Great deal! Enjoyed this spot for date night. $88 combo was impressive. We'll come back

We were welcomed immediately upon arrival by all staff which was so lovely snd refreshing. The ambiance is amazing, a bunch of beautiful neon signs and 4 big flag screens conjoined to make one. It's lively with some cool Asian "r&b" and k pop sounds. The music isn't too loud and you can converse without yelling. To get to food; you order everything off your phone and can add as you want. The lamb skewers were SO good and tender! The garlic oysters were delicious and had the right amount of kick with the pepper. The egg noodles were perfect! The soy sauce fried rice was just "okay", it lacked seasoning. The drinks were great and loved the presentation. I replaced the vodka with tequila in the watermelon punch and it was amazing. It was so fruity, and I'm almost 100% they've got to be using real watermelon juice. It was so refreshing that I almost drank it like juice. Everything came out in a timely fashion and our servers explained everything so well. Can not wait to go back & they're open late night! We went around 10 and still had amazing service and food. My new favorite night spot

Gao's - it's lively, but not to the point where you can't hear the people you are with. It's colorful but not to the point where you're shined out by the lights. The food is always delicious. The meat is flavorful with the best spices and never dry.

The online menu said that the cucumbers were lightly dressed with garlic, but that is inaccurate to my standards because it was extremely garlicky. There should be a warning The skewers were great and full of flavor. The brocolli, cauliflower and corn were very well seasoned as well! Both noodle dishes were tasty and the yogurt soju was great! The ambiance inside is great and the service is fantastic!!

Best Chinese BBQ and crawfish in town, with free kids meals on the house . Weekly dinner place.

Small space, not the best for large groups. They have a seafood boil 35$ which is a really good price. The skewers are very flavor but all the ones we tried have same flavor and not spicy. Our fave is the enoki and fish tofu and the chefs special which is skin on spicy shrimp for 9.99$!

GAO's has not only amazing Chinese style skewers and crab, but the deals are next level! Current happy hour deal was $1 lamb skewers from open to 6:30p when we went. I love the accessibility and ease of using the QR code to see the menu and order. Service was fast and efficient. Food: Northern Style Dan Dan Noodles: if you like bouncy jelly noodles GET THIS. Super addicting and nice spice kick with the chilli oil. Skewers: all good just get what you like! All of the meats and vegetables were tasty. Crab: Surprisingly really good! They don't skimp on the sauce and love that they provided a bib and gloves for easy and clean eating. Milk tea and fruit teas: on the sweeter side. The vibes were very upbeat, they had a whole stage for karaoke and a projection of music videos playing while we ate. Overall very good Chinese skewers place in Allen.

Don't make the same mistake we did and miss the Happy Hour menu! From open until 6:30 PM daily, they offer $1 lamb skewers that are seriously worth showing up early for. We tried several items, but the standouts were the Chef Special Fried Shrimp and the Small Beef with Fat Skewer. This might just be our favorite skewer spot in DFW.

Good food and good ambiance... service was excellent until it took 3 reminders to get our beers...

I had so much fun I forgot to take pictures! The skewers were excellent and I recommend trying ANY that sound good to you. My favorite was the pepper beef. The servers were very helpful and the restaurant is neon and clean and OPEN LATE! Bring your friends for a great night out.

Reservation: Made reservation on OpenTable. Highly recommended since the restaurant is not huge, and Saturday night was pretty busy! Food: There's a huge variety available, including some more adventurous items (like frogs and silkworms- Eek). We ordered lamb, beef, chicken, green beans, and garlic fish! Ambiance: Interior is cute, but the tables are smaller, and would not recommend it for a group larger than 6. It looks like they have a whole karaoke stage set up for after hour parties! lol Parking: lots of parking

Very small place. there was only one other couple in the restaurant eating. And a coule getting a "pick-up". I noticed three very extensive menus on the wall.I thought I would try the Mongolian Beef. This one dish is the one I use to compare a lot of Chinese Resatuants. Wow!! The order was just right with the ratio of Beef to Fried Rice. The Fried Rice was "Fried to perfection, perfect color, texture and Flavor" the Beef was cooked just right as well. It was very lean with the perfect amount of spices, onionms, etc., I woiuld say that this Mongolian Beef was better than, if not the best that I have ever eaten. Who would have thunk it. Now I want to try some of the more than 200 other menu items. I give it 5 stars for the entree, but overall 4 stars because, as excellent as this place is, it needs to be a little larger, and the food should be out a little quicker.

Very poor, "from the freezer and can" quality. Very different from what I've experienced in the evenings. Disappointing.

Crab noodles: VERY generous amount of crab meat. Super creamy, seafood forward flavor. If you like shellfish, this is for you. Dan Dan noodles: Lighter flavor profile compared to other Dan Dan noodles I've tried. Refreshing! Scallion oil noodles: this was my favorite. The sauce is addicting and the noodle texture is so addicting. Love the crispy fried scallions on top. A must order. Beef noodles soup: Also very solid choice. The broth is clean and the beef is tender. Lots of veggies on top which I like. Skewers: they're all pretty solid and have similar cumin seasonings. I think the beef/lamb was my favorite. Very "futuristic" vibe inside. Good amount of parking.

Only ate a bite. ~ Beef, shrimp, and chicken fried noodle (3.5/5): taste like hu tieu ap chao but a bit oilier. This was was good but I think it would be better with some pickled peppers or spicier. I would have also liked it hot rather than luke-warm. ~ Pork belly noodle soup (3.5/5) + spicy + numbing: the broth was rich and flavorful! We added the spicy and numbing customization but it wasn't that spicy and wasn't numbing at all. This dish was also luke-warm. Service: You walk in and choose your own table unless you're ordering to-go (then you order at the kiosk up front). If dining in, there's a QR code on the table to scan and order online. You can continue ordering and the kitchen will make it and send it to your table. When ready for the check, the app will send a notification to a server that brings out the check.. kind of defeats the purpose of doing everything through the website. They seemed extremely short staffed with only one server. You won't be able to ask for any condiments, napkins, to-go box, etc. as nobody stops by your table and it was difficult to get the attention of the server at all... we asked for an extra bowl which we never received. Ambiance: the place isn't that big and had a steady flow of customers. I liked how it wasn't too loud and was a good place to catch up with my friend.

My first visit was solo, since I'd been curious for some time. It was just me, a bowl of wonton soup, and some Kung Pao Chicken, and the whole experience felt like I'd been teleported to a cozy spot in San Francisco. Warm ambiance, incredible food, and that "I could sit here for hours" vibe. I ate at the bar, which is by the entrance, people watched and enjoyed my delicious food. Naturally, I went back with a couple friends and my wife... and that's when things escalated. We ordered like we were feeding a small village. Kung Pao (again, because it's that good), House Special Soup Bao, chicken lo mein, pepper chicken, General Tso's chicken, and a bunch of other dishes that I lost track of somewhere between "wow" and "how are we still eating." Every single plate was fantastic. Not just "good for a group order," not just "surprisingly solid," it was legitimately delicious across the board. The table looked like a celebration, and we treated it like one. Every single dish was a great portion size, delicious, and tasted WONDERFUL. By the end, our eyes were definitely bigger than our bellies, but honestly, if you're going to over‑order anywhere, this is the place to do it. I can't wait to go back... though next time I'll try to show at least a little self‑control. No promises. Chef Sun's is officially one of my favorite spots. Great food, great atmosphere, and the kind of consistency that keeps you planning your next visit before you've even left the parking lot. I give this place my Arnold Schwarzenegger - "I'LL BE BACK!"

When we got to out table we didn't know what to expect, The menu was packed with so many options so we tried a few different apps and dishes to share. We went with the popcorn chicken, chicken & shrimp shumai, steamed green beans, and cumin lamb. The popcorn chicken was awesome. Just the experience of it. You're presented with a bouquet of popcorn chicken. The chicken was flavorful and had a nice amount of spice to it. I opted not to add any chilis to my bites as I found the chicken alone to be just the right amount of spice. Would recommend this dish for the experience mainly. The chicken and shrimp shumai was outstanding. One of my friends has a strong dislike of any shrimp dish, but truly loved this. It was perfectly seasoned and so tasty. The steamed green beans were great and had the perfect amount of crunch. While the cumin lamb was seasoned well and tasted great. The only miss was the fried rice. I was honestly surprised that execution was so strong with everything else, but the rice lacked flavor. That said, I'd gladly come to Chef Sun's again.

The culinary experience was so over the top, I don't even know where to begin. IT.WAS.THAT.GREAT. It all started upon entering this smaller restaurant that has a peaceful ambiance, as we were cheerfully greeted by Jeanne, who knew we were arriving as our friend had called ahead. Snce we arrived a little early, and our friend was en route, we decided to try the scallion pancakes, with the Chengdu spicy dumplings and sesame bread which was enthusiastically recommended by Jeanne. The appetizers arrived and we all enjoyed them. The dumplings arrived in a spicy broth-like elixir that complemented the soft pillowy pockets of seasoned pork. The scallion pancakes were mediocre at best, but the sesame bread was amazing!! It had the perfect texture and savory flavor that was enjoyed by all. For our entrees, we ordered two dishes of the Stir Fried Shrimp with Yibin Chili and asparagus (extremely delicious), a spicy Clay Pot Fish, Beef and Napa Cabbage with spicy chili sauce (incredible spicy flavor!), Hot and Spicy Chicken (chunks of deep fried chicken, yum!!), Combination Fried Rice, and an order of the sauteed snow pea leaves. Everything arrived fresh and freshly prepared. Every entree we chose was exceptional! Our iced teas and ice waters were always refilled, and boy were we stuffed! I highly reccomend this restaurant if you're are looking for a more authentic Chinese dining expereince! Make sure to ask for Jeanne!
