ribeye for him. The second one was delicious, but not the most convenient. We got sat pretty quickly in a table in the middle of the restaurant. It was pretty clean. Our waitress did mess up one of our drinks, but it wasn't life or death. The first thing I noticed were the prices, really high! About everything was $20 and over. I got the Denver Omelette and pancakes breakfast platter. The Denver omelette wasn't anything to write home about. It was decent, fresh veggies, and ham. The pancakes however were something to be less desired. They weren't fluffy and kind of tough to cut through with just a fork. Other than that a very mediocre restaurant. I would say you'd get more for your money going to a Denny's or IHOP. Not saying the taste will be or won't be better, it'll just be more reasonable upon paying. The place wasn't busy on a Tuesday morning around 10 am and we were seated right away. The service was fairly decent. We didn't sit around too long for our orders to be taken. Just hearing the name you would think oh this might be a bbq place but nope.
