Looking for lunch we found this restaurant. The expectations were high and we were nicely surprised by the level of service. Everything about this restaurant was wonderful. The southern decor and hospitality made the whole experience even nicer. During my visit the restaurant was clean and tidy, the menu was easy to understand and the combos were a great wait to try different meats. I ordered the 3 meats combo and it was delightful. The meats were phenomenal, rich in flavor and very tender. My favorite meat were the ribs. As for the drink I ordered a sweet tea. I was pleasantly surprised by the attentiveness of the staff members. This should be a must visit if you are in the area. I highly recommended to try all their meats, BBQ sauces, and biscuit!!!

The food was delicious! We were all very satisfied. The service was great, I loved that out of all the restaurants I went with my ESA, this one gave us an actual water bowl for my girl! The ambiance was chill, we sat outside because we had our dog and strollers so it was nice and spacious for a bigger group. Overall recommend when you're around the outlets and need a place to eat.

The staff are very good at this location. They provide quick service and make sure the orders come out correctly. They are real good about checking on your food once you receive it. Overall I think this is the best Sonny's in the area. Great deals on Wednesday in May.

Sonny's BBQ is always a great choice for some yummy bbq! I love to start with the corn nuggets and ranch dipping sauce (I got excited and ate half of them before I remembered to take a photo). I also love the turkey big deal combo. I like to deconstruct my sandwich to eat it. The garlic bread is buttery and I like the sweet sauce for my turkey. I also got the green beans and they had great flavor. The food came out super quick and we had great service in a comfortable atmosphere. This is a great place to "fuel up" before/after shopping at the Outlet Mall.

Becca was the best server I ever had, AMAZING! A+ SERVICE... My friend Duke is special needs and he really drooled all over himself for those chicken tenders

The food we got delivered was good. The onion rings in my husband's order were burnt and inedible. Do better. If we had ate there, they would have been redone.

    Seriously......what is this

I swear this is the worst BBQ I've ever had .. no bark on the brisket .. no pink smoke ring ... just grey and stiff sausage was bland.. no flavor no seasoning not even a smoke flavor .. The Mac and cheese is kraft or something Beans were okay ... Only thing remotely decent was the egg rolls .. 1/10 ... would never eat here again let alone recommend it to anyone else .. it should be a crime to serve this to people ..

Sweet Carolina - texas toast added a great crunch and buttery taste to contrast with the creamy coleslaw and tender saucy shreds of pork!

I drove over to Sonny's to meet a fellow partner for lunch today. Going inside, the interior had a cozy wood shack feel to it. For lunch, I ordered the Sweet Carolina sandwich - pulled pork with coleslaw on a bun or texas toast. Moving on with my review, the food overall was great! The texas toast added a great crunch and buttery taste to contrast with the creamy coleslaw and tender saucy shreds of pork! I felt the mac n cheese was good (didn't resemble kraft lol), but could use maybe some sort of pizazz. As for service, our server was extremely attentive throughout our meal! Overall, this was my first, and won't be my last time visiting Sonny's as it was a good experience! The final rating, for now, is 4/5. Next time I'd probably do the unlimited ribs for $15.99!

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

Antique, rustic, comfortable, and full of enough character that you almost feel like you've stepped 200 years back in time. Then the drinks arrive, and suddenly you realize you've been transported into the future of cocktails. I wish I could remember the name of the drink I ordered because it was spectacular. Whiskey, a little sweetness, mint, and crushed ice. That's about all I can tell you. What I can tell you is that I could have happily consumed about 30 of them, tumbled down the stairs, and been perfectly happy about the whole experience. My wife went with the Mojito, and it was brilliantly constructed. The crushed ice and layered mint made it look almost too good to drink. Almost. The drinks absolutely deserve five stars. Then came the blue crab beignets, and they were spectacular. That's the kind of appetizer that makes you stop talking for a minute because everyone at the table is too busy enjoying what's happening. Unfortunately, the rest of the food didn't quite live up to the cocktails. The fish dip was very average and lacked much flavor, and the menu itself felt pretty limited. So here's the deal: if you're coming to The Ice Plant for drinks, I would have no problem giving it five stars. The cocktails are that good. This is a highly recommended stop for a drink in St. Augustine. But I have to review the entire experience, and the limited menu and average fish dip bring the overall experience down a notch. Four stars. Come for the drinks. Stay for the atmosphere. Definitely order the blue crab beignets. And if you happen to find yourself three cocktails deep, admiring the antique decor while contemplating the stairs, maybe just take your time.

Once we found it hidden in the back of a small shopping center in World Golf Village, we went inside to an empty restaurant at what should've been a bustling lunchtime crowd. The restaurant had all of two employees working. The cashier/waitress asked us to seat ourselves and she brought us the menus. 5, yes FIVE, different things that we attempted to order were out of stock! How do you run a restaurant when 5 staple items are out of stock.... Hamburger patties, bacon, onion rings, and all fountain drinks including coke & dr. Pepper???? It quickly became obvious why the entire restaurant was empty! After we made alternative choices from the menu and received our meals, the waitress spent the entire time we were in her presence talking in the phone and to someone who seemed to be a regular patron that had come in after us to pick up a to-go order. I heard her say that 'today is my last day because I'm moving.' After hearing that, it made sense as to why she never came back to our table to see if we needed anything. We even had to request she bring our check so that we could pay the bill and leave. She was 'too busy' to notice we were finished & waiting.... The food that we got wasn't horrible.... Firstly, I would like to point out that when a review is posted is not the same as when the visit was. Secondly, a woman FROM YOUR BUSINESS came to MY car and personally told me that the restaurant was closed for renovations. And she did the same to at least 2 more cars of people. AND I asked here why the hours were NOT updated on google and she replied "Well we posted the hours somewhere." And no, this what not on a Sunday. We checked the hours before planning our trip and you were supposedly going to be open but your hours were not updated to reflect any renovations. You are a rude bold face liar making up things that plainly didn't happen. Here's how I can prove you're a liar: how would I know that you were closed for renovations supposedly before they started as you claim if I'm from out of town and came on a day that you're always closed as you claim before they ever started? I couldn't. I would have had to be there during the renovations as I was. And I was told by a woman on your staff! Talk to your staff maybe before you get so nasty. My family planned a trip to this location just to try this restaurant. (Over a 3 hour drive). They should have updated their hours or at least put it on their sign. Poor management. Never even apologized for the major inconvenience. I already posted this review once and the owner or manager had it taken down because they didn't like my truthful post about their poorly ran restaurant.
