I am not a matcha lover, I only tend to drink it when I am craving it. This day I was craving it and was passing by this location and decided to get one. The matcha flavor is a bit strong, but it is enjoyable, and it is not as sweet as other ones I tried before which I really liked. This cost around 5-6$. I also tried a breakfast burrito from this spot which was okay. It of course was not made there it is one of those that they heat up, like Starbucks would, but the burrito was really good and flavorful. In total I paid 16$ here for the burrito and drink which I personally think is too much which is why I may not be stopping here as often. read more

I came back to try the avocado toast and get a drink. I'm trying not to drink coffee since I had an ulcer, so I got the chai latte with oat milk. The avocado toast is good. I'm not a fan of sourdough bread used for avocado toast. Especially if the avocado is mixed with lemon. Too sour. It needs something to balance all the sour flavor. I bought two honey oat lattes this morning. As I was in a rush I didn't get to open the lid to check inside as I've noticed that it doesn't get filled enough. When I got home I picked up my cup and felt it lighter than usual. When I opened it, I was disappointed that it wasn't filled enough. Cold brew is their best item, but I wouldn't go out of the way to get it. Their iced matcha latte is watered down, and mostly milk same for their London dog. Not sure why people like the lattes here unless they just like drinking milk? They use cheap TAZO tea bags for their London fog. They leave the 2 teabags in the cup so it takes up space, doesn't make sense because the cup wasn't filled to the top either. The ratio of their tea and milk is off, saw them make it and (less than a quarter of a cup was the tea) and entire cup is ice and milk. Cup wasn't even fully topped. So basically paid a $8.20 large cup for milk, ice and a shot of CHEAP tea. They also charge you an extra $1 for oat/almond milk. It's a London Fog of all things how can you charge an extra $1 when the drink is suppose to have milk????? You literally could get Starbucks London Fog because it's the same exact thing they use but cheaper priced, and they at least make it TASTE better...iced London fog venti 24 oz at STARBUCKS only costs $5.95 that's including the Oak/Almond milk! Starbucks also only charges $0.70 for oat/almond milk. I wouldn't go out of the way for this place. Only tried this because it was nearby and had a good first experience with the cold brew last time. Lattes are disappointing, not worth the price and not sure why everyone likes the lattes they use cheap coffee/tea. read more

THE BEST coffee in my opinion. I recommend their honey oat latte (hot/cold), oat milk latte (hot/cold), or lavender latte (hot/cold). My husband loves their Americano. It can get really busy; be sure to allow for extra time so you're not late to work. read more

Need to improve customer service..there is one young girl who took my order probably 3 times already it seems like she's not happy to work because she doesn't say hello or thank you then last time I want to use my points but she just ignored me it seems like she didn't hear anything then the guy behind her said something to her about my points that I can use then she just kind of like whatever then she just gave a bad look... when I first tried this coffee shop it made me go back so many times because I liked there coffee so much but As time went by I felt like I didn't want to go back anymore because the young girl attitude wasn't good...and last time I witnessed an old women asking her about the pastries and seems like she didn't hear her so the old women kind of not happy and she said something then the young girl said I will tell my manager with a sarcastic look..I ended up feeling sorry for the old women... I don't think this young girl would like to be treated that way we were treated I hope the management will do something about this... read more

This place is amazing. I used to go here almost every day to study. Now I only have time to purchase coffee beans when I need to. My usual was a latte, I love how they would sometimes add latte art big plus. The staff is incredibly nice. I've never once had an issue with anyone there. The place also has a nice atmosphere especially when the baristas playlist is fire. Hannah has the best playlist always enjoyed it when she was on the speaker. Cafe Latte - 90% of the time it is perfect, very rarely will the coffee taste over/under extracted. Sometimes the latte would be served hotter than others. That's all my complaints though. Always an excellent cup of coffee. Never been disappointed!! Matcha Latte - It's great! Matcha tastes good, doesn't have any off flavors lower grade matcha gives. They sweeten it just perfect. I just wish they had a sign letting people know it's sweet by default. Beans - I typically purchase two types of beans from here Ethiopia and Columbia. Ethiopia is a light roasted coffee with a really nice acidity to it. Perfect for espresso and aero press. Columbia is a darker roast and it's also great. I like to use the Columbia for espresso and add that to a chocolate protein shake. It also works well for use in baking. Overall my favorite coffee shop. read more

After a previous bad experience, the owner contacted me and invited me to come back and have another cup of coffee. I sincerely appreciated this offer and I finally had a chance to take him up on this offer. This time was much different and I had a great cup of coffee. The pour over was made to perfection and I always enjoy watching the roaster roast coffee on their roaster. While I enjoyed the coffee, I felt it was a little too dark for an Ethiopian bean. Wow, I think I found my new favorite coffee spot in the 562 area! I came in here on NYE to try their honey lavender latte. I ordered it with oat milk and wow - flavor was rich and abundant! I loved it. Their customer service was excellent and as a new guest, I felt welcomed and trusted the quality of their menu. Love when the milk options include oat milk. Don't understand the extra 75c or so because at the end of my order is a $6.50'ish price tag for a regular size hot mocha. Why do they still have to charge extra for milk alternatives? The cocoa they use for their mochas is great. Tastes like real dark cocoa :) similar to Intelligentsia and Philz. I love the place, the tables for work space, their overall design, and the coffee is really good. I frequent this location due to its calm ambiance and late-ish hours on the weekend. With the exception of witnessing a homeless man walk in. One of the employees was able to handle the situation in a calm and respectable manner. I am very pleased with their increase in hours Wednesday through Saturday. Their matcha and honey oat latte have become my favorites. Over the last few weeks they have done some renovations that have increased the seating area. With that, it has brought forth new chairs that are uncomfortable. Whether this choice was for pure aesthetics or as a way to reduce the time customers spent at the cafe - it was a very poor choice. They are uncomfortable on the back especially if you are there for a period longer than an hour. It's a shame given that many people in the community frequent this establishment as a way to meet and connect with friends. Over the past few months, I have observe how elders in the community convene with love ones while others focus on work or personal task. I do hope the owners reconsider their chair choices or at least provide pillows. read more

FIRST VISIT: 1 star. I came here today after looking at yelp and really craving one of those toffles (tater tot waffles), but apparently they stopped selling those recently. That was my only purpose in coming here and trying this place, but I guess that really isn't their fault. I thought about getting a matcha green tea latte but it was $5 and I didn't feel like spending that when I knew I could get an excellent matcha latte for the same price at my favorite cafe just down the street. I ended up ordering a honey milk steamer instead since I like all things honey, but even that was expensive. The drink was just ok, nothing special or noteworthy. And it definitely wasn't worth $4.5 since it was basically just warm milk with a hint of honey, which I could have made myself at home. I really don't understand why the drink was so expensive. Something to know about me: If I loved the food or drink I tried, then whatever I spent on it won't faze me, no matter how high. But if I didn't fall in love with the food/drink, then I start to consider whether it was worth the price tag or not and base my ratings off of that. Overall: This place is incredibly overpriced and I'm not sure why. Furthermore, other than the toffle which they no longer sell, I'm not sure what the appeal of this place is that would make it stand out from all the other local coffee/ tea places. UPDATE: 2.5 stars. I came here again to give this place another try. Today I got a Red tea latte, which the cashier described as having a similar taste to Thai milk tea (I love Thai tea). It was pretty decent, definitely better than the honey milk steamer, but I'm still not entirely sure it was worth $5 for one cup, which is why I only raised my rating by 1.5 stars. I also didnt raise my rating any higher than that because of my issues with the honey milk steamer from last time. On the plus side, the place seems to be a popular study spot as almost every table was taken by someone working on their laptop. read more

I wanted to grab coffee before starting my day and found this coffee shop. I treated my sister and a friend for coffee and handed the cashier $50 bill to pay for it. The cashier said they do not take large bills over $20. I suggested they should have a sign for customers so they should be aware of it. I ordered the iced vanilla bean latte, which was really good. I came to this nice cafe on a Saturday afternoon to get some work done. It was pretty crowded, but I managed to find a small table. I ordered the London Fog, which is an earl grey latte. The drink itself was a good size for a decent/expected price. It tasted good, with a good amount of sweetness and earl grey flavor without being too overpowering. Totally plain looking from the outside, but wow, their coffee and especially their pastries are not plain! I think the pastries are some of the prettiest I've ever seen at a neighborhood coffee shop... hell, actually are THE prettiest I've ever seen. Unfortunately most were stale... but still 1000x Starbucks.... 1. Iced Honey Oat Latte $5.50: Ooooh very creamy, with a smoooooth coffee taste and no hint that there is no milk. This is the way all oatmilk lattes should be. 9/10 2. Latte $4.50: Didn't try it. Don't wanna kill my gf and kid on the way home. 3. Tomato Danish $4.95: So I love the tomato and cheese filling, and as I said, it's absolutely gorgeous. The pastry ring is so perfectly buttery dark tan with specs of caramelization. Almost looks like it's a prop, it's that beautiful. Alas it's stale and the surface was soft, not crisp. But even stale it tasted pretty good. 7/10 4. Chocolate Croissant $4.95: God my kid loved it! Beautiful like the others, with clear golden layers like those from fancy bakeries. Again, not the freshest. 8/10 5. Guava Cheese Danish $4.95: I think this was my favorite. That filling is so delicious. And like the other Danish, I think this is the most beautiful example I've ever seen. Marred cause it's stale. 7/10 6. Honey oat latte! It was so good I'm writing a review solely for that. It's been a while since I've been to a coffee shop like this and I was so thoroughly impressed by the one drink I ordered, I know I'll have to be back. After looking at the menu, I was having trouble deciding between the vanilla bean latte and the honey oat so I asked the girl at the register what she recommended between the two. She told me that the vanilla bean was one of their most popular drinks but she preferred the honey oat as it was less sweet. So I said, sounds good to me and chose the honey oat and opted for the iced version. It was so good! Perfectly creamy and yes, not too sweet but just right. The honey flavor was very nice as well; I was worried that if it wasn't super sweet then you wouldn't really get much of that flavor but I was wrong! The cafe itself is quite nice and well lit. They have cards on the tables to indicate it's been freshly sanitized should you choose to linger for a bit, and then when you're done you can return the card to one of the employees and they'll clean the table after you leave. But what specialty coffee shop isn't? You go in knowing you're going to get a great tasting cup of coffee and having to spend up to $5 for it. Nice and clean environment.
