Yes, you can say at times other places have better this or that one item but how'd you like that 3 hour wait? Just wish they didn't change their green beans, the old ones were the best, new ones are not my favorite. I asked what happened to the old ones and they said these were preferred...BY WHO? I don't recall a vote, and only one time a couple months ago did they ever have both...they were handing out free samples of the new ones. Came here for lunch. They have a dine in or take option. You can build your our plate via pound of meat from their variety of selection, they give free sides, fountain drinks and dessert. The food by pound is on the pricer side especially when it's two regular size rib for 10$, one sausage $10 and $20 two slice of their signature cut. It was filling because I don't eat much but definitely more costly compare to other famous Texas bbq. The service was good. My server was extra attentive and helpful. We celebrated my husband's birthday at Hutchins BBQ and had a really great experience. Even on a rainy Saturday afternoon, we only waited about 15-20 minutes in line, which wasn't bad at all. Inside is spacious, and we had no trouble finding a table for our group of 10. Our waitress, Megan, was incredibly kind and attentive. She and the team even sang happy birthday and surprised him with an ice cream cone, which made the day feel extra special. The food was very good overall. My favorite was the jalapeño pork sausage, it was full of flavor. The pork ribs were also delicious. The brisket was okay, not my top choice compared to the other meats. Portion sizes for the sides are generous. We tried the corn, coleslaw, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and fries. Wow! This was the best BBQ! The brisket was the perfect middle slice not all fat but not dry and lean! Fell apart didn't even need to cut it! Walking inside it was also clean and smelled wonderfully! We took our time ordering and were not rushed even though there was a line. We choose to get brisket and turkey. As well as some sides. New Year's Day Lunch at Hutchins hit the spot! Stars of the show were the pork ribs, jalapeño sausage and okra! The brisket is good but has a layer of fat. Easy to get around the fat and it's seasoned well. Mac & Cheese was good but the kids didn't like the hard bits, (I think it was bacon.) Potato casserole was smooth, priced well but could have used some chives or green onions. (Definitely Skip on the $3.89 fountain drinks & $1.50 bag of chips. ) I wasn't a fan of the $60 beef rib ($39.99 lb) but the hubs liked it. Jalapeño pinto bean & chicken are good but not spectacular. Kids enjoyed the peach cobbler and ice cream. The restaurant is run well, line went quickly, no shortage of staff and never saw a table sit more than a minute before it was cleaned and ready to go. Atmosphere is a tad nicer than I was expecting. You're still going to smell like you are wearing BBQ perfume when you leave but the air was moving and it wasn't hot. read more

The ambiance has the same looks/feel and the menu is identical. The food was outstanding and the service was great. The brisket and pulled pork were good. I would've preferred the meat to have more of a smokiness to them, but they were good overall. Finally got to try this poppin bbq joint! My first impression was great. They stay busy, even at 4pm on a Saturday when not many people eat dinner at that time. They have a drive-thru line, of which gets very long and backs up onto the main road. Clean place with several different checkout tables, which makes everything go a little faster and smoother. I thought the brisket was solid. Had a really good bark on it. The pork ribs had a sweet rub on them but were also really good. I don't normally use bbq sauce for other than my sides, but they have some solid sauce. I do appreciate that they have serval different sides to choose from. When we were there, they had already run out of the beef and pork ribs, which were disappointing, but I've heard really great things about it so I'm going to assume it's really good. The Texas Twinkies were really good and stuff with jalapeño and cream cheese wrapped in bacon, I only had one of the Texas Twinkies and a little bit of the brisket before I was actually full. The other really neat thing that they offer are desserts that are rotated. This time, it was banana pudding and peach cobbler. I really appreciate that they offer desserts that you could try. The peach cobbler was very subpar, but the banana pudding has that artificial banana pudding flavor that you want and that kind of dessert. The staff is friendly and they joke with you and you really get that southern hospitality when you dine in there.
