    Salt & Pepper Tofu
    Jeff N.

Finally! A place that does the salt and pepper tofu correctly: crispy on the outside, perfectly tender on the inside, and perfectly seasoned with just the right balance of salt and pepper. It's savory and addictive, with a slight kick from the pepper and a delicious crunch that doesn't overpower the tofu's subtle flavor. Served with a side of dipping sauce, it's a great appetizer or accompaniment to any meal. As for the vermicelli noodles, they're light yet hearty, with a wonderfully chewy texture that complements the fresh herbs, crisp vegetables, and protein options you can add on top. The meat, noodle, and vegetable portions are balanced, and you get a satisfying mix of warm and fresh elements in every bite along with the nuoc mam. The pho itself is consistently flavorful, with a rich broth that has depth without being overly salty. The meat portions are very generous and good sized. But it's clear that this place knows how to do more than just the traditional pho. Service is always friendly, and the atmosphere is casual and welcoming. If you find yourself in the mood for something different, I highly recommend trying the tofu and vermicelli noodles here--they're not to be missed!

Our daughter wanted us to try this place. The atmosphere was nice. The service was good. The food was average. We may try it again sometime.

Not a fan of this place anymore. It's cold outside so I ordered a drink with no ice. They brought it with a quarter missing and said since you got no ice. It's weird. Never had this type of experience. Not coming back. Too many options closer to choose from

Campbell's tomato soup aka Tom Yum

I have eaten here twice. The first time we dined in for a late lunch on a Sunday. We had vermicelli and combo pho with wings and spring rolls - the pho broth was a bit bland, but everything else was for the most part very fresh with generous portions. Today I did pick up - the Tom Yum which is listed as a chef's specialty, so I expect it to be one of the best things on the menu. This is by far the worst Tom Yum I've ever had in my life. Zero notes of kaffir lime, lemongrass or fish sauce. Even the consistency is very thick. The only prominent flavor is very sweet tomatoes. It literally tastes like they ran out of broth base and poured in a can of Campbell's tomato soup. I had my husband taste it, and he almost gagged. The peanut sauce that came with my spring rolls is just that - peanut sauce from a can. No crushed peanut pieces, no red chiles. They also didn't give me the lavender iced tea I paid for, and we've found hair in our food both times. Don't think we'll be returning.

Vermicelli with grilled pork and a cup of beef Pho broth. Always fresh and delicious.

The food is always fresh and tasty. One of the best Pho restaurants in McKinney! All of the food at Simply Pho House is awesome...you have to check it out.

    Crispy egg rolls

The food here is so delicious! We had the Ribeye Pho and Meatballs with a side of the egg rolls. My husband also had the Vietnamese Coffee that was strong and flavorful. To top it off the service was top notch. I would definitely come back!

    Pho Brisket and Ribeye

I absolutely love Pho and used to have a plethora of them in the Houston area. Which is why I was so excited to have this place open up nearby. I ended up going at roughly 5:30 pm today (Saturday). The place is new and looks new. There's roughly 12 tables, which are mostly four tops with a couple of two tops. There were roughly two servers on and the place had a couple of tables when I walked it. So far, good. I ordered Spring Rolls with Shrimp (you can pick if you want shrimp or beef or pork etc. and comes with two per order) and Pho with Brisket and Ribeye. This place is Expensive compared to other pho restaurants. Not by an extraordinary amount but definitely more. Which I wouldn't mind if the quality/quantity was the same or better. That's where we go downhill. The spring rolls were essentially flavorless. A lot of other places add mint, cilantro, carrots or something to give it something. These were just lettuce, noodles, and one singular, small shrimp cut in half (which is usually the case except that it's a large sized shrimp rather than a small, bordering on extra small, shrimp). In addition, the spring roll wasn't rolled as well and fell apart completely. It happened with both of them. The only saving grace was the peanut sauce which a lot of places fail to do. I give the sauce 5 stars itself and the rolls 1 star. Now for the main event, the pho. As you can see in the picture, this is exactly what I was served. I counted exactly 7 small pieces of meat and I could pick up all the noodles in the bowl with my soup spoon. For that amount, I expected more. I know the prices here are more than in Houston but in other places, they fill everything to the top and charge roughly $10. The broth made it right to the middle of the bowl, as you can see in the picture. To top it off, I wasn't given utensils to eat my food and had to wave the waitress down. Overall, food portion and presentation was a sad 2 stars out of five. The taste of the pho wasn't anything crazy. The meat wasn't the best. The broth was decent. The noodles were just your basic noodles. I appreciated the bean sprouts but was only given one stem of cilantro that had approximately 2.5 leaves on it to use. Business picked up a little and I was left on my own. No water refills but I did have headphones in so I may have seemed unapproachable. The waitress did pick up any trash off my table which I immensely appreciate. Overall service was a 4 stars. In conclusion, this is pretty new and I hope to come back again to see if they have worked out all the kinks. A good pho place is what we need and this place has potential. Place was nice and clean, service was good, speed was phenomenal, but food, in combination with price, was severely lacking. For what I am paying for, I expect quantity, quality, or miraculously even both. EDIT: looking at pictures of what other people posted, it seems that I wasn't given my ribeye and I only had brisket in my bowl. Which i had thought when I was inside but I had just gotten off a long shift and work and just wanted to eat. What the picture shows is exactly how it look when she dropped it off, meaning I hadn't eaten a single bite. It looks like half the meat is missing compared to the photos posted by others.

The food was delicious, but came out one by one and super slow. It took over 20 minutes for the eggrolls and over 40 minutes for the grilled chicken rice plate to be served. The professional server was sweet and friendly. The restaurant appeared to be organized, cleaned and nice. But, I would have to think twice before returning to this establishment. Luckily, it was my day's off otherwise I would never make it back to work on time with only an hour lunchtime. I wish you success in your new location, I really hope the cook focus on his/her job & improves in delivering quality food faster next time!

    Thai tea (non-dairy)

Pho and appetizers are amazing and now they serve Boba, Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee !

Pork Spring Roll with Peanut dipping sauce. The sauce is not Gluten Free.

We had the Pho Tai Chin and the Beef Fried Rice. The menu is clearly marked for GF items including the sauces. The Pho was amazing with a great flavor laden broth. The GF fried rice had good flavor, but wished for either GF soy sauce, or another type of sauce to add a little extra to it. Great service. Definitely worth giving it a try.

Great value there - Fairly large vegetable/noodle/etc bar - Waiters were incredibly attentive - All meats tasted high quality CONS: - No true "sauce bar"--I kind of tried to replicate my usual combo using the salad supplies and sauces - The meats are clearly made for either the grill or the pot 80% of the time with very few that can do both. For example, pork belly (grill) is different from THIN pork belly (pot). Beef belly worked best in the pot. Chicken worked best on the grill. Etc - Beef broth I got for my hotpot was decent but worse than most pork bone broths I default to For the same price as Seapot, I'd still personally prefer Seapot. But I think this place does best a lot of competition like Nan and Hai Di Lao. Give it a try for sure.
