Havana was our server. She seemed great at first. Pleasant, well spoken, and fast with our drinks. We guessed that her and another server didn't think that anyone could hear them but they kept talking about smoking their marijuana vape pens in the bathroom between bringing out people's food. What they do on their own time is up to them, but to be so openly blatant about it and giggling like children, was just very immature and unprofessional on her part. There are plenty of other restaurants in this town where employees keep their personal lives to themselves and wait until after work to use recreational substances... read more

After a long day of shopping at the St Augustine Outlets, we were ready for a feast. Mom called out the decision as between Cracker Barrel and Sonny's. the consensus was Sonny's would be quicker. WRONG!! Slowest service from a Sonny's in years. The food was dried out. It had obviously stayed in the window too long. The fries looked like they were either old, or cooked in old grease. The icing on the cake - the eggs from the salad bar had a bleach taste. Regardless of time, we will be going to the Cracker Barrel from now on. read more

Food was good, but service was extremely slow. The other location is a lot faster, so if your in a hurry go to the one on us 1

I love Sonnys had eaten at a different location earlier this week. Our server was Jake the table was sticky when we asked it to be wiped he explained how it may have happened. But I didn't ask just wanted it clean. Then we got our food everything was good. But when we asked for more wet naps he asked how many, we said a few, there was 3 of us, he brought two more. Asked for to go container, Jake asked if we wanted to go cups he said he could bring and if we needed he could top off but not bring a refill in a to go cups. New policy, location specific. The ladies room paper towel dispensers didn't work except in handicapped stall. But that stall had no soap or soap dispenser. Mens room was fine. read more

A solid, non local BBQ joint. If you have a hankering for BBQ you could definitely do worse. The salad bar is a must.

was in the mood for some bbq so i decided to try sonny's and was extremely disappointed. the water and coke products tasted gross, they ran out of sliced pork which i can understand, but when my chicken came out it was undercooked. the manger was super nice about and took my meal off but still very disappointing. read more

Sonny's BBQ - undercooked - Barbeque Near Me - St. Augustine, Florida

Food and service were beyond amazing. I would very highly recommend. We were a. Party of four and were seated immediately during a very busy time. The restaurant was very clean and the speed of their kitchen was exceptional. Our server was amazing. I was beyond impressed with the size of their drinks. Our server was delighted in fixing us four drinks to take with us. This place far exceeded my expectations. read more

Not a bad place to grab some BBQ. There wasn't really anything about the place that blew me away...ok well maybe one thing. Their baked beans were pretty damn good. The rest of my meal was just so-so. The sauces were more toward the sweet side, there wasn't a spicy sauce, which is really more like what I would've wanted. If your traveling down the interstate and you happen upon this place I wouldn't turn your nose up at it, but it's just gonna be a place to get some food and get back on the road. read more

What a wonderful place! We are from NY driving down to Disney and needed a place to stop and eat. We stumbled upon Sonny's BBQ and were instantly treated like we were regulars. We asked to sit outside so my son could watch the baseball game and they were overly accommodating. The food was delicious and plentiful. Our server was so attentive! I highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back on our way home. read more

The host was not very nice and service was slow. Waitress wasnt rude but she was stale and not very inviting. Food was good. Just like any other Sonny's. I just prefer that the staff be nicer to customers and treat them like customers and not a waste of their time. read more

It was ok, fast service but commercialized, next to the Outlet mall. Pulled pork was good but a little fatty. read more

Sonny's BBQ - Barbeque Near Me - St. Augustine, Florida

Chicken was tender and tasty, the beef brisket was a little dry they have a nice fresh salad bar. I should of had the pulled pork instead

I think this place is just ok, I had the beef brisket sandwich and I had it with the garlic bread. It was a little greasy. The next time I would get the sandwich on a bun. I ate half the bread and the beef on it's own. I like the favor of the BBQ and the beef was good. The service was very good. read more

I have frequented this Sonny's most probably and it's kinda gone downhill. The salad bar especially is inconsistent from one day to the next. I can never get a straight answer as to when they will have tuna on it! The barbecue & sides are good though! read more

New menu = price increase! 6.99 for a SANDWICH! Oh, but you can add fries and a drink for 2.00. Oh, but we are out of carbination, no soda so you can have tea!!!!!! I will never come back! read more

Chicken was tender and juicy, pork slices is dry. Sweet tea for drinks and portion is plenty.

Food was good. I had the pulled pork with Mac and cheese and French fries. Everything came out Luke warm. I finally flagged down the waitress to get some fresh fries. Service by our waitress was nonexistent. I saw other tables of hers suffering the same, while other tables with other servers were getting great service (checking back on food, refills, basically being available). I'll try again but will ask to NOT sit with what's her name...Veronica I think read more

There are only two restaurants with actual salad bars in St. Augustine. Sonny's and Ruby Tuesday's. As you make up your salad bar plate looking forward to some nice balsamic vinegar and real EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil, you come across clear, CHEAP vegetable oil and substandard vinegar. Do the owners of Sonny's put straight up Crisco on their salads at home or is it just good enough for us peasants who dare to indulge in their salad bar? Makes me wonder what else are they doing to cut corners. Next time I want a salad bar, I am sticking with Ruby Tuesday's across the street who have real extra virgin olive oil and decent balsamic vinegar as an option. The wait staff was excellent and we tipped accordingly since having sub standard ingredients within the salad bar is not in their control. Maybe it's just me, but passing off the same oil you use to fry your okra as Olive Oil is a total insult. Just shameful. There is enough of a profit margin within the price of their salad bar to easily fix this!! read more

The food was cold!!! when I told the waitress she looked at me crazy, Do you want a replacement? Really??? I said yes, THE REPLACEMENT WAS EVEN WORSE!!! What has happened to this place? read more

OMG! Salad bar was well stocked with a variety of veggies and fruit. Tuna salad was tasty. My company enjoyed their meals as well. I have recommended this place to friends visiting FL this week. read more

Still horrible. Got the babyback ribs tonight and they were burnt and dry, Absolutely my last time there! It's a shame because they are so close to my home. Will have to start going to Bonos. read more

We stopped by today because we love Sonny's. As far as the food goes, it was delicious, as usual, hence the three stars. However the service was very transactional. It seems like they sat all the tables coming in to one guy, so he seemed ti be inconvenienced any time we needed anything. When we left, there were 4 people standing at the to-go register and not a single one said thank you or even acknowledged us. Certainly not our usual experience, but it was our first time at this Sonny's. Perhaps they don't make friendly service a priority. read more

Went there today and not the best sonnys ever I asked for ribs and they gave me this respond "sorry we ran out" just think about that.

Stopped off I95 while traveling/driving with daughter (her return to graduate school, and I caught a next day AM flight back north) and we love BBQ and weren't disappointed ... the price was reasonable, the wait staff was exceptionally courteous and attentive, the salad bar was a surprise and quite plentiful, the BBQ sauces were varied and all were delicious with the pork ribs, roast turkey, pulled pork, broasted chicken and beef brisket ... I went with the salad bar and the sampler dish - bunches to eat. read more

Daniel the waiter was awesome, really nice young man. Meal was served on plastic tableware...yuk. As well as coffee cup...double yuk. Was was nothing special yet was expensive for what you got. I most likely will never go back. read more

Worst place I have ever been. Service sucked. Manager was very rude and did not wear a name tag much less didn't even look like an employee. We sat at the table for 20 mins waiting on the check and the manager was very rude. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

The booth seats are broken. I came in with my family sat down at the booth they told us to sit at and as soon as I sat the booth seat collapsed. I'm 5'2 and 110 lbs. So it wasn't a weight issue. The server said "Oh yeah....there are a few booths like this that need to be fixed". All the booths seats are ripped and torn. The staff was vacuuming the floor with a vacuum that had no handle. They were literally laying in the booth seats to push the bottom part of the vacuum and the crawling on the floor to push the vacuum. Of course I comment "it seems your boss may want to buy a new vacuum for yall". They said "the boss said we keep breaking them so she isn't buying any more". I ordered water with lemon and it taste HORRIBLE. I grew up drinking water from a garden hose which was better than this water. This place needs some SERIOUS help! read more

Will avoid this place. Service was terrible, was seated then waited, when we placed our order waited another 40 mins. When food came it was cold. The server looked busy but nothing was being done. The server i over heard her saying sorry to another table with group people. Talk to the manager a woman said she was sorry. Could not explain why people that were just there 10 min got there food already. Also the place was dirty I felt queazy (hope i don't become ill) in my stomach all afternoon. Our order was only the Big Deal lunch special. Trust me this is a big deal stay away. Was there around noon. read more

Delicious!! Maybe better than Texas BBQ‼‼That is saying a lot from this Texan‼okra prefect. Service friendly and fast.

I wish I could give this janky place zero stars. My family came to the area for va-ca and after a long day of sight seeing we were starving and excited to eat here. First, our waitress was was not very friendly, she couldn't even crack a smile. The place was a dump. The floors were dirty and just felt like it needed a good scrub down. The bathrooms were horrendous. When we got our food all of our food was cold. I got a pulled pork sandwich on their garlic bread. My first bite in actually scraped the roof of my mouth because it was so cold and tough like it had been sitting out all day. I then opened it to put sauce on it I noticed a bone! I then discovered many hunks of gooey fat in it. It was almost ratio to the actual meat. I ate a little over half but then told our waitress when she brought out check. I expected to pay for it but wanted them to know that it wasn't great and they have bones in their meat! She came back and said that her manager said sorry and gave us our same check. I was shocked that the manager didn't even come over and apologize himself or offer how they could make it right. Sonny himself would be ashamed to eat here. read more

This is the worst Sonny's I have experienced. We got takeout. Ordered several meals. For $60 we received about 6 ribs, 6 slices of brisket, about half a cup of chipped turkey, and a cup or more of sliced sausage. With this we received single servings of side dishes and NO garlic bread. I'm not even sure how to make a meal of what we received for 4 people. This is Sonny's. Why would you EVER not include garlic bread with the food? (Thanks for the 3 corn muffins. Next time, please send them to Cracker Barrel and give me the garlic bread I needed and wanted.). Yuck. read more

Let me begin by saying we love Sonny's! Every town we visit, we always try to go. However, this Sonny's is not up to par with the rest. We were seated quickly, but our waitress was very slow to come and get our drink order and give us menus. The waitress on the other side of the aisle was awesome. Quick to greet her customers and even spoke French to the folks next to us and used sign language with hearing impaired folks down from our table. Our waitress was slow and unfriendly and didn't have straws. She said she was going to get some, but did not return. When she finally came back and I asked for a straw she said I thought y'all got some. Clearly we did not. We ordered. Other people came in much later than us and sat on the "good side" and had their food way before us. Our waitress finally brought our food. I asked what took so long and she said they were slammed. I pointed out that others got their food much faster and she really acted like she didn't care. She never gave us drink refills and was just rude. The food wasn't great. The pork was over cooked. We will not stop at this Sonny's again. read more

Went to the Sonny's next to the outlet mall. For the first time last year. It was quite good. I got some takeout 1/19/15 and was disappointed. The food was cold by the time I got home.. ( a ten minute drive). The pulled pork was dried up and the muffin was soggy. No cinnamon butter either. Coleslaw tasted like it was out of a bag. Maybe everything tasted old because this is a holiday. The baked were very good. All and all, not worth the money ...$12.79. I hope the manager reads these reviews. read more

We went to get some to go food for my husband through the pickup window ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.! The woman in the window was doing twenty things at once and was taking care of customers over the phone rather than the ten people waiting for pickup, however she was nice and apologetic for the wait..standing behind her is several workers standing around doing nothing. One of the girls was getting ice for a costumers drink..she and another member of the staff were threatening to throw ice at one another infront of the guests. Absolutely unacceptable. Never going back to this location after the horrible experience and 45 minute wait. Love all other locations! read more
