Today was my day in Cerritos and I needed a place to get some work done. I'm glad I ended up finding Stirred Roasters because it was the vibe that I needed. I was there at around 1030am with maybe 2 other people. There were plenty of chairs inside and outside and also lots of outlets! I ordered a chai latte which was very good. Their prices are on the higher side, however, I did feel very cozy working in this space. I loved the low-level jazz music and the fresh air that was coming through the coffee shop because they left the side door open. The lady who took my order did walk my coffee up to my table. Need to preface this by saying 2 things: - I'm diabetic so half a pound of sugar in a cup would not do me well so I always opt-in for coffee or tea (unfortunately, the sugar-free options here are not good at all.) - You can still like a place and give it a bad rating. (and yes, I AM posting this from the store) Coffee itself is OK. But the problem is that they don't have coffee most days after 11 or 12. I even offered to pay extra for the already not so cheap coffee but they wouldn't even make it for you. Some people literally work their tech-support jobs from the store and they're constantly loud and oblivious to their surroundings. Music is WAYY too loud and some of those chairs need to be burnt or cleaned once in a while. But most importantly, a coffee shop that doesn't serve coffee. Go figure. This review is specifically for the beans. I purchased an espresso blend (medium roast) bag of coffee beans and upon opening it noticed it was really oily looking and dark. I still gave it a shot on my espresso machine and couldn't get the strong bitter taste out of the espresso even with varying settings on the machine (extracting slower/longer, adjusting grind size, etc.). I attempted to make a latte and the bitter aftertaste was still present with extra milk and sugar. Unfortunately had to throw the entire bag out as the after taste was terrible. Disappointing as the bag was not cheap and also no roast date was on the bag so I'm unsure if they're stale beans or if that is just how they're roasted. I wish I would've read the previous review about their beans before purchasing. read more

I went in the morning to look at for a new coffee shop since I go to the same place. My husband recommended stirred coffee roaster house because they opened early. I was able to get a pastry and coffee and get another coffee to take home to my mother. I got the February special, which was a raspberry white chocolate. My coworker introduced me to Stirred and it's always such a treat when we get a chance to work their together. My order is an iced latte with oat milk, hits the spot. They also have breakfast sandwiches, which are so good. The first time I went, I got a turkey provolone on a jalapeño cheddar bagel (also comes with egg), it was amazing! This time I tried a turkey pepper jack on a croissant, also amazing! There's a good amount of seating inside and outside tables as well. Good spot to work, study, or catch up with a friend. This is long overdue, but this is hands down my favorite coffee shop. I really wish I lived closer because I would frequent this place if I could. I've already brought a few people here. Cons first- I gotta say, if you're into specialty coffee, this may not be the place for you. The one time I ordered a flat white from here, the espresso wasn't good and after seeing other reviews, this seems like a consistent issue. Management could probably benefit from training staff more on dialing in coffee. Another thing, which isn't an issue for me since I usually sit outside, is that the inside is always packed. Usually every seat is taken, especially later in the evening/night. Like I said, not an issue for me, however if you prefer sitting inside just know it may not be feasible every time. Now, onto the good parts! The baristas are always super nice here and I love that they bring your order to you because it gives me the chance to go find a seat outside before getting my drink. Out of all of the times I've been here, there's only been one occasion where the barista wasn't really friendly. Everyone has bad days so I don't mind as much considering every other interaction has been good. Although I was disappointed by the flat white, I do usually get an iced red velvet latte and it's my favorite. I don't usually like my coffee too sweet, with the exception of this one. Such a good staple. I've tried a couple other iced signature lattes and they were good, but red velvet takes the cake. I've also tried a few of their pastries, all really yummy, but I could die for their breakfast sandwiches. I don't eat meat but I always get the jalapeño cheddar bagel with the egg and pepper jack cheese and it's my favorite part of the day. So so good. A HUGE plus for me is that they're open until midnight. It's perfect for my late night reads, but I know a lot of people flock here later in the day to work and/or study so it's a great place for all of that. read more

I have ordered their Vanilla Bean Dream latte for quite some time now, and it used to be one of my favorite drinks. It was always sweet, rich in vanilla bean flavor, and topped with perfectly foamy milk. Unfortunately, as of recently, the flavor has felt flat and the milk tastes watered down, which has been disappointing compared to the quality I was used to. I'm hoping this was just an off period because I truly loved this drink and would love to see it return to the delicious quality that originally kept me coming back. read more

When I walked in, it was warm, no AC. Not sure if I would want to study because I run hot. But there was Lots of workspace available for you to work/ study. They had an Easy to follow menu with Monin syrups, my favorite! Instrumental music which is nice and not too loud or distracting. They had a super cute Section with games and books! I noticed Signs posted all over with minimum purchase of $4 for services provided and there was a 3% charge to use credit card, they prefer cash! I've been wanting to try this place for awhile but my fiancé kept avoiding it. Finally, the other day we passed by and got their vanilla blended drink and the funk monki both were good! Unfortunately, this coffee shop is not it for me. After 4 attempts at this place now, I just don't think it's meant to be. This most recent time, I had ordered an ice-blended vanilla bean latte, and my friend ordered a hot vanilla bean latte with oat milk. The espresso in our drinks tasted burnt. The service from one of the baristas was welcoming and friendly. The shop is very clean with plenty of seats. Though when I was there, it was quite busy so all the spaces were full. This coffee shop also opens quite late, so it's perfect for those who want to find a place to study. Parking is also easy to access, since it shares a lot with a larger plaza. I don't see myself coming back given my experiences, but your miles may vary. read more

I bought the Colombian roast and, unfortunately, it was a letdown. The beans were extremely dark and very oily, which usually points to being over-roasted, old, or both. Instead of rich aroma or distinct notes, the beans just smelled flat. My wife and I regularly buy medium and dark roasts and even dark roasts shouldn't look like they've been shellacked. We usually buy around our area (in the Pasadena area) but wanted to buy from a different store since we were passing by. Quality beans are typically more matte, with aromas you can actually pick up before brewing. If this place wants to be taken seriously as a coffee roaster, adding roast dates on the bags would be a big step in the right direction. Freshness matters--especially at this price point. read more

I got a cold brew with sugar-free white chocolate syrup. I'm very glad that they offered sugar-free options. I am impressed at the variety of different unique sugar-free flavors that they offered. They were all monin syrups. i really enjoyed the flavor of my cold brew and the white chocolate flavor enhanced it nicely. my friend got a mango smoothie. We both were commenting on how vibrant in color it was. She was raving about how good it tasted, comparing it to a mango sorbet. the price was a bit excessive. I was especially troubled by the fact that she charged me for each individual pump of syrup. They accept a contactless payment. It was easy to find parking. the staff provided great service, including personally delivering the drinks to the table. the employee was very friendly and smiley which was great. There were games to play. there were areas to sit. There was jazz music playing - the vibes were very chill. They had a large menu with a lot of options. they offer 3 sizes. they sold protein bars and other grab and go options. If it smells like Christmas, sounds like Christmas, and tastes like Christmas... it must be Christmas??? I stumbled on this spot recently as I was waiting at the urgent care next door (long story) and was pleasantly surprised to find the most cozy lil coffee spot ever!!! The vibes were giving intense winter cabin for some reason and I felt like I had walked into Christmas morning. Since then, I've been frequenting on any gloomy day for their vanilla bean dream latte. It's definitely on the sweeter side but I'm personally a fan! It's a great pick me up and reminds me of the holidays. Another study session, I needed a place to study and finish homework late and this is was it! Whatever I really like about this place they had a lot of tables and it had the boxes to charge your laptop or cell phone right in the middle of the table, which was very helpful. I didn't have to look around for it or not plug in my laptop. I did not try their food however to try some tea I tried the lemon ginger tea and it was really good. I did add some honey next time. The vibe is not it for me.. doesn't feel very welcoming. The signs posted around the shop "minimum 1 order per customer" and"due to inflation, minimum order $4" so you'd rather make $0 the sell a pastry? What if 20 people wanted to buy a single pastry? You'd rather Make 0 sales ? You don't want your business to make money? Yeah, inflation, people are struggling and if someone can only afford to treat themself to a pastry, you're going to deny them that? Super weird, not really a place i wanna spend my money if that's the vibe. The coffee was so good too, so im sad that the signs make it feel so negative and unwelcoming. Also seeing how they respond to people's complaints in other reviews, they need to take accountability, they won't last long with a business motto like that. This is a really nice place to study/get work done. There is ample seating and light music playing and the overall vibe of the place is not distracting. However, their drinks are fairly on the expensive side. They have a a variety of options and I really like their red velvet latte, but a large almost comes out to $9.00. This is the only place that I've seen charge for light ice (I did not ask for it to be filled to the top). Sometimes parking can be hard to find because of the busy gym in the lot. read more

i've been coming to this cafe for a few years now, mostly because of the atmosphere and it's my go to stop for studying since i've been in med school. unfortunately , my most recent visit was extremely disappointing and left me very uncomfortable and unsafe. there was an odd man starring at people and writing things down- and i mean really starring and wouldn't look away if you made eye contact with him. He would even move around the cafe to get different views it was so weird. After trying to ignore it for an hour , instead of myself saying somthing to the man i talked to the barista about it. she seemed caring and apologized and that she would talk to the manager over the phone. After that i knew they were talking about the guy afterwards because his demeanor was so obvious. I'm here hoping they would address it right.... sadly the response i got was " the manager said there is nothing we can do , and don't recommend you saying somthing as well". which was surprising and upsetting. i kindly just said ok. After sitting for maybe another 30ish min i decided i could no longer handle how uncomfortable i felt so i left. it's sad because im a loyal customer but after this experience i can't justify coming back , especially when i can find a cafe close to me. i'm not disappointed at the barista, but management here. they don't know how to handle customer discomforts nor safety and i hope they gain the knowledge to do so. read more

6/16/23 I'm OFF-woohoo!! Felt like having great caffeinated beverage & I couldn't decide so hubby would always default to Stirred. Today I'm feeling like hot Chai-w/ a splash of SF vanilla & hubby ordered his usual hot oat milk latte. The usual staff weren't there & just as he suspected, his drink was "different"tasting-not in a good way. He says the quality & smoothness is NOT there. He said maybe they changed owners because it has definitely changed. And he said it's time to find another coffee shop. I'm saddened but there are definitely plenty around Cerritos & Artesia.
